Swimming Senko for BIG BASS

  • The swimming Senko covers water fast and catches big largemouth bass. The Florida Everglades are full of big bass with thousands of great places to fish. I’ll show you how to catch the big ones with the right rod, reel, line and tackle.The Yamamoto swimming Senko in the 5:5 inch size really cast a long way and is very easy to retrieve. It’s mid winter in Florida but this pattern works all year long.

    Depth finder? Nope. 21 foot bass boat with 250 motor? Nope. 35 rod n reels and 50lbs of tackle? Nope. Passion? ✔️. Know how? ✔️. Lot of fish? ✔️. Ton of fun?✔️

      Couldn't agree more. The fish don't know or care how nice your truck and trailer are. They shouldn't be able to see your boat. As a matter of fact, they shouldn't see you. Too much time spent on the unimportant details instead of finding out what works and sticking to it.

    I grew up bass fishing with an Abu Garcia 5500DA, Stren monofilament, and a Texas-rigged 8-inch Blackberry Jelly Worm. I watched you, Roland, on TV with my dad and we would plan our yearly fishing trips. Brings back awesome memories for me. The equipment has changed, the lures have changed, but the love for bass fishing is still there.

    I've been fishing for 40 yrs, since before I could ride a bicycle. My dad was serious bass fisherman, and between us we've had over 30 bassboats from a jon boats, 30hp super Skeeter, up to 22 footers.
    But I've never had more fun fishing that the way Roland is doing it here. A cheap, light, nimble, worry free boat that can go any direction over the small hidden waterways.
    That's a good day.

    Roland, I have been watching a bunch of your videos. I live on a private lake in Florida and casted for bass off the dock and shoreline, but I have not caught anything. Now that you have been teaching about the Senko, I want to ask a couple of questions. After bringing the 04 or 05 hook through the head of the worm and now you are ready to embed the hook through the body, do you push the hook through the body so it runs on the surface? Second question, you watch the line, are you talking about the line in the water (or close to the water) or are you watching the line on your rod. I am legally blind and I am trying to figure the best way to do this for my situation. Keep up the good work, I love your videos, my wife enjoys them, as well.

    • @RolandMartinOutdoors
      @RolandMartinOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In open water with hardly any thick cover , I will go all the way thru the worm so that the hook is nearly exposed for an easier hook set with lighter line!

    Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup th-cam.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

    I love these videos where you head out in your good ol' trusty jon boat. It really drives the point home that you don't need to have an $70k bass boat to go out and catch some fish and have a great time. Fishing doesn't have to be prohibitively expensive.

Many when I'm talking to my fishing partner, and may pause a split second to turn and look, or whatever the case, I get bit. Almost like they are saying I got ya now, while you're not looking. The action you had there was so good, but yet you took time to show the rigging, talk about the line, how you hold the rod up, drop it down to set the hook. First fish on the first cast is supposed to be bad luck

    These Senko videos tell me two things:
    1. They are very good attractors, that work when the fish are active and biting(fast reel with Swimming Senko) and EVEN when they are more lethargic and less aggressive(by dropping and dragging a regular Texas Rig Senko along the bottom). You could even draw a defensive strike on a fish bed when the fishing aren't feeding AT ALL.
    2. They don't last, AT ALL. He is having to change worms every 1-2 bass. My word. It's like really EXPENSIVE, live bait.
