  • This plays during the Chapter 9 battle with Inuart.
    This is an unpublished track from Drakengard, that is not on the OST 2 Disc release. They are all Game Rips,. as there is no other way of getting them. Most of them are just a slightly different arrangement of the in-game tracks.
    There are many other unpublished tracks, but they all have excessive voices or sound effects over them. If you think there's any I've missed, let me know

    I have the full album of Drakengard on my ipod. Not JUST Growing Wings. I even jam out to Mothers Song with the repetitive bells. Don't listen to what anyone says, I appreciate your efforts a great deal. I have always searched for the twisted version of Inuarts song during the air battle. The genre of Drakengard one's Nightmare Fuel sends chills down my spine, and I love it. Thank you again!

    Well, the music is unique enough that I don't mind if only a few seek it out. You ask fans of Drakengard 2 and Nier if they like Drakengard 1's music. Most will say "Yeah I like Growing Wings" and that's it.
    I do plan to continue uploading my own compositions at some time though. Got a few things planned.

    I'm in love with this game's soundtrack, themes, and its story.
    I appreciate a lot the upload of these tracks, since they're missing from the OST.
    There's just something so wonderfully twisted about this perversion of classical music samples.

  • @PuftPrin

    Hey, Drakengard's soundtrack is epic. Yes, I mean the first game, and yes, I have played everything Drakengard related. Sure, "Growing Wings" is a really good song; BUT, I am in love with "Chapter 2 In the Sky", THAT is a masterpiece in gaming. It really pulls you into the air, into the mind of a red dragon and Caim for that matter.
    That's what I love about this game in particular. The music really puts you into the mind of Caim, into the mind of a twisted Prince/Soldier. Compared to the other Drakengard games, his musical themes are chaotic, menacing, and so twisted that it will keep you raiding through hordes of enemies because...well, you just want to, just like Caim. We get to see and feel what drives him through hearing the music that I truly believe is playing in his mind throughout the entire game. The same could be said about Nowe and his themes. Notice that while Nowe still kills as many opponents as Caim does, he has a different attitude about it. He does it because he is defending himself, and therefore his themes are more dignified and organized (Still awesome, though.) Caim does it because, yes, it's a war, but that's just an excuse for him to live out his fantasies. He is so wonderfully demented. ( I know, I'm a nutcase) But blaaaah, I guess that's why I have all of the music stored in my libraries.
    And with that, I just wanted to thank you for posting these unreleased tracks. This is really awesome. Drakengard......forever underrated. :) Seriously though, I can't believe some people don't appreciate this high quality music. Oh well, to each his own, right?

      +PuftPrin I've been putting some thought into the game design differences between Drakengard and Drakengard 2 lately. I'm almost positive you don't kill as many enemies in Drakengard 2, usually somewhere around one hundred (more or less) in a typical story level compared to several hundred for Caim alone in an average Drakengard level. The enemies in Drakengard 2 are much stronger on an individual level than in the original drakengard, and to compensate, they have them fight as individuals in relatively spread out groups compared to Drakengard's formations. Then consider how Drakengard 2 rewards you more for fighting defensively and carefully, your block is effective against virtually all attacks, even magic, and you get that cool parry move for throwing your enemies off balance. In Drakengard the block move can be foiled by magic attacks, and it just doesn't feel as useful. You're much better off getting a running start, doing a dash attack into a formation, and mopping up any survivors with a combo attack, then moving on to the next one. Drakengard 2 forces you to defend yourself, while Drakengard encourages you to go berserk. Combine that with your point about the music, and you have all kinds of subtle clues informing you how to play the character, not just in gameplay but as role-play.

