- My obsession of camera strap has led me to making this inevitable video that compares the Peak Design Slide (original) vs the Slide Lite vs the Peak Design Leash. At the end I will also talk about the peak design wrist cuff as well!
I typically use the leash strap for my Ricoh GRIII, the slide lite for my Leica Q2 and the Slide for my Sony Alpha system.

I use Leash with A7iii and Zeiss 55mm f1.8, Samyang 24mm f1.8 and Sony 35 mm f1.8. It’s perfect!
So what do you recommend that doesn't cut into your neck?
Little hack for the Peak Design trap, use a seatbelt pad and slide it securing it with the velcro.
Nice comparison video. Helpful to me to choose the products. I will go with slide lite for my EOS r8 + rf 35.8. How do you think about it?

Depending on your use case especially with lenses. If you gonna get bigger glass I would go with the middle weight strap. Check out my PGYtech strap review on my channel
Just what I was looking for. I own a slide strap and love the quality and even when its really comfortable to use for transport the camera it is really uncomfortable to use the camera (like you said, it is bulky and it gets in the way). A partial solution to this is to use the anchor point below the camera, so when you have to use it at least you have clear one side. But If you use a tripod plate like I do, that is another problem because you keep switching plates depending on what you have to do and it is not ideal.
So I wanted to buy another but was undecided between the lite and the leash. The anchor system is the best distinctive feature of this straps but also it is the reason why they are uncomfortable to use because when you lift the camera their position is in top of your hand or between you hand and the camera, both very annoying. I think I'll go for the leash since all share this design at least it will be the least intrusive. Thanks for the video and the real world review!
Awesome thanks for watching and yeah after owning all 3 straps, any small camera I use the leash. Small mirrorless I use the medium slide lite strap and only when I shoot big camera with flash and tamron 35-150 then I would use the heavy duty one
Hi, I'm on the fence of which one I should get - Slide Lite or Leash, for my A7C2 which I often pair up with the Zeiss 50mm or Tamron 28-75mm lens. What would you recommend? Will the Leash be too small for the A7C2?
Oh yeah def get slide lite. You want to get a more robust strap in case you get bigger lenses later on. I would also look at the PGYtech strap as well. I reviewed it on my channel also

@@ToasterVentura The first thing to fail on these straps would be the quick disconnect, which are rated for 90kg, so in theory any of them can handle even the largest lenses and robustness is not really an issue. Its more a question of whats comfortable and convenient for you.

When you store them in bag attached to camera,would metal buckle on slide and slide lite scratch the body or lcd?
Good question, I would say plausible but the buckles are pretty rounded with no sharp edges. Then again Murphy’s law dictate Sh.t happens when you least expect it.

@stefanusadrian8398 nah the point link is about the same size as peak design if not smaller. It is a tear drop design so in terms of three dimensional, it would be thicker than the peak design. I used the strap for 10 days straight in Morocco and I didn’t find any issues with the strap. It’s my favorite so far

I think if you want to stay super nimble, the leash will work. I prefer the slide light because then if you decide to get a bigger lens you don’t need another strap again

Honestly, I would have mentioned the fact that you could get a slide lite because you got a small camera NOW, but you may never know what the future will hold for you, because of that I bought the full big Slide when I had a Canon M50 (really small camera with small lenses) thinking about the possibility of getting a new camera in the future, well guess what? After a few short months I ended up getting myself a Sony a7 4 (a big camera) and I was thankful that I got the big Slide as I used it with my new camera without having to buy another strap
In that logic it makes sense but I have always started with big cameras which is why the slide was my first choice. Turned out too bulky for my taste. Slide lite seems to be the happy medium for me

I was thinking of getting the Slide Lite for my Olympus E-M5 III with a Panasonic 14-140mm, which is kind of heavy for a micro four thirds setup, but not really very heavy in general camera terms. I am now thinking if this is the way to go, or if I should just go with the Leash. Any recommendations?
I already own the cuff so I'm looking at these two to stay with the same anchor system, that works great! But I am looking to go out with a Wotancraft Pilot 2L and a PEN-F with 17mm that I will put in and out of the cuff/bag, while having the other one hanging on the side with the Slide Lite or Leash, but cannot decide on which. Thanks for checking out my video! I think you are on the right track and the slide lite is your best option! It can handle more weight than the leash and not as bulky as the slide.
I have the peak design slide and leash. I use the leash with my Z9/D850 and the Sigma 500mm f4 sports, no issues with the strap handling the weight, the strap is good for two hundred pounds. I pretty much use the leash all the time.
I cant decide between slide or lite for my d750. The lite wont dig into the neck? Even for longer shooting days?

How reliable are the attachment loops on Slide?
A friend of mine has been using it for over 5 years and has no problems. But it probably depends on how often you plug it in and out. He rarely does that.
Do you have a strap you recommend for neck carry? I wanted the slide lite for traveling with my A7III and Sony 24-70mm F2.8 but based off your video it's only comfortable for long periods of time if wearing it crossbody which I don't want to do.

The problem is that they need to make smaller red tabs. They look huge and ugly with my leash on my g7x

I hate the cuff for exactly that reason at 6:30 it’s so damn annoying to take off when you have it cinched down! It’s the most awkward thing ever it makes me feel like a child trying to figure out a puzzle 😂

since you enjoy so much how they look and feel, maybe you should start a camera strap business.
They all have a single point of failure. The best camera strap is the Op/Tech BinoCam harness. If one side fails, your camera is still attached to the other. And, as a bonus, when you bend over, the camera does not swing away from you.
Op/tech is SO GOOD
