Transferred my channel to a brand account yesterday; seems that the process went fairly smoothly apart from the fact that all comments I made using my prior account are now gone, which is just lovely.
Anyways, this dual mashup combines Chapter 13: Closing from the first Drakengard game with the arrangement from Drakengard 3's BGM Remix DLC pack. Special thanks to UnreleasedGameMusic for already having uploaded the three main versions of the latter (Quiet, Medium and Dynamic) as one seamless medley, made my job much easier.

my best friend who is a musically trained heard me listening to this from the other room and he asked "wtf are you listening to?" i asked why? he said " it sounds fucking horrible and its making me uncomfortable" so i went and played the drakengard one and the soundtrack in general for him
HE HAAAAAAAAAATED it lol it genuinely made him uncomfortable he said the music didnt make sense to his ears it was pure chaos. He said it had all these elements layered on each other and felt like frankenstein music like a bunch of things stitched together and it was very unpleasent. He left the room lmao told me it was making him feel sick and uneasy.
I laughed and i told him thats exactly what the music is meant to do. The game its from is extremely dark and the music is meant to give an uncomfortable horror esc vibe. What its doing to u is what it was made for lol
Is scary but later at some time I got use to it .
Pretty much. The entire Drakengard experience as crafted by Taro, even down to the gameplay mechanics, is intentionally meant to grate on you, frustrate you, and make you experience the same 'Hell' discomfort that the characters are going through. Just the visuals weren't enough, just the grim narrative wasn't enough, Yoko Taro wanted players to suffer alongside the cast on some physical level as well. That's what makes the game such a memorable experience for people who played it all the way until the end. We all went through hell together.

Even if the queen beast isn’t zero (which i just know she is in some way or form) it’s definitely an intoner fully consumed by the flower.

It is pretty much confirmed it is fully corrupted Zero either from ending C or revived/escaped from the seal of Ending 4 when broken.
Which is the seal that is broken in Drakengard 1 which is the continuation of Drakengard 3 ending 1.

In the second half, Zero looks indeed uncannily simmilar to Grotesquerie Queen.
I always tought she was her anyways.
I mean, same power of song, both are female, both look near identical with the exception of Queen Beast being bald..... there's no way there isn't a connection. I'm firmly under the belief that they're the same entity as well, especially with Accord hinting at the idea that Zero is still alive somewhere after Ending D.

@@youngkappakhan I've heard so as well, but I've always taken that with a grain of salt. The whole point of all the Drakengard games was that no one ending was ever canonically meant to lead into the next installment. (Not counting DOD1 ending E, but keep in mind that was never planned to branch off into Nier originally. It was a joke ending).
So basically, In DrakeNier there's never a single ending that isn't "canon", they always branch off into their own different timelines and universes. There's also a lot that simply doesn't make sense following the novel's portrayal of events, such as... if Zero and the Flower died, then who or what is the Queen Beast? Another entity that just so happens to be capable of destroying humanity with the power of song? It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense for The Flower to infect Zero and create a new "Queen Beast" if one already existed anyways. So at the end of the day it just leaves more questions than answers which I find unsatisfactory especially since unless Drakengard gets some sort of revival, we'll likely never get those discrepancies clarified.
Also the DOD3 novel wasn't written by Yoko Taro, he only supervised it. So even more reason I take it with a grain of salt...

Not really sure what you mean? Like yeah, Route C is quite literally the "Worst case scenario" timeline, which even Accord acknowledges. But I don't know what that's meant to do with what I said.
From 1:50 to 2:08, I just love how violent the bells sound and then they get silenced and all we can hear are the strings. A perfect transition to the next section.

FYI Mr. Casual, Intoners are literally the basic form of Queen Grotesquerie. DOD3 Final Boss is literally the MC turning into Queen Grotesquerie, and this info is fully confirmed in the FF14 Nier Automata Collab where the Final Boss is literally DOD3 MC's Queen Grotesquerie form Replica "Her Inflorescence" where it's also called a Queen Grotesquerie.

@@christopherbravo1813 since Mikhail is the reincarnation of Michael, which is the most powerful dragon in the entire Drakengard/Nier universe, I think the watchers in Drakengard 1 were definitely weaker. what really made the difference was that they were an entire army and, because of this, almost unstoppable
Honestly, the original piece makes great use of silence and that's lost when it gets all embellished like this. But this is still good in its own right.
Have you heard the Chaotic Song? I think it makes good use of Intoner (queen beast)'s voice from her perspective while the original song in Drakengard maybe from the humans' view so it's mostly silent and only bells.
I actually really like the DOD3 version for DOD3 maps, when other branches just get messy. It's pretty and I think fits for DOD3.
All I have to say is holy shit. I did not expect a single 2017 game to open the doors to a world that is just tragedy after tragedy. From learning about the lore of Drakenguard to Nier, it's just something so breathtaking.
The fact that the concept of the Intorners, the queen beast to the meaning of Replicant/Gestalt and Automata...man.
And it comes with a horrifying, eerie, yet beautiful and tragic soundtrack???

