I don’t know about anybody else, but I’d love to watch 1 to 2 hours of uncut fishing with Roland. He’s such a wealth of knowledge and fun to watch and listen to. Doesn’t have to be action packed, just 1 to 2 hours of nothing but Roland fishing and talking.
Been following and still learning from you since the '70's. You said you were a little skittish on estimating the fish now. Forget that. Nothing I like to hear more than SON! SON! SON! Big Ole 7 8 9 10 Pounder!!! SON! Look at THAT! SON!!! You're excitement and enthusiasm probably goes a long way in attracting new people but kids especially to the sport. We love you Roland!
I really enjoyed watching you catch bass on the frog. That one strike where the fish went completely out of the water to pounce on the lure was an awesome sight! Thank you for doing the video.
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. But what I most admire about you is that after all these years your passion for fishing has not diminished one bit.
I've been watching you since I was a little kid and always wanted to meet you finally met you on that day and you are the nicest coolest guy ever keep getting the big ones
Frog bass son! I Love it! I used a blue senko wacky worm method you showed in one of your other videos and landed a nice chunky bass today! Thanks Roland, your the Best !
Roland, I have only seen a fish porpoise a bait twice, this was the send time. The first was live, fishing with a friend a 5lbs small mouth bass did the same to his unweighted Senko as soon as it hit the water. It seemed like it went after the bait before it hit the water. It was a thing of beauty to see live. Interesting how someone who could not carry this man’s tackle box can question his estimated weights. Hundreds of tournaments and many thousands of fish caught. Roland you can call it any weight you want. A living legend.
Roland always a pleasure to see you here on youtube and fishing again live...grew up learning to fish by you and many of the professionals of the day. I treasure the memories of those afternoons watching you fish all over. My boats always packed with tackle just like you. Thank you again for doing youtube for us anglers.
Man in first 30 seconds you gave me a Great tip! Just bought a new kayak and will be using the carpet trick at boat ramps to keep grinding to a minimum. Excellent fishing tips also (as always). Many thanks to you Professor Martin 🎣👍👍 God Bless
Where he's at they're a MAIN food group. I got disappointed after watching him nail them all the time. But it's edited he probably doesn't catch them one after the other. Try fishing it SloOowly over heavy Lily Pads and or weeds. He told me to try a SPRO Frog.
Mr Martin I've caught more fish from your methods thank you for your knowledge but may I ask your set up you used on this frog. Reel gear ratio and Rod action medium heavy plus length I'd gladly appreciate it
Please dont lol. Im sick of buying stuff that works on TH-cam, then I spend 100$ on different crap that dont catch anything. Its more of where you fish I personally think more than what bait you use.
That Bass flared his gills and opened his mouth, engulfing that frog, while at the same time jumping out of the water. What a strike, what a shot caught on film! The aggressiveness of this species is a big reason they are such a popular fresh water favorite. Just think if they grew to say six, or eight foot long, They would be striking small engine motorboats! ... We're gonna need a bigger boat ...
That strike keeps playing over and over in my mind like a catchy song. I am glad it was caught on tape. It will remain the classic topwater strike that lends justice to what description of largemouth bass is all about.
Roland, Do you ever fish the canal system that borders the back of your house? Any chance of you making a video of you fishing there and the techniques you would use in a man made system like that?
The Everglades off of 41 in-between Naples and Miami. Over there is a lot of quiet places to put a kayak, canoe or Jon boat. You can hear the traffic and see the trucks. He maybe off of Alligator Alley or 41. Either places are secluded.
Another great video, and you've got me trying out different frogs. My problem is that I'm getting bites, but I can't seem to get the hook ups. I've bent the hooks out a little, tried delaying setting the hook etc. but I just keep missing them. Any tips?
Use a 7 foot med heavy action rod, 65# braid, either change to a bigger hook or bend the hooks out from the body so you a 1/16"gap on both sides and pause a couple of seconds. Drop the rod reel in the slack until you start to feel him and really set the hook!
He probably won't answer. But I have seen many many places to launch deep off of 41 in-between Naples & Miami. Just drive down and do some investigating surely you'll find a spot.
Great fun thanks for sharing. I love to see someone doing crappie fishing at night with a floating light like i used to in the 70s when i was in OK. I don't even know if it's still popular. Can someone tell me if they still do it please, we had fun with that.
Hey Roland, a few years ago when Bass Pro Shops opened up here in Tacoma, Wa I spoke with Jimmy Houston. I asked Jimmy how someone could guarantee catching a 10 + LB bass every time they went fishing. Did Jimmy tell you the answer?
Roland your a fishing legend! If you say it's a 5 lbs fish then you don't let anyone make you think otherwise! Have they fished as long as you? There's a reason why your on the show an their not! Happy fishing!:)
I was doing the same thing growing up watching Roland and all the pros back in the 1970s on Wide World Of Sports before they made baseball, basketball, and football seasons so long they run over each other. It used to be nice to look forward to those sports, but it’s been decades since I gave a crap about any of those overpriced wimps getting millions to PLAY a GAME. Sadly, it’s almost as bad with these fishing championships. Oh well, at least I have my memories when Mepps brand lures were THE thing in spinners! LOL
One thing I have noticed about people that spend any decent amount of time fishing/handling fish is that they are pretty spot on or at least close within reason to guessing a fishes weight by holding it so if Roland says a fish weighs 5 lbs then I believe the fish weighs 5 lbs or very close within reason
The has caught probally more bass than anybody. And here he is pushing a boat down some rocks. Has every boat to use in his disposal. Still goes the hard way. Just to catch more bass. I hope he lives to be a 150 hes still got it. One of the nicest men you would want to meet and has done more for bass fishing than anybody else i beleive
ROLAND MARTIN is a expert and has proven it in many ways so I think we cut him some slag on how much the bass wight is he is catching so many fhish to help us on tips and tricks let's just say. TANKS ROLAND 😉💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻👍🏻
Nice home made boat ramp. Probably not as easy to get it back out though. Great bass caught for sure. Never worry about what others think of your weight estimates. I'd rather see you catching than weighing any day.

