That’s my father Richard Nader in the white suit bringing back these two guitar greats. My brothers and I used to hang out back stage and play stick ball. One time Bo came up to us and we started playing catch with a tennis ball then he rushed up on stage. I’ll never forget the power these guys delivered. Seeing my father Mc these shows and hang out back stage I’ll never forget. Each venue had a specific end time and my dad always went over and let these guys keep jamming cause he loved seeing everyone having a good time. He had to pay extra for that but it was worth it. I have so many unreleased master recordings of these shows up in my attic I just don’t have the time and money to transfer it to digital. He passed away in 09 of Parkinson’s disease during his final year he couldn’t speak anymore. Here was a man who could speak in front of thousands of people only to struggle towards the end. I’m so glad these videos still exist. Everytime I hear his voice on these clips I choke up cause it takes me back. This music was a huge part of my life even though I was born in 78 I listen to this era almost everyday. Long live Rock n Roll. I love you dad. You were the coolest and the best!
I used to go the the rock 'n' roll revivals at MSG starting at (ibelieve) number 6 (?) in '71 and went to every one after till '77. Saw great shows every time and saw Bo and Chuck play together more than once. Your father made the '70s a little bit better than they were going to be, what with Disco and everything. Almost felt like we knew him. So many great acts we got to see I wish I could thank him personally.
In 1972, Chuck was supposed to perform at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Ft. Lauderdale. He couldn’t make it because he was still in England recording his London Sessions, so he asked Bo Diddly to do the concert. What a night!!!!!!!
I met Bo Diddly in college. My locker was in the music wing. Cool guy. Nothing bothered him. Asked a 21 year old. " What are you so angry about ?" Let's have a drink. Very cool night.
I was the lead vocalist in Grease Lightning. We did 3 shows with Chuck and 1 with Bo. We opened the concerts and played behind them both . I could tell a few stories that most wouldn't believe...instead I'll end with "We're not worthy, we're not worthy. (One show was mc'd by Wolfman jack and Dick Clark)
How sweet would it have been watching a legend (Berry) on stage and then see him be joined by Bo-fucking-Diddley? Plus the look on Chuck's face at 1:04 when Bo copies the duck walk is priceless!
I grew up on Beautiful Black Blues and Soulful Music like this.. all my black friends called me Vanilla Chocolate.. I'm 65 now and us kids from the 1960,s still get together and do what we were created to do..DANCE..all night long...
I saw a triple header in Portland Maine around that time with John Lee Hooker (opening), Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry. Chuck had fans up on the stage dancing. Incredible show.
One of these days, I'm going to "ruin" my monthly disposable income on a Gretsch Bo Diddley guitar. That said, it must have been a BLAST to be in this crowd. This wasn't just a performance. It was HISTORY being made by the two Original Guitar Heroes of rock and roll. RIP...and respect.
You know Im 21 years old and I wish that I was my age now back then so I can see these amazing musicians live, But I guess Im stuck watching it forever on youtube and only hearing it on the radio. Theres not to many men my age who say that to often.
I had the pleasure of playing with both of them later in the years google Mike Morrison blues revue@young and happier days with the idols of rock and roll
Elvis did admit that!! when he saw Chuck Berry in Las Vegas with friend Tom Jones....he's actual words were..''up there is the true king of Rock n Roll''!!! How right he was!!
Oh I can assure you he got paid and charged that Ray Romano lookalike an additional fifty bucks the next time around just for bringing Bo Diddley on stage!
Oh my God..What a find.. This is it folks. Ground Zero for pure Rock N Roll. These two are at the top of their game, and have set a standard that will never be topped. A true Blessing to hear and see. Thanks for the upload..
Elvis being in the audience and not wanting to get on stage to steal any of Chuck's and Bo's thunder speaks volumes. Elvis was on record many times saying Bo, Fats and Chuck were true legends. He gave credit where credit was due.
@leathergunn I'm 44 and feel the same way, it amazes me when I hear stories of bands that played my area long ago, who was opening for them, venues that are long gone. We can thank the Gods at TH-cam and sattelite radio for thinking of old fogies like us and letting these guys live on forever. Roy Orbison said it best, when asked how he'd like to be remembered he said "He'd like to just be remembered"
Just because the Ray Romano wanna be announced it was the first time they were together onstage doesn't make it a fact. He looked like the type to say anything to build his precious little music club up.
Not true , Muddy Waters T.Bone Walker Charlie Christian Albert King Elmore James BB King Freddie King John Lee Hooker Lightnin' Hopkins Ike Turner Johnny Guitar Watson Steve Cropper Kenny Burrell John Coltrane Little Richard The Rock'n Roll saxophone honkers Wilson Pickett Were all significant influences on Jimi Hendrix.

