So very sorry you're faced with this debilitating disease, Naima. I'm going into my six month of it, and the depression seemed to hit since I've tried most of the things you have. Did want to mention that I recently started getting therapeutic body massages, taking NAC with Glutathion (6000 mg a day), Nattokinase (8000FUs per day) and Vitamin K2 (100 mcg/day along with Vitamin D, 10,000 units a day). I've done a lot of research on NAC (N-acetylL-cysteine) and there seems to be quite a bit of science backing it up. That's the entirety of supplements I take, no other drugs. I'm a vegan, if that means anything. Unfortunately, I live in the US, so we have to pay an exorbitant price for all medical treatments. I've chosen the homeopathic route to save money and not allow the medical industry use me for a lab rat. That being said, with the recent addition of the massages and the high doses of NAC, I've seen a huge difference. The limb and back pain has subsided very much, I don't have a headache or vertigo for the first time in 6 months. Anything positive is good at this point. I really think it was the massages that made the biggest change. Wanted to share my small success with you, in case you want to try it. Oh, and Serrapeptase made me so, so much sicker. I stopped it almost immediately. Good luck with this horrible disease. Do your research before you listen to me. I've had some success and would like for you to be able to say the same. I've been watching you through torturous journey. Best of luck.

Hi, lovely summary. In addition to the massage, I recomend craniosacral therapy. It is a gentle touch but work deep into the body in holistic way.. And it can help with tightness of the membrane surrounding the brain which for me is always a huge relief. Plus working deep on the nervous system which in my case has been a big thing after last Covid. Beyond my own ability to calm it down in a long run. Good luck and all the best.

A really useful video and echoes my own experience. Quercetin/Vit C high dose helped me best as anti-histamine, rather than medication. I think your statement that it is about supporting recovery is the key. Anything we can do to support the body's healing process (as painfully slow as it is) is important. Thank you for your videos.

Thanks so much for this video - I’m just over my third bout of covid and have suffered with long covid previously, and I’m really struggling with chest pain at the moment.
I’m finding that drinking fresh ginger, turmeric powder, black pepper and cayenne tea (if you can stomach it and take the heat!!) and foam rolling on my upper back and shoulder blades, to open up the chest, is helping alleviate symptoms for a good couple of hours.
Also recommend a book called ‘Breathe’ which looks at ways to improve our respiratory.
Good luck to everyone on the road to recovery - I feel your pain 🫠

Since having covid last April I have had 2 problems: almost continuous headaches and sleep problems. I found NAC to be as good as paracetamol for reducing my headaches. A 600 mg NAC capsule usually works for me for about 10 hours. I use magnesium to help sleeping but I had problems getting the dosage right. If I take too much (more than 100 mg/day) I can be sleepy during the following day as well.

I've had long covid for 2.5 years. I wasn't very sick with covid. It was like a stomach flu with loss of taste and smell. I felt better within 2 days. A few months later my health started to decline. My first symptoms were severe anxiety and depression, then heart issues, fatigue, pots, head pressure. Pressure behind my eyes, ears, and the roof of my mouth. Gagging and throwing up for no reason. No stomach pains or nausea. I think my brain was swollen. Now I only have brain fog and some heart issues left. One thing I noticed is I can't tolerate car emissions. If I ride in a brand new car I'm ok. In an older car I feel dizzy and like I'm going to pass out. Anyone notice any sensitivities to car emissions like me?

This is great info thank you for sharing. I have been recovering from covid and I take most, but not all of what you suggest. I believe they have helped I also take a baby aspirin a day for any unknown mini clots. Now that was suggested by my med. professional and anyone should get consult from their own dr before taking. Mostly for Me I work part time right now, and when malaises kicks in I go to bed and rest, try to get a little sun, eat a balanced diet, stay away from processed foods, and eat Whole Foods in natural state. I also drink chamomile tea, along with other teas, I incorporate tymne herb, which is helpful for the lungs, antihistamine daily, try to be mindful of eating anti histamine foods, keep stress low, that includes emotional stress. It all seems to be helping. It's been a slow recovery but since I have learned all of the above I have noticed my recovery is speeding up. Anyways hope my info can help someone out there. Good luck guys

I take vitamin D, as advised by my doctor, like you 2. Vitamin B complex, as recommended by friends, which I give a 2.5. 2.5? They are very cheap, so if the marginal improvement is coincidence / placebo effect, fine. I give magnesium supplement a very strong 3. I go for the transdermal "oil" stuff. If I don't slather some on before bed I will wake up for halftime break much sooner than normal, and in way more pain than normal. As it helps brain and muscles it does so much for fatigue. Epsom salt baths are magnesium supplement in strong form, imo. Epsom salt and magnesium oil can be found for a fraction of price of high street chains, where the markup is ouch.
Overall a huge difficulty is that supplements are poorly regulated in UK. I find it so ... adjective that we are left guessing and dabbling like this.

