    Thanks 1A Auto, you saved me over $900 parts & labor, Pep Boys wanted over $1,100 parts & labor for both front struts & claimed it would take over 2 hours, I did both sides in less than an hour using a floor jack. Now I'm off to get a $50 alignment.

    The stud coming out of the (OEM) upper sway bar link has a 5 mm hex socket that you can use to keep it from turning while you remove the nut. It's easy to miss!

    I’m getting ready to change front struts on my 08 Camry. I’ve heard ( when changing struts in general ) the weight of the vehicle should be on the wheel or a floor Jack before torquing the three top nuts to avoid possible damage to the strut bearings. Is this not the case with the Camry?

    Don't buy these struts. I've installed these quick struts on my '02 Lexus and the ride quality is terrible. I had a much better ride with the original 20 year old struts. I would suggest kyb or Monroe.

    Will the same 07-11 camry struts fit all trims (base, le, se, xle) ?
    In other words, if a pair of kyb plus struts fit an '09 Camry LE, is there any reason why those same struts wouldn't work/fit an '09 Camry SE (assuming same engine size, no mods, etc; only different trim)? Thank you.

  • @JamesG...

    So. Replacement struts and bars for the front are more solid than the original??
    My '09 seems fairly stable. Yet there is that sway to it.

    Thanks for the video - it is always helpful to see the exact operation and pointers. A couple of questions I have though. Who manufactures these struts you sell from A1?
    Operationally, It just really appears from reading numerous posts where the Sway bar links are original or have been on the vehicle for some time - to me it seems that I should just plan on cutting the sway bar link off from the get go... (2009 Toyota camry LE with one original sway bar and one that was replaced 2 years ago) In this case I am thinking just go directly to the bottom connection (Sway bar connected to the link arm) and remove the strut as outlined but with the link attached to save time and aggravation? Thanks for your video and info

    After I changed my strut I had a lot of positive camber. I took it to the shop and they said it was the tie rods, then the end link, then another shop said I needed a camber kit. I did all of that but still I have positive camber. How can I fix this

    • @Wes_5kyph1
      @Wes_5kyph1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you ever fix the positive camber issue? You said it started after you changed a 'strut' meaning you only changed 1 strut and not 2 at once?

    I have a Toyota Camry 2007 Hybrid. The gas pedal can sometimes randomly become unresponsive while driving. The car still has power and everything else works, but it will not accelerate and slowly glide to an eventual halt as if it were on neutral. No unusual sound or anything when I press on the pedal, just zero acceleration. If I pull over and restart the car, everything becomes normal again. This happens a few times a day. Any idea what it could be? The dashboard is showing check vsc and hybrid system. I also checked the obd but the only codes that showed were regarding battery replacement.
    Thanks!

    if its just the strut boot thats broken can you change that or is it just easier too replace the whole assembly

    • @Eyeofnelms
      @Eyeofnelms 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IMHO it's easier to change out the whole thing. Removing the boot means removing the strut mount, which also means dealing with a spring that is under 2 tones of compression force. Said spring can easily injure or even kill those who are careless.

    • @Tr33People
      @Tr33People 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Eyeofnelms I keep thinking about this and unless the spring was to shatter or you were to do something very stupid spring compression is safe. Just keep your face and body away from either end just in case.