      " Drakengard 2 forces you to defend yourself, while Drakengard encourages you to go berserk. Combine that with your point about the music, and you have all kinds of subtle clues informing you how to play the character, not just in gameplay but as role-play."
      Yeah, that was my point. Regardless of the exact number of soldiers killed by Nowe and Caim, you still had to fight a lot of enemies. I even said that because Nowe is defending himself, his music is varies greatly from Caim's soundtrack. I'm the type of person who includes side mission kills into account as well, so that's why I said Nowe killed as much as Caim; however, I am certainly aware that Caim takes the cup for the most kills overall though. I just wish Drakengard 3 took the limits off kills because it is SO hard to get a 100 kill combo in that game compared to the others, even with that beautifully motivating soundtrack. In both D1 and D2, it's possible to reach that combo hit very easily. In D2's case, depending on the weapon you have and its level, you could get higher combos despite the lack of enemies in certain areas.
      I see what you're saying, but I my original comment was addressing the choice of music---and by all means, it was just to show the differences between Caim and Nowe's mindsets...it wasn't meant to be taken literally. lol.

    • @David_Axelord
      @David_Axelord 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +PuftPrin I'm not arguing with you, I was making a point about how the themes different themes you addressed each soundtrack are also informed by game mechanics and design (as you can see in the text you quoted from me), so there's no need to feel defensive :). I'm just interested in analyzing the differences between these two games.
      As to Caim and Nowe killing a similar amount, I think it's deceptive in Drakengard 2's case. If we're including side missions especially, it's not even close, remember that awful Free Expedition mission in the Blue Mountains where your objective is to kill practically every enemy on the map, who's total ends up being something like 1250? Then remember the scene in Drakengard 2 where Legna is hit by a cannon, and Nowe and Manah end up surrounded by a huge army of soldiers? But in actuality that huge crowd is only around a hundred enemies. If you're curious about comparing the actual kill counts, try going through a few missions in each game, killing every enemy on the map, then compare the kill counts from the results screen, you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about. At the same time, I know just what you're talking about, when I started playing Drakengard 2 I felt like I must have been racking up a kill count similar to what I would with Caim, and I'm very curious to know how the game manages to do that. I'm sure part of it is the increased difficulty of individual enemies, but there's probably something more to it too. Also I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who feels compelled to kill every last empire rat when playing as Caim ;P.

    • @PuftPrin
      @PuftPrin 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Like I said, Caim takes the cup when it comes to the ultimate kill count of all the Drakengard games, but I feel that Nowe's hands are just as dirty as Caim's as far as actual killing goes. Regarding Drakengard 2, I noticed that there are some levels that will not allow you to kill every single enemy, so I quickly realized that Nowe's mindset is different from Caim's. It isn't necessary to finish off every single enemy because Nowe just doesn't want to. So I'll say this, my statement was a figure of speech and was not to be taken literally. Actually, it was pretty rare to even get a kill limit in the original Drakengard, so I enjoyed terrorizing the battle fields as Caim, *someone* has to feed the ravens! I still own the games and every now and again, I'll go back and play them. As much as I love Drakengard, D2's combat is far superior and I'd rather play as Nowe all day. By the end of both my games, I'd max out both Caim and Nowe, so to me---they're both covered in other people's blood. Regardless of their mindsets, both had suitable music for the circumstances. The developers did a really good job with that. It's nice to find someone who enjoys good ol' Drakengard, too. Cheers! :)

      @David_Axelord 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +PuftPrin I admire the simplicity of the original Drakengard's combat system, I liked how the "finisher" attacks could only be performed at certain intervals in the combo, it made rhythm feel very important in fighting, which complemented the chaotic music, and looking back, prepared the player somewhat for the "rhythm game" fight with the Watcher Queen. That said, I can see how it can become boring after a while, and the camera controls sort of hinder a lot of what you can do (dodge rolls and blocking become very inefficient). I'd say I like the combat of both games equally, but find Drakengards to be "cathartic" while Drakengard 2's is "rewarding". And I absolutely prefer Drakengard 2's flying controls, Legna feels so much faster and more nimble than Angelus, though I miss Angelus's inspiring dialogue "Let nothing that values life stand before us, none are stronger than we are now!" XD
