This is a tall tank! 9:07 tall tank probs 🤣 Good thing you had Quinn's huge muscles to help you 💪 lol. Very nice overall. Looking forward to part 2! Thanks bros!
The only thing I didn't account for having a 48x24x30 tall tank was the lighting. Most lighting only penetrates to around 24" and the light I had didn't light up the bottom very well. Ended up with 2 Kessil 160 Tuna Blues and made a world of difference. It just wasn't cheap. Clleaning it is definitely a pain in the ass. I bought a black steel Gorilla step ladder from Home Depot. It has platform steps and it has made maintenance much easier. It fold up skinny and its very hideable. A flipper is worth every penny in a tall tank yours!! I just udgraded the Max Edge and that thing is a beast. I love it!! I did have mine made with an overflow box for a sump cause I really wanted to hide everyhing, but the tall tank definitely needed more water movement near the bottom. Rather than a wave maker on the side glass, I bought a Sicce Shark Pro to act as both a water polisher AND a wavermaker. It was very hideable be square and black. It worked even better than I had hoped. It's an awesome set-up, guys. I can wait to see scaped and stocked!!
Congratulations on the new tank! I can't wait to see how the stocking and decor turn out. Having new dimensions to work with definitely provide some different options! It's also concerning to see how far your MTS has progressed :) Would Troy from the first video on the channel ever have envisioned this type of basement? Keeping an eye out for part 2!
Instead of a step stool, consider an aluminum folding work platform. I’ve never seen any large aquarium owners use one which blows my mind. Should make taking care of long/deep aquariums so much more convenient.
I have a 37gal that's same length and width as a 20 gallon and 29 gallon. But like a 29gal being taller that the 20gal, my 37gal Is taller than both. So it feels like it's super tall in comparison. I have various corys on the bottom with Kribensis, and Angel's in the upper column drifting about with a school of Galaxy Rasboras acting as the dithers. Can't have any small tank complete without an oddball.... so there's also an albino sailfin bristlenose on clean up duty with a very active little Hillstream Loach.
I reside in Florida and thus I do not have a basement. But even if I did, I would prefer to not to have to carry a huge, expensive tank down any stairs. After watching so many tank relocation videos, I think I will make sure my next home has a some sort of garage door sized entrance to my future fish room. So many people build a separate fish building away from their main homes. This serves two purposes: one it cuts down on flood damage if a tank breaks, and 2 it allows the building to have its own electrical grid, which is helpful during hurricane season.
The 36" height looks awesome but man they are hard to scape, especially with big rock and plants. Luckily one I did was Eurobraced so I just stood inside of it on the sand.
so cool! I’m wanting to get a tank similar to this. What glass did you go with? Tempered? untempered? ultra clear? just curious what your thoughts are on if any upgrades to the glass are with it 😊
So my guess is its gonna be a discus/angelfish angel community tank or a Tanganican rock dweller/african oddball. They would make the most since with the height of the tank, a lot of asian and australian species would prefer more length over depth.
Curious about your filter placement and wavemaker. Not sure if this is because you are still in cycle mode, but I noticed you have your filter intake in the middle of the tank. I have a MUCH smaller set-up (tall 38g), but I have my canister intake closer to the bottom, and my wavemaker same side at the top. Some days I feel it should look a little cleaner in there and I always wondered if I was utilizing my equipment to the best of it's ability, especially as a tall tank. Any reasoning for your placement?
Yo Troy, I have question, I’m planning to get a 90-100 gallon tank. And I would like to get 2 severums, 5 Geophagus tapajos or sveni and 3 EBA would you think that would work?
@cichlidbros hey I got a very urgent question I did a water change and all 3 of my fish are just staying behind my filter and sometimes turn there body sideways any ideas?!
That viewing window.. ❤❤❤
Awesome. Thats going to be crazy to clean the bottom area. Cant wait to see what your putting in this tank. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing
Ohhhh I love tall tanks. I can’t wait to se what fish your going to put in.

That would be a cool lake tanganyika cichlid tank!
Fired Up!!! Looking forward to part 2.

This new tank is sweet. You don't see tall ones like that everyday. Can't wait for part 2!