This is from Let The Good Times Roll. A 70s movie. Chuck's moves are great. Chuck spread his feet so far apart, he was amost on the ground. 2 icons on the same stage. Chuck did great moves in American Hot Wax. Check it out.
My two favorite guitarists. Still listen to ‘em in 2023.
2024..

Thanks for the anecdote. You're part of this history.
God bless you
Awesome memories!!! You witnessed music greatness.
Do you still have those masters? Please get in touch with me. I would love to learn more and possibly fund a digitization project.

The real Kings of rock!! We wouldn't have what we have today,if it weren't for them!!
So right !
Elvis is the real king
That is pure nonsense! These two guys are midgets in the world of rock and Berry is a plagiarizer and also got his sound from rockabilly.
In 1972, Chuck was supposed to perform at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Ft. Lauderdale. He couldn’t make it because he was still in England recording his London Sessions, so he asked Bo Diddly to do the concert. What a night!!!!!!!

I saw cb in Youngstown Ohio in 71 I think?
Just moved into a old house Bo Diddley lived in…feeling so inspired…what a beautiful presence he had and still has on the world today
I think I just witnessed the most amazing jam ever
yes for sure
This here's about the coolest jam I've seen: th-cam.com/video/6SFNW5F8K9Y/w-d-xo.html =)
@@ianjohnson458 That's not bad but there's no duck walks!

I met Bo Diddley in a bar in Cleveland back in the mid '80s about an hour before his show, he was a laid back dude.
I met Bo Diddly in college. My locker was in the music wing. Cool guy. Nothing bothered him. Asked a 21 year old. " What are you so angry about ?" Let's have a drink. Very cool night.

BS... UR just another turd in the utube comments section, as usual.
the true kings of rock n roll
LOL. Don't be racist now. You may desperately want your statement to be true but it is FAR from the truth.
Two men who changed music for the better, made it more fun, made it crazier, and made people move their feets and asses.
How sweet would it have been watching a legend (Berry) on stage and then see him be joined by Bo-fucking-Diddley? Plus the look on Chuck's face at 1:04 when Bo copies the duck walk is priceless!
(from Bolivia)
they will live forever gracias to TH-cam
Two legends on one stage ??!! I only wish I could’ve been there!!
The architects of Rock.
pure history
Phil
NO doubt.🎸👍
Exactly.
Phil Carmichael
With Jerry Lee Lewis
Yes, along with Buddy Holly.
Unfortunately I never got to see Bo Diddley live 😞 ......... But I did get to see Chuck Berry live 🙂
Those are 2 of the coolest f**kin guys. Puts most of the current popular "artists" to shame.
These two had much to do with warping the minds of America's youth in the 50s--warping in a good and necessary way.
@@birdonthehorizon These guys and others like Fats Domino had more to do with race relations than any politician.
This needs to be about two hours longer then it is. Fantastic!
well, at least 2 mins.Lol
Yes, really for hours ..terrific 🎼
That is where the British R&R music came from and we lived through the 60s & 70s .. My hat is off to both these legends of R&R music.
Lived in Chicago, saw Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, shake his hand.
So glad I got to see both great men performing live !!!! 💯👏👏
The double genius. God of rock n roll and god of blues. Rip chuck, Rip bo. The greatest moment of music. Thanks for the post
Impossible to get more coolness on one stage!
Two of the greatest ever - no contest!!!
I grew up on Beautiful Black Blues and Soulful Music like this.. all my black friends called me Vanilla Chocolate.. I'm 65 now and us kids from the 1960,s still get together and do what we were created to do..DANCE..all night long...

music is color blind !
This is too cool! Two incredible legends of R&R jamming out together and having so much fun... just wonderful to watch... thanks for posting!
It may seem abstruse to say this, but much of today's metal music has its roots right here. Awesome performers.
Two of the greatest rock n roll legends chuck berry and bo diddley
My cousin Carol and I met Chuck Berry. Sweet and gentle man.
Carol??? Don't let him steal your heart away! I'm going to learn to dance if it takes me all night and day!
Oh Carol! yes, I know that one 😂
Rocking here...heaven must be rocking with Berry and Bo each day..love these blue genius😍 souls❤️🎵🎶🎤🎶🎵🎶🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🙏🙏🙏
All I can say is, I love it. If you're feeling down this will turn you around.
What an amazing performance from two of the all times greats, & both were early big influences on my own playing!
Folks this is Rock n Roll right here 👏👏🤟🤟✌️✌️☝️☝️🎸🎸
wow!! tremendous R.I.P chuck berry u were and will be the father of rock "N" Roll
I saw a triple header in Portland Maine around that time with John Lee Hooker (opening), Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry. Chuck had fans up on the stage dancing. Incredible show.
So jealous of you right now!!!!
I love you, Chuck and Bo! How many generation enjoyed themselves dancing with your music. Golden years, maybe because we were young
I saw both of them in Houston, Texas in 1972 AND 1973.🎸