Honestly watching you is just like fishing with an old friend --- and I actually learn from you too !
17:22. Absolutely awesome. Beautiful job
Always great info and video. Mr Martin you are the man.
Thanks for another top quality video.
Another great video with straight to the point bass fishing! Shows it doesn't take a 60,000$ bass boat to catch giants!!
Excellent video quality. Sharp and great color. Your photographer's work has improved a great deal as well. Keep it up - love watching!
This video was awesome. New idea to launch the boat, technique for the plopper style top water, and knowledge on the foliage. Great video
That was an awesome strike. Great camera work.
Great video Roland! I really like that lure.
11K+ views and only 628 likes...come on show the love. Another great lesson from the master. Thank you!
Son, had those lunker's leapin for joy. Good catchin
Great video! I wish I would have the same results as you with the frogs. I'll just have to keep practicing, I guess. Thanks for the videos and tips!

Look at this guy .you got the life mr Martain
Roland you better be careful not to turn over that boat, especially when you get so excited.😊 love it
Mr Martin I've caught more fish from your methods thank you for your knowledge but may I ask your set up you used on this frog. Reel gear ratio and Rod action medium heavy plus length I'd gladly appreciate it
Thanks Roland I enjoyed it .
Have you thought about putting links in for some of these lures?
Please dont lol. Im sick of buying stuff that works on TH-cam, then I spend 100$ on different crap that dont catch anything. Its more of where you fish I personally think more than what bait you use.
@@1stAmendmentfukyoutube 😆
My favorite lure is frogs . Can you give me the specs a details on your rod you are using? Thanks, luv watching & sharing 👍🏻

