    Content on how to make virtual instruments sound realistic is scarce on the Internet. The fact that this course is going to be provided entirely for free is a massive W for all amateur composers that don't have the luxury to work with real orchestras and/or multi-instrumentists. I will be waiting impatiently for Episode 2. Good job, EastWest!

      @astrah982 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      In general, what makes a sound sound 'midi' to people or keyboardish is the lack of variation. You do not want a sample to sound as if it's looping or have any moment in where it's the same as any moment before. Important factors are in between notes you want natural recorded transitions (true legato), and also dynamic reverb can mold a sound (the longer a note is held it will expand as it bounces off the walls of a room). Any kind of staccato, spiccato/short articulation of an instrument you want to have round robin at least x4 or above.

    Dear EastWest and Ryan Thomas, what you're doing now can be best described as "Generous". You're literally doing a free online course with each video lasts around 30 mins or more. Most online education YT vids are 6 or 10 mins max and the material is empty. Thank you so much for doing this.
    With that said, I grabbed your sweet offer of HOOPUS plus forbidden planet so that I can put everything in practice.
    Thanks again
    👍

    Awesome, definitely looking forward to more! That articulation at the end would be amazing to get working (using reaper which to my knowledge has nothing like that.) I tried both the reaper BRSO (outdated and not supported) and Reaticlate which was ok but it broke other stuff for me so I ultimately had to uninstall it. Definitely not as simple as highlighting a note and setting the articulation which is.... how simple it should be.

    How did you pull up the articulation drop down menu in the Logic Pro editor window? The articulation drop down menu is right below the scale quantize menu in your editor window, but I don't see it in my Logic Pro 10.8. How do I bring up the Articulation drop down menu so I can trigger key switch automation?