That was more coolness than I can process.
Oh, man, it was not ENOUGH! But a taste is better than nothing. SO GOOD!
I had the privilege of seeing both of these ROCKERS back in 57-58.They left a HUGE foot print.
That! is one of the most funnest coolest improvisational jams ever seen right there!
Bo Didley & Chuck Berry los padres del rock and roll.
I think I just saw a gravitational wave.
Chuck the true king of rock and roll
Heaven has a very special place for those Rock Angels.
It must be a hoppin place
Sounds like you want them to be dead
I wish I could've been there for a classic duo!
Amen I'm old enough to be greatful for what really matters for rock and roll thank both of you guys I will play till I drop!!!!!!
WOW ! this just blew my mind ! 2 pluse minuters of rock heaven
Great video - everyone knows how good Chuck is, this also shows how good Bo is.
I'm happy, happy to find these amazing images!!! Thank you very much for making them available.
This is more entertaining than anything else in 2024
These guys were the real kings of rock and roll, Elvis would be the first person to admit that.
Elvis did admit that!! when he saw Chuck Berry in Las Vegas with friend Tom Jones....he's actual words were..''up there is the true king of Rock n Roll''!!! How right he was!!
The real king of Rock n' Roll was Little Richard.
Holy shit, can't believe I haven't seen this before. Way too brief, but might be one of the coolest crossovers of rock. Amazing interplay.
It doesn't get better music wise. Beyond Amazing. Grateful for what they gave the world.
my two favorite guitars these guys are legends as well as all the other rock n roll and blues guitars

These are the Founding Fathers of RocknRoll !...Keep on rockin' in the free World...Vote Blue !
Elvis once said that the black artists in the 30's and 40's really were the starters of rock and roll. I agree.

@@wilmaaniceto2389 That was a wonderful video/song. Thanks!
great to see both of them together
Maybe somewhere, sometime, it gets better than this, but not often and not by much! All that's missing is 58 more minutes!!
This is great stuff. A great pair. I saw Jimi Hendrix at the Montery Pop Fest. You are right!
Did you visit the Aquarium while you were in the area?

Brilliant performances thanks for showing it
2 minutes of rock'n roll bliss.
Will we ever see their like again?
Sorry to say , but i very much doubt it .
Elvis being in the audience and not wanting to get on stage to steal any of Chuck's and Bo's thunder speaks volumes. Elvis was on record many times saying Bo, Fats and Chuck were true legends. He gave credit where credit was due.
Sorry Elvis fans but Chuck is and will always be the King of Rock and Roll.
I probably commented on this already. Two legends. One a great lead guitarist, the other a great rythm guitarist. Rock n roll at its best. Sorted!

Oh wow this brought tears to my eyes. Mad skills.
This is BRILLIANT for ever will this music stay in hour life happenly.
That's Rock-and-Roll in it's purest form!
Will never see the likes of these guys ever again.
these guys were both great they did some recordings together that were great
Two of my guitar heroes doing the Chuck Berry hop!
It took them until 1973 to get together that blows me away. One would think that they would have shared the same stage way before 1973.
Two Great Guitars was the title of the album.
Lost mine too, never lend valuable albums.
Oh my good god sweet lord jesus christ!!! so amazin!!!! Thank for the share
They are crazy.haaa legends of the rock
Oh my god what is this ? heaven of rock ?
The real artists
A rhythm master and a solo master rocking it together for the first time full mud mode...
Sometimes those old folks make me jealous.
Just because the Ray Romano wanna be announced it was the first time they were together onstage doesn't make it a fact. He looked like the type to say anything to build his precious little music club up.
if it weren't for these two, they're would be no Jimi Hendrix
There would be no Rock n Roll
+Kare2muchJR then you forgot Wuddy Waters and all other chess record guys.
Yeah man. Don't forget Howlin' Wolf and pretty much everyone else who collaborated with Willie Dixon.
Not true ,
Muddy Waters
T.Bone Walker
Charlie Christian
Albert King
Elmore James
BB King
Freddie King
John Lee Hooker
Lightnin' Hopkins
Ike Turner
Johnny Guitar Watson
Steve Cropper
Kenny Burrell
John Coltrane
Little Richard
The Rock'n Roll saxophone honkers
Wilson Pickett
Were all significant influences on Jimi Hendrix.
... Jeff Beck. You forgot him. Oh, wait, he was white :X
I love how Chuck eventually bows out and lets Bo go sick.
Good god, they were having a great time together!
greatness on a stage, that people were lucky. \o/
