In the late sixties I went to the Cog d'or tavern in Toronto and got a table right by the stage. During the first break, Bo came up to my table and asked me if he could check out my leather watch strap that I had made. During the next break he took another look at my strap and asked me if I could make him a similar guitar strap and I agreed. During the course of the week and after few designs and fittings, I made him the strap that became his signature strap. We became friends, spending time at his house in Los Lunas New Mexico. I also made his leather Black Gladiator outfit later on.
I worked at Le Coq D'or during the 60's. The best times, were when Bo let it rip around midnite. His number called the Bo Diddley Concerto was the most mesmerizing Rock n' Roll in existence. You couldn't sit or stand still. It sometimes lasted 10 - 12 minutes. Unforgettable. Saw Bo in Edmonton the same year he passed. One of a kind!
He's an original. Talented and a mover and shaker, plus you can't sit still when he plays, that's cool and something a lot of musicians don't have anymore. That 50's 60's sound. Bless Bo and all the enjoyment he brought us !
I saw him live in London near where I was living at the time, he was on with The Rolling Stones, and the Everly Brothers were Headlining, Bo' stole the show!!!!

so howcome 4 guys using 1950s equipment made this song sound so much better on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' back in 1955? I mean, I can barely hear the drums here
Yeah, why? He's right-handed and his weight is on his right foot. Here, he had two toes amputated due to diabetes so his balance correction is noticeable.
AS HE DOES NOT KNOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR, RECOVER THE DANCING TRICKS OR OTHER THINGS TO DISTRATION FROM THE PUBLIC, BO USES THE GUITAR AS A PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT, MORE THAN AS A GUITAR.

That’s cool AF. Did you make anything for the Duchess? She played around that time.

Who's on bass ?
AS HE DOES NOT KNOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR, RECOVER THE DANCING TRICKS OR OTHER THINGS TO DISTRATION FROM THE PUBLIC, BO USES THE GUITAR AS A PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT, MORE THAN AS A GUITAR.

He's a legend, but yawn 😩
I bet ANY amount of money, Bo outperformed you on his worse day. Do the research.
