Clacton Pier Night Fishing - Sea Fishing

This was quite nostalgic for me. I used to fish Clacton Pier at night about 50 years ago. There were no shelters on the berthing arm in those days. I remember fishing one particularly stormy night when I was the only person on the pier. I only had one bite all night, but the result was a double-figure Bass. Photos appeared in the Angling press of the day. I was really glad I took a drop-net with me, but to see me with my rod in one hand, the drop-net rope in the other, and a torch in my mouth, trying to land this fish in a strong tide and half a gale would have made a good video!