Thanks, Sandy! Very excited!
Multiple aquariums and a bar any chance I could live in your basement 😂looks great can’t wait to see it with fish in 👍
Buddy I think there's a TV around the corner. You'd better replace that with a fish tank too 😂
This is a tall tank! 9:07 tall tank probs 🤣 Good thing you had Quinn's huge muscles to help you 💪 lol. Very nice overall. Looking forward to part 2! Thanks bros!
Haha thanks Joe! I think Quinn's overcompensating a bit lol
@CichlidBros i think so too ha
Can't wait to see the finished product 👍👍
Coming soon!
Since Quinn told it is 15 gallons less than 150 gallon aquarium ...its really a huge tall tank.
Good to see the growth of the channel bro ❤😊
Ese filtro es muy pequeño para ese acuario !!

It's an awesome set-up, guys. I can wait to see scaped and stocked!!
Clearly this is going to be an Angel and Discus tank. Festivums would be the wild card.
There could always be other wild cards…
Good luck!
I love the new tank! It’s a great addition!
Thank you!
Nice 👍👍
Awesome tank! Totally missed a “PIVOOOOTTTT!!” Cut scene, but apart from that everything went great! Good luck for future plans
Haha very true! I was a stressed as Ross in that scene. Thanks for watching!
Awesome!.,,

That would be an altum angelfish tank if I got that size . A really nice tank for your fish room
Definitely a Tanganyika tank
Hi all the way from Kuwait Great video
Thanks for watching!
Now I’ll be racking my brain all day thinking of stocking options for a tank with this shape!😂
Discus?
*You need to get Altum angels for this one! The biggest angelfish!*
Troy = we/team
Quinn = me/my muscles (my brothers need me!) 😅
Looking great fellas!
😂 thanks man
Nice. You keep custom aquariums in business lol!
Awesome
Altum angels? 🤞🙏

tall tank. Altums probably :)
that tank is great but good luck siphoning the substrate you need a pool vacuum lol :)
With proper flow in the tank, never have to touch the substrate 😃
PIVOTTTTT!!!!
😂😂😂
Walks in like the terminator with a hammer in his hand lol priceless

I’d stock with angels and Congo tetras

Gotta have discus.

Dope tank . Where did you get those movers from to move the aquariums?
Congratulations bavercisulemagne 🎉
Thanks!
Troys favorite sand: sunset gold
My favorite sand: Home Depot play sand😅😅
so cool! I’m wanting to get a tank similar to this. What glass did you go with? Tempered? untempered? ultra clear? just curious what your thoughts are on if any upgrades to the glass are with it 😊
I did ultra clear non tempered for the viewing panels. 5/8in thickness
Is the table blocking the heater
So my guess is its gonna be a discus/angelfish angel community tank or a Tanganican rock dweller/african oddball. They would make the most since with the height of the tank, a lot of asian and australian species would prefer more length over depth.
What’s the Heater are you using?
Your discus would enjoy the height of that aquarium.
I wish I could afford a little salt water tank like that with a few clown plecos! What does something like that run? The one on your desk.
narrow tank for small fishes only, lightly planted maybe, sprigs with anubias family, dont go anyting needs soil. good luck
I love the look of these tall tanks but I'd be worried about having difficulties with maintenance. Maybe they're not too bad really.
A question: do you test the water to check the cycling?
Yes
Curious about your filter placement and wavemaker. Not sure if this is because you are still in cycle mode, but I noticed you have your filter intake in the middle of the tank. would you think that would work?
What ato kit are you using for the salt water tank
- Flipper ATO: geni.us/elfaR
Right on ,thank you
What are the dimensions and how much was the stand and tank?
I thought the fx6 was your favorite?
Past few years it’s been the whale 🐋
How is that sand so clean
Carib sea 💪🏼
what are the dimensions on that beast? looks 36 tall for sure?
I have a 45 gallon that looks alot like that obviously just a few gallons shy of yours
Hmmm, tall fish, a tall cichlid🤔
@cichlidbros hey I got a very urgent question I did a water change and all 3 of my fish are just staying behind my filter and sometimes turn there body sideways any ideas?!
I would test your water for ammonia or nitrite and check your temperature. Also make sure you added dechlorinator correctly
"30 inches or taller needs a steel reinforced stand." Me: what if somebody had a 500 gallon lowboy
I hope you have long arms..😊
Please setupe asap sir
tank dimensions?
48x18x36
How the h%ll can you add sunset gold without rinsing? If I don't spend an hour per 80 lbs it's terrible. And will NOT settle
I have a legit question. Why do the bloody h*ll make basement stairs so narrow?!!! I held my breath when they hit the corner.
No PIVOT reference at the bottom of the steps? I’m sorely disappointed haha
Lol missed opportunity
I'll tell ya what I'd do with a million dollars
That’s fuckin cool..
Mines only 3foot deep and its to deep
