I've really come to like and respect AppJack. He's not just a great player, he's really personable, speaks well, has a great attitude... I'm a huge fan!
This was simply the best podcast I have ever watched, this video changed the way I think and act in the rocket league, it was great to hear ApparentlyJack's stories and routines, I am a big fan of his.
C1: Jack made me realize why I'm no good after playing with the boys for so long. They like to be on the ball constantly, so I've always been the 'support' role. With a lot of time in training (one mate has very little, the other has none), I'm more mechanically advanced, but very inconsistent in matches. I'm usually at the bottom, unless the other team is having a rough day.
people need to think more about, what is the best for the win, no what i can do, sometimes you only need to let your teammate go more, even if he is bad or miss most of the time, you need to think before you play, thats the key
Really appreciate and enjoy these podcasts you're doing Luke. Very good content man! ApperentlyJack brings really really high quality gameplay into very realistic down to earth way that connects very well with a lot of generally average players. Love you both guys! ❤
Amazing content and appJack is such a great bloke. I would be curious to ask questions that may lead into the future of pro gamers - do they need specific diets and exercise (shown to improve cognition, reflexes etc) and are they optimizing their capabilities from a physical point of view. Also props to Jack for calling out optic. I like Retals but he’s been talking big talk for a team that just doesn’t seem like they are going anywhere soon and downplaying good teams.
By what I've seen from other videos many pros usually wake up, do some kind of exercise to put them in a good mindset and to get some energy and fully wake them up, then they eat something for breakfast that has a lot of carbohydrates and proteins to give them the energy to play well in rl
Hearing Jack talking about demo’ing and using it or countering it reminds me that i was playing ranked and shooting for demos. The opposite team was getting mad and toxic that i was doing that and ff’d. I didnt mind because we won lol!
This Is the First Time for me that i've Heard someone Say to train to be the carry i've spent over 4k hours of my 5k (btw i left the game for 1+ year that's why i have tons of hours but I'm still no One) total Just in training Just to be that carry but no One ever said to me that's the right thing to do but i never listened to them and finally i found someone that believes in that training, honestly i feel really releaved to hear this for the First Time in 3+ years i Hope to be someone One day, atm I'm a High gc2 (Just generally in skill not ranked) and i really don't care much about ranked I'm Just focused in being the best version of my self. My dream Is to become the next player to learn a lot from. Thank you jack for your words.
these words might as well of been taken out of my very brain. i relate to everything, ive always trained to be the carrier and never listened to complaining people who whine about "ballchasing". my conclusion is that the community misunderstands "ballchasing" (training to be carrier). so so many people attribute ballchasing to "always speeding and hitting the ball fast" and lose their shit when they see YOU doing so, but what ive realized is that in actuality, BALLCHASING is hitting the ball ~WITHOUT PLAN~! NOT Speeding and banging the ball, both speeding and banging the ball can be done with exact precision and shouldn't be sacrificed because your teammate or opponent isn't humble enough to adjust to YOUR faster playstyle. In summary, people are falsely describing an important part of the game - SPEEDING UP in higher ranks and KEEPING PACE with teammates! all I think these days is STOP calling this ballchasing for christ sake.. Which means.. teammates or opponents who become enraged when you move faster than they can keep pace with are truly just disappointed with themselves and project / blame shift their errors onto you.
also p.s my quitting competitive back in s3 was the best thing i could have done for my skill hands down, not that this is a go to strat but for me personally aswell, casual and training have done wonders. everyones always surprised when I tell them "Sorry no, I don't play comp, quit it in s3." For me comp only ever added more pressure to preform which dampered my skill progression, removing competitive removed the restraint on my progress and allowed me to really take flight with my skills, you and me have a similar skill progression!
I played with a super aggressive offensive player most of my comp 2s games. I got stuck being the conservative defender who comes in only when I know it’s safe for goals. Playing solo que has helped get out of this a bit. But still trying to break out of the too passive play style
I can literally say. I put this on in Freeplay since it came out. And I've climbed from D1 to d3 in less than a week. Comfortably. Not fighting for the rank either
I was D1 before watching this, you won't believe what happened later. I hitted d3 finally just because of some tips. tysm luke and apperentleyjack you two are the best!
I'm trying to figure out the difference in ranked and competitive that Jack was talking about. Is it that he is good at noticing and Capitalising on mistakes that normal players make so he had an easier time in ranked? People scrimming not making those types of mistakes often?
Jack is the best! Says a lot of things I feel in my bones. Lol demo's is like blitzing in the NFL. High risk, high reward. It works and it's tough, but the best QBs are so good at countering it, like Mahomes, Brady, that teams stop doing to for the most part. For the NBA it's the double team. Doing it on prime Harden worked, but doing it on Curry is pointless. RL is its own beast. Demoing as a team is epic, when its in rotation and high leverage situations.
Hey Luke! So I have tried getting into my DM’s and did see the Double Counter message, but for some reason wher I first opened it, it already said it didn’t approve. Anything I’m missing?
I really hope everyone knows how high risk trying to “go pro” in any game is. Your time could be spent much wiser into something better. I don’t mean it negatively if you know the risks of wasting all that time to never get anything out of it and still want to try then go for it!! But it is one of the most high risk low return endeavors you could possibly choose.
ye, 6mans is for the best players, i mean, i have gc2 level, no gc2 in ranked because i dont play the game too much, and ranked much less. you should be at least gc to start in 6mans, but most of "good players" in 6mans are gc3 or higher
Luke: how do you pump so many videos out? APP: bc I have it like that and you don’t (in the nicest way) 😂. Luke’s interviewing skills are GOAT quality. The rl community NEEDS more of this
What if you were the type of person that wanted to be both? I practice a ton on mechanics to make goals from ground shots all the way to double flip resets. But I always try to play smart and use mechanics in specific situations… Edit: I typed this before he said to be an all around player my bad. But on another note I love being any position my teammates don’t want to play. I grind EVERYTHING I just want to be able to do anything I want whenever I want.
The more I listen to this man the more I question everything I know about the game. Jack is top tier man, too good