You know if the DrakenNier universe ever gets a complete happy ending for all involved this would be a great final boss theme for that true happy ending.

@@Tony-lw5yp one could argue that automata was taro's way of bringing zero back to nothing, with the destruction of The Tower, the last remnants of the flower's influence, one could argue that it's finally over. And in a way it is, all that's left to do now is to find a way to prevent the events leading to Automata by quite literally returning to Zero to seal the deal properly...

If we ever fully destroy the flower/watchers across all of multiverses I expect something like this to be the OST. And in the true yoko taro style we will learn that the flower/watchers were the lesser of two evils and we ended up destroying any hope for a happy ending by killing them

I dunno why this speaks to me so much lol. Been following Yoko Taro's works ever since 2003. The fact that Automata became a big hit and suddenly the franchise is getting more attention after YEARS of being an obscure, small cult following still blows my mind. That said, as much as I love the NieR side of things, I would be elated to see some more love for Drakengard. Maybe revisit an early DoD3 idea and release Drakengard 5 lol

There's something weirdly addictive about this song. My first time listening gave me a headache, but the dissonance and rhythm was fascinating, so I sat through the entire thing. Now, I find it kind of soothing but also disturbing? I like leaving this song on in the background while I study. I think the reason I like it is the rhythm the bells and percussion create...or maybe I'm developing white chlorination syndrome lol.

What if we've been looking at the timeline all wrong ?
For example, what if there are actually two Cathedral Cities (although the city is said to be on the Iberian Peninsula, in the original game, it's located outside the map, beyond clouds) because the timeline is actually this:
-Drakengard 3 (routes C and E);
-Tokyo, 2003;
-Drakengard 1;
-Nier;
-Nier Automata (route C).
What if Brother One and his cult were the ones who came up with project Gestalt ?
What if he's the reason the Gestalts became violent before the Shadowlord was thought of ?
What if the Seeds are actually clones of Emil and his sister that are harvested by the androids to be turned into angels/Watchers, with those who disobey being twisted into dragonhood ?
What if the Empire's crusade is the reason humanity is so spread thin in "Nier", and without any knowledge about technology, and with little to no use of magic ?
What if that's why Brother One was exiled from the church ? Because his red eyes were too similar to that of androids and Salt creatures, meaning he could turn humans into bloodthirsty creatures too, the same way androids and the Legion were ?
This video is a masterpiece in so many ways..

With the new NieReplicant revamp coming, I really hope they'd add more lore or clues that opens doors to more installments, because that's an opportunity that shouldn't be missed. I heard there will be a new ending. So I am optimistic..!

I have a strange fixation in crossovering pieces of this universe with a recent Disney show's story. This song right here ? It's my inspiration for a scene in which the girl faces a fanatic and intolerant character that bears One's body and Zero's original name.
Said girl, having lost the one person who had always been by her side relentlessly and ensured she would win in battles that she was supposed to have lost on her own.
Both villain and hero lost everything they held dear, and just like Zero and One, they go all out. Nothing matters but for one to destroy the other.
I feel uncomfy. I mean, I had a feeling I knew what I was in for. I avoided this for a bit to prepare myself. Oh god, I wasn't ready. I don't know if it's from me typing, but I can feel my legs just shaking and I'm slowly but surely starting to feel nauseous. Was this a horrible mistake? Probably. How do I feel? Having remembered of the Kingdom of Darkness in "Automata", which might be the reason why Earth eventually stops turning, I've ajusted the theorized timeline a little:
-I still believe "Drakengard 1" happens after Tokyo, but considering my theory endings D and E actually happen at the same time, I think "Drakengard" may actually occur before "Nier", with the Black mass created by Seere creating said kingdom of time distortions/Shade like creatures.
It's how humanity actually lost any remaining knowledge regarding technology, and it's how humanity officially became composed of Shades and Replicants only. It could also explain why only Nier's settlement is explored, and none of the other Devolas and Popolas from other settlements send reiforcements. Because with the Black tower covering all of Europe, and perhaps more, it's likely the settlements weren't many to begin with.

I think that Grimoire at the begining of "Nier" was a Pact Beast at the service of God.
The power to save his daughter/sister, in return of giving in fully into God's divine order. Gestalt Nier looked too much like an angel for it to be a coincidence.
I think once humanity was restored, they would have turned everyone into White disease soldiers.
