The guy playing the lap steel guitar is none other then country legend (and member of Alison Krauss & Union Station) Jerry Douglas. He has also played on some of Ilse's albums. This was part of a series called Ilse's Veranda (Ilse's Porch) which was partly shot at the house she owns in Nashville. In the series she took well known Dutch music colleagues and took them to Nashville to see how much country is in their own music. I think the series was pretty succesfull but it never got a second season.
The guitar player on the right is Jan-Bart (JB) Meyers, a well known Dutch musician and record producer, here working with Ilse DeLange as a member of "The Common Linnets".

Just filled in a request for Calm after the storm. It is done by Ilse (Say Ilsa) de Lange and Waylon (yes, him again) as The Common Linnets in the Eurovision Song Contest of 2014. They were the runner ups, but the common opinion is that they were robbed from the first place.
Of course, I completely forgot about Ilse! She definately deserves yours and our attention! She's our "country girl" and plays a small part in the Nashville serie on Netflix 😁😁

He's a super talented guitarist, pianist and singer with a tone that lends itself to country music. Both he and Isle deserve international recognition. Both their voices are so emotive no matter what type of music they sing.

Douwe Bob is a big fan of outlaw country, and therefore of Johnny Cash. This visit and performance in a prison was done in the spirit of Johnny Cash’s performing in (was it Folsom?) prison. These women loved it!

Love to see you explore some of our great Dutch artists. I am a metalhead ( and fan of Floor Jansen and Epica!) , but I have always had a soft spot ( and some albums) of Ilse de Lange. And Douwe Bob is truly a gifted artist too.
