On January 16, 1979, the then Shah of Iran, left Iran commencing what became a 19-month odyssey to exile in Egypt, Morocco, Bahamas, Mexico, US, Panama, and back to Egypt again where he passed away. His death had profound consequences for the future of the middle east and the world, yet the untold medical story of the late Shah of Iran has to date remained a puzzling mystery. This documentary leads viewers to the main causes of the Iranian revolution, pursuant hostage crisis, and the state of relations between the U.S. and Iran.
Reviews:
"I know a bit about the history of the Middle East, but I learned many thing in this film that were never made public to the American public back at the time of the Iranian Revolution. As someone who has worked in healthcare for decades, I am not as surprised by the egotism of some of these surgeons that led to the Shah's unnecessary suffering. This is very educational and gripping at the same time. The narrator is 5-star and even the music is perfect. Definitely recommend this film to anyone interested in international relations and the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis."

After succeeding to the Peacock Throne in 1941, when he was barely out of his teens, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi survived mortal threats that would have broken lesser men: the wartime invasion and occupation of his country, Communist subversion, a plane crash, assassination attempts, coup plots, dynastic intrigue, religious revolts, constitutional crises, and even a brief spell in exile. In an era when other kings and queens were forced from their thrones or reduced to a life spent cutting ribbons and shaking hands, the Shah bucked the tide of royalty in the twentieth century when he decided to rule as well as reign. Not content to merely gather power, in 1963 he embarked on his White Revolution, an ambitious program of social and economic reforms to transform Iran from a semifeudal baron state into a modern industrial powerhouse. Peasant farmers were freed from bondage to landowners. Forests and waterways were nationalized. Women were granted their civil, legal, and political rights. By the time the Shah staged his belated coronation four years later, Iran’s rate of economic growth outstripped those of the United States, Great Britain, and France. I have that book.
He trusted too much western Colonizers than more than one country people .. Same lost happened to Saddam Hussain . Why he house arrested PM mogaddigue ? And spent huge money for 2500 years of Persian Empire? 😂.His father was not even from an Aristocratic family . They were appointed by British in order to loot Oil. British appointed them and British removed him . West never allow a middle east country become rich and powerful .
@Avastidas Reza Shah was not from Royalty, he originally wanted to become President of Iran just like Ataturk of Turkey, but apparently the clerics wanted to retain monarchy fearing they might get stripped off of religious authority like what happened in Turkey when the Ottoman Caliphate was abolished. Hence, he took up the title of Shah.
@@harishashok6022 Turkey is now better situation than Iran . But then Why King Shah expelled own father to South Africa and house arrested PM Mossaddigue. and changed constututional monarch into Athocratic Monarch. He trusted western agendas . His twins sister worked for CIA and Rothschild . Karma punished him. He must be greedy of power to expell own father. And he spent a hige money for 2500 years of Persian Empire even though he was not from a Royal blood. He wasted country people's money for foriegners. Finally those jealous foriegners kicked away him when they used him maximum.
thank you so much it was awesome

Very interesting! Thank you for this documentary. But I didn’t understand the message at the end about the price of diplomacy with Iran.

Remarkably even-handed.
Thank you for your comment. 👍🏽❤️🎬
They killed him......a great man brought down to nothing because of oil. Sad😢.
Thanks you for your comment. 👍🏽❤️🎬
You left out the part where Mossadegh was appointed PM by the Shaw and then betrayed him!
So sad. Such medical incompetence.
♥️Shah♥️
👍🏽❤️🎬
The delay of medical care killed the shah. I say so because he left Iran in January of 1979 and was not operated on until October of 1979 in New York. The shah wasted his time seeking refuge in Egypt, Morocco, Bahamas, and Mexico.
👍🏽❤️🎬
I have respect for the shah and what and how it happened to him is indeed sad story. However , when I read the episodes of his life , I don’t find any information about his belief and connection with Allah Subhana hu taaalah. Can someone through some light on this aspect though this was his personal aspect of life but king’s life is public asset.

Unfortunately his wife. Made bad decisions at the ends of his reign telling him to release prisoners and arresting his top security individuals She also made bad decisions. Too go for star surgeons. If the Mexican surgeon had done his job unlike debakey he might have lived another5 years
The circumstances surrounding her car accident have led to various theories and discussions. Many believe there's more to the story than just an accident, sparking ongoing debates and investigations. Thank you for your comment!
Probably a lot longer if he had died a natural death. But I think the US government would have found a way to extradite him to Iran.
@@Official_Royalworld what car accident?
@@Official_RoyalworldWhy are you hearting this nasty vile comments that aren't even true? Today, majority of Iranians have regretted that foolish "revolution" and want their King/Shah back. His son, Crownprince Reza Pahlavi will succeed him and return to Iran. This anti-Shah bots are really desperate
The king of kings was mouse that ran away. Full of hot air
