I tackled wiring on my m54 swapped e30 today and it hit me like a ton of bricks I had NO IDEA how this main harness lined up. YOU sir are a life saver.
Thanks for this video. It's better to see where each harness goes. I was having O2 sensor codes years ago and the shop couldn't find the problem. They told me I should look into replacing the wiring harness so I did it myself. I replaced the main one. Looking back, I should have replaced the second harness to the transmission because my problem didn't go away. LOL. I later discovered burned wiring to one of the O2 sensors.
Really good breakdown of the wiring harness for 2003 BMW 530i! I of course have a 2004 BMW 530 I, which, to be quite honest is extremely. Thanks again for a great breakdown of the harnesses well done
I was researching on the parts to buy as I am suspecting wiring issues since my E46/M54/MS43/'s fuse 30 keeps on blowing up (not every time thought) even when my key is just in ignition on position. After looking at your video, it became clear that is part of main engine harness. Thanks.
Most detailed and to the point video , very informative and descriptive. Thank you! I am considering on doing this to try and solve my eml issue I know a lot of these long connections get old and worn causing shorts
Thanks for the video! For the main engine harness, are you able to open up the plastic box all the wires go through while it's mounted on the engine? looking to splice in a new connector for the crankshaft sensor, but I don't want the terminals flopping around against the engine.
big ups on the video my headers in my e46 burnt out the lambda connectors male and female and i needed to replace the automatic transmision wiring harness i figured it out right before the video and i been trying to figure out where that hoses by the starter like it looks like its connected to the transmission is that the purge valve connector !? looking for months you should do some videos on certain hoses aswell very detail and great source of information ! thanks !
Do you happen to know if a m52 and m54 coil harness is the same? I just put a m52 harness on a m54 and cylinders 1,2 and have no spark but 4, 5 and 6 work. Great video good info
One more question, how feasible is it to replace the engine and ignition coil harnesses (not transmission one) without pulling the engine out? There are a couple that look like quite a reach.
Sorry for my ignorance, but on a manual 325i e46, does it have transmission harness? Since I been told that the computer could care less about what is going on with the transmission. And having said this, where would the O2 sensor be connected if it doesn't have a transmission harness.

Thank you. Glad i could help!
Dude excellent video! I'm sure I'll be watching it 100 times as I swap one harness to another engine... Thanks for your help!

Yes its nice that there are 3 separate parts it makes replacing them easier. Thanks
Did you remove your engine?

Thanks so much dude!! Life saver for swapping engines

You should be able too. You would just have to loosen it from the engine
Is it possible to install the engine back in along with the intake manifold?

What would the O2 sensor transmission wiring harness part number be for a 2003 525i manual?
Out of curiosity would you happen to have an engine harness for a 2002 m54 b30 motor for sale?
Great video bro, I'm planning on doing an M54 swap into my e46 with the m43, but the throttle is cable, will it work?
Will the main engine harness in a 2004 325 work in a 2001 325? Can I just switch the ignition harness?
Shouldn’t this video be called, how to disconnect all bmw wires?
Great video

the coil harnesses are the same from 99- 02. Thanks
I have a 2003 325i with the 5l40e trans. My wiring harness for the trans is bad. Is it possible to replace it with the engine/trans in the car?

Its not that hard. you can get to everything on the left side of it.
Is it possible to remove/install the main harness with the engine in the car
Hi, yes it it is! Thanks
How to disconnect all the harnesses and sell it in the ebay 😁👍
Hello, is there a site where the wiring diagram is, to know where each connector goes? Thanks for this video it was very helpful.
Im not sure. Most of the connectors are specific for the sensors.
How do you remove the engine without removing the intake manifold??
We take out the engine and trans together.
Wich is x6011 translucent connector?
How would i replace the middle copper color ground strap?
if it was damaged. If it seems ok it should be fine.
how do you tell which o2 wires are for what banks?
Bank 1 sensor 1 is the front most manifold top sensor! Bank 2 sensor 1 is on the rear most manifold. The 2 sensor is past the cat on each bank. Thanks
@@etwasbauen6615 i mean the wires coming from the trans loom or does it not matter which one they plug into
Bro a want to replace my 2004 bmw 318i engine to computer wire loom how can I do that😔
It should be the same process. Thanks

Hi , All good, it does, it just has one sensor i believe on it and it does have the o2 sensor on it.