On the tremors/vibrations, I had those. At the start of my long covid experience (Jan 21) they were almost unbearable, shaking all night and not sleeping. Utterly awful. It eventually calmed down a bit, and then calmed down further when I started taken transdermal oestrogen, which I guess might be useful for women but not men. I still get the tremors in the morning if I have not slept well or if I am very tired or have just done too much (which, at this stage, is not very much). But it is more manageable and not for hours at a time. I hope you see improvements.

I got paxlovid even though I wasn’t suffering from acute covid. Did this in the states. Not a supplement but it took away my chest pain, light sensitivity and most of my headaches by the second day. Took two courses back to back over 10 days. Hope they start researching antivirals like this soon for all our sakes.
Baby aspirin has helped a lot of my joint pain and strangely some of my breathlessness. Im also taking it with Lumbrokinase and nattokinase.
Fexofenadine plus famotidine seems to really help but I take them an hour apart. Notice this helps my aches and my post covid reflux.
Supplement wise, I find probiotics, prebiotic inulin, acerola powder in waterfor vit C, flax+chia+hemp powder in smoothies really helps my digestion. I take vit d3 and b12 as well as turmeric with piperine and Ginger. Fish oil I take as well. Beano really helps control gas and bloating I find.
Melatonin and magnesium taurate at night for sleep and chest pain. The magnesium really helped my pain I noticed. If I miss it it seems to come back.
Medication wise, I’m looking forward to starting low dose naltrexone and Mestinon soon. They both seem to have recent studies supporting their use in me/cfs, long covid and pots.

We have quite similar symptoms! Month four was really tough for me, but things started to improve at the 6 month mark (even if I couldn't tell at the time). Hang in there and find ways to calm your nervous system - Yoga Nidra, breathwork, meditation. Looking back it took me so long to get out of fight or flight and allow my body to heal, but since doing that I'm more comfortable and have to hope my recovery will speed up.

@@naimaella sorry to hear about your ongoing chest pain. it really is one of the most uncomfortable/unpleasant pains I’ve experienced ever. My “laying down” chest pain is gone but I still get a chest pain if I’m upright for too long (it fades after laying down with my feet up). Not sure of the exact cause but I read about there being “preload failure” in me/cfs and pots, which sounds like the heart doesn’t get enough blood being returned to it when upright or during exertion, resulting in some of the symptoms of exercise and orthostatic intolerance. This is at least what Systrom argues in his study on me/cfs and Mestinon. This may just me psyching myself out before starting a medication in hopes of having a good experience. I’ll keep you posted on how my Mestinon experience goes!
I have a friend (in her 30s and previously healthy) who was prescribed colchicine after being diagnosed with gout and myocarditis post covid. It sounds like it helps her but she still struggles with on and off chest pain. She recovered from the myocarditis but the gout issue still lingers.
Paxlovid is strangely very easily available in the US now. I used a robo doc online service and just said I had an acute infection and was high risk and got it prescribed (this was not the case but being in LC hell I was willing to lie). This is perhaps the only perk to the Wild West American healthcare system (being able to take advantage of the lack of regulation and organization here). I wonder how many of us have viral persistence because it was amazing how rapidly I felt better despite being 3 months out from “recovering” from my acute infection and extremely unwell in the weeks prior. I went from entirely dependent on others for almost everything to being able to make simple meals for myself and shower every night. I really hope they get some trials underway on this.
I’ll be going to a naturopath here which is more money than I want to spend but from other long haulers here I’ve heard they can be helpful in guiding people towards effective supplements, healing modalities and in some states (like California) can prescribe medications. There’s definitely some quackery to sift through but some are more evidence based while still being holistic.
The nervous system calming work is super important. I totally agree! So far I’ve really found relief in Yoga Nidra and taking a hot shower (laying on the tub floor due to POTS) followed by 30 seconds of cold water (all I can handle for now). I tried wim hof but it felt too intense/tiring so had to give it a break. I’ve really found relief in breath work when having to be on the move (going up the stairs when coming back from an appointment). I’d like to try Susy Bolt yoga soon but will need to start out on a very low level given how vulnerable I am to crashes right now.
