This was a great tutorial of a fabulous song. Singing the bass line was a superb tip and also your breakdown of the how the off beat hits occur within this bass line literally transformed my playing and increased my enjoyment of this song (which was already a favorite).

The base line creates a counterpoint melody against the vocal melody. Plus play the base using double octaves. E and E more dynamic. I was Just a boy from south Detroit. Played originally in the key of F

Great lesson on a great song! I'm 18 months into my lessons, and have been used to only major triads with my right hand, but this broken chord technique is awesome. The stretch to the octave is something new for me, and my hand already hurts after 5 minutes of trying to get this down! Keep up the fantastic instruction, Jason!

Jason - I was just thinking the other day that I’m getting a bit bored with my usual songs and need to find something new… and here it is! A universal favorite. Thank you, and please do continue with the rest of the song.
Suggestion: “Take the Long Way Home” by Supertramp.

Learnt it couple weeks ago from you and clicked like) But now completely forgot and it comes to everything, how do you remember smth that you learnt(you cannot do a repetition of all songs that you played hence you cannot improuve the knowledge in long term((( ) I played some mellodies for 60 days strait, every day, after a month not repeating it I forgot ~60%. How do you master the skill if you forget what you learnt and no matter what you do?)