Roland Martin that was an awesome video of that fish coming out of the water after your bait.
Roland, Do you ever fish the canal system that borders the back of your house? Any chance of you making a video of you fishing there and the techniques you would use in a man made system like that?
Living in Florida myself, I would love to know where this is at. Roland, you're an absolute legend btw
The Everglades off of 41 in-between Naples and Miami. Over there is a lot of quiet places to put a kayak, canoe or Jon boat. You can hear the traffic and see the trucks. He maybe off of Alligator Alley or 41. Either places are secluded.
@@nicholas389 I'm in Miami so it should be just west of me, Thanks buddy!
Homemade Boat Ramp ...
Don’t try this @home 😂
No SKEETER or RANGER Needed.
I think Roland has been spot on with estimating fish. Because I caught a fish that looked 3 pounds and it was 4 pounds.
Did he get ‘em?
Another great video, and you've got me trying out different frogs. My problem is that I'm getting bites, but I can't seem to get the hook ups. I've bent the hooks out a little, tried delaying setting the hook etc. but I just keep missing them. Any tips?

Peppergrass Bass 👍🐸
Is Okeechobee water level up, should be after Dorian if not?
Rolland were in the Everglades can you launch at?
He probably won't answer. But I have seen many many places to launch deep off of 41 in-between Naples & Miami. Just drive down and do some investigating surely you'll find a spot.
Yes drive West on 41 until you get halfway to Naples. I'm doing the same when I have the time
Great fun thanks for sharing. I love to see someone doing crappie fishing at night with a floating light like i used to in the 70s when i was in OK. I don't even know if it's still popular. Can someone tell me if they still do it please, we had fun with that.
So what glasses are your go-to?
Hey Roland, a few years ago when Bass Pro Shops opened up here in Tacoma, Wa I spoke with Jimmy Houston. I asked Jimmy how someone could guarantee catching a 10 + LB bass every time they went fishing. Did Jimmy tell you the answer?
Roland your a fishing legend! If you say it's a 5 lbs fish then you don't let anyone make you think otherwise! Have they fished as long as you? There's a reason why your on the show an their not! Happy fishing!:)
I might sometimes exaggerate a little but the you tubers nail me to the wall when I do!
Well you on the money there!
People should just be happy there's a legend willing to give good lessons on how to fish! Keep them coming!!!:)
OK, That does it. I'm movin' to Florida!
do you ever fish with a soft body frog
Best frogs hands down! Sharps are sticky!
I remember when I was a boy. I would watch you Sir. Slay the feesh on the 📺
Tight lines Sir

You are good Roland. Not even close to Olando Wilson's 4 lb thumb back in the day. Haha.
Who would question the legend?! If Roland says it’s a 5 it’s a 5 + ! SON!
What brand and all is that buzz frog
Did you get em?
What time of the day did you start fishing?
May I ask what are the Shades and that’s prob the booyah buzz frog
He's using Flying Fishermen glasses he's said that many times.
It's a Teckel Sprinker
I've been killing it with the sprinker lately !
One thing I have noticed about people that spend any decent amount of time fishing/handling fish is that they are pretty spot on or at least close within reason to guessing a fishes weight by holding it so if Roland says a fish weighs 5 lbs then I believe the fish weighs 5 lbs or very close within reason
Anyone know where to find this bait for less than 14.99?? I'm all for using baits that he recommends, but dang, that feels kinda steep.
What is your rod and reel a Bait caster combo at bass pro shop what is the name for beginners
Dont worry about the haters not every man can haul in nice bags like you.
Getting that boat out is a lot harder than putting it in I’m sure.
ROLAND MARTIN is a expert and has proven it in many ways so I think we cut him some slag on how much the bass wight is he is catching so many fhish to help us on tips and tricks let's just say.
TANKS ROLAND 😉💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻👍🏻
I like that boat better than bass boat because that’s how I grew up fishing
Roland Vs. Jimmy worm challenge? Senko Vs. BPS stick-o worm. The two best worms on the market.
What area of glades?
That's neat Roland your just a general
Wear anyone out pulling bass outta grass like that all day. Hey I need to know where that pond is btw?
Nice home made boat ramp. Probably not as easy to get it back out though. Great bass caught for sure. Never worry about what others think of your weight estimates. I'd rather see you catching than weighing any day.
Great video got to find me one of those frogs
