Fun story, when I my local team won the first division title nobody was even aware they won. That is how much football is followed in Venezuela. I do like to say that my dad, an Italian immigrant to Venezuela, was probably one of the first people who brought the sport to the country. Compare to baseball football barely gets any attention and the domestic leagues are riddled with corruption. The baseball league is too, but to a lesser extent.
