  • Sometimes people say they'll do thing whenever something happens. I was dumb enough to actually do them and this is the result, hope you enjoy! Also I did record this a few days before SMT V release so if things are slightly outdated, that's why.

    Seeing video in the sub feed.
    Me: Welp, time for Omni to roast IGN again!
    Edit:
    After watching the whole vid:
    Everyone in reverse order: 1 and only makes small comparisons and acknowledges it as its own thing.
    IGN: 7! and 4 (or more) in the first few seconds of the review!
    Me:(relatively oblivious to IGN's youtube reviews): ........ Jesus dude stop.

    Honestly, smt five is harder than Nocturne, in nocturne there's the buff-debuff cycle you get into when bosses start using dekaja/unda, but sp costs are so expensive, marakukaja is essentially nocturne rakukaja so you're very mp hungry combined with absurdly tanky bosses. This has been the hardest game in the series combatwise that I've played, but I am playing it on hard, lower difficulties might be more approachable

    • @deancasett9348
      @deancasett9348 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I've been playing on hard as well and what I noticed right away is, not only are the mp costs higher, but the debuffs don't last the whole fight anymore AND you can't debuff as much as you used to be able to. Just two levels lasting three turns, so you have to keep renewing it

    • @devranyilmaz9806
      @devranyilmaz9806 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You must be joking. SMT V loses its difficulty luster mid-to-late game. Once you get your hands on Luster Candy, Mediarama and Debilitate, nothing will ever challenge you ever again, provided you keep affinities in mind.
      It becomes Charge/Concentrate/Impaler’s Animus nuclear warfare that no demon can really stand up to anymore. And once you get your hands on the BEST demons like Zeus, Shiva and Demeter, you’re EXTRA unkillable.

      Personally have been only playing on Normal will start Hard soon but I think smt v buffing system makes it more engaging and makes you think twice about buffing for the whole fight due to the duration and mana cost compared to in nocturne when in the first 3 turns of the fight you would spam buff/debuff and ignore it until the boss throws dekaja/dekunda. Based on personal calculations, I think the effect of the buffs and debuffs are still worth the mp even though its not as op as in nocturne
      Still doesn't personally make it the hardest game in the series especially around mid-late game where Phys Block skill and dampeners makes the game somewhat a breeze

    • @ttarzzxz3711
      @ttarzzxz3711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kuroboticuse personally early game difficulty still matters, hell early game is the hardest part of the game in nearly every game due to limited resources. There's been a couple bosses like Surt who just keel over since you know Surt is coming, you give Nahobino null fire and win, but right after is Ishtar who has Pierce with seal status attached. Phys block is absurdly expensive so that isn't sustainable since bosses are so tanky. This game forces you to think with more than just your main team more than any other game in the series I've played

      @@devranyilmaz9806 I was never talking about Uber late game where you have all the things (and even then luster candy and debilitate are 3 times as expensive as Nocturne and strange journey, still twice as expensive with max support skill potential) This game forces the player to put more strategy into not only a main team, but also a backline with extreme mp costs. This game's difficulty is so well crafted in my opinion. Bosses are long, but never seemed unfair unless you are extremely under level

      @@all-stargam3rpunk Oh my god I completely forgot about that! That’s some classical garbage. Oh it’s honestly hard to choose between which is worse. I guess it has been almost 2 years since SMT V came out. The same thing happened when Engage came out, because apparently the only other Fire Emblem on the planet was 3Houses or something. I know P5 was a huge success, but you can not really compare Persona and SMT. One is a highschool dungeon crawler and social simulator and the other is a philosophical journey through a post apocalyptic wasteland. I don't think IGN even plays these games, since they can't even get the characters names right. I remember the Xenoblade review. They butchered all the names. I mean, I didn't play Persona 5, but I also do not like the gameplay. And the social sim aspect. SMT is also not my gameplay but I at least posess the knowledge to understand that SMT is not Persona. I think we really need an SMT 4 Remake. Because it is completely inaccessible as of currently. But hey, I'm just glad my friends had a good time with SMT V. I want everyone to have fun with what they are playing.

    IGN isn't a very reliable review site anymore, are they? Yeah, Persona's the spin off of SMT, but persona fans should expect by now that SMT is going to be different from their series. Sheesh, you don't see this behavior in the Rune Factory community. (For those unfamiliar, Rune Factory is a spin off series of Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons)
