  • Here I am, ready to go for a ride on the RS when it fails to start. Could it be that the battery is no good anymore? It was on a trickle charger all along so what gives? Maybe the charger is not charging it properly. Check out the video as I try to figure out how much money I have to spend to resolve this.

I have had a few batteries fail on the trickle charge.you are right though, that voltage should get it turned over.

That's what I thought ... but it was not holding the charge. Stay tuned ... there's more.

You may need a battery tester, they are cheap, and those things can measure voltage and the CCA cacapiblity of your battery. If you test it only with a multimeter it may show 12,5v (for example), but the battery won´t start the bike because it can´t discharge fast enough (CCA busted).
If you have a 12v spare battery, connect it using the red plug and ground it somewhere. If then the bike starts with no issues, the battery that you have installed is damaged for good.

Thanks. I see that they start at about $60 on Amazon and I may pick one up since I could use it on many vehicles in the family. I already solved the issue BTW (watch for the next video or 2 😉)
