I'm not surprised you liked the Balblair, I love old single grain whiskies but when they're matured in casks other than ex-bourbon as the grain soaks up the fantastic flavours sherry casks can impart, I don't like corn whisky on it's own but this one sounds intriguing, Caol Ila is always good albeit boring for me if they don't use some interesting casks. Cheers Vin, it was fun to watch!
It's hard to say if you would enjoy the Corn or not. the extra flavour does a lot for it, but if you already dislike the base liquid then I doubt it'll do anything for you

Great video, had always thought of the boutiquey range as a tad overpriced but have tried sone samples and its definitly great quality. Thinking if getting a canadian.
The Canadian is definitely the best value of the lot. Well worth a punt

Update: Received my bottle of the Canadian and agree with you, a sweet and smoky dram. Very nice stuff and definitely smoky bacon and maple syrup - it's going to go far too quickly I think!
That's the danger isn't it! I would say get a guard whisky for it, but it's pretty much a guard whisky in itself

Great review Vin. I like Balblair (12y/o) but unlikely to buy more, and not tried the the N/British or any Caol Ila, but I bought the previous bottling of the Canadian on the back of your review and nearly killed it far too quickly 😉 Based on my previous experience and on the back of this review, I've just bought this bottling of the Canadian (via your link) 👍 According to MOM, I had the last bottle! Phew 😅 Thanks for sharing 🥃🥃
