- In today's video, we find out how much copper is really inside a vacuum cleaner. I show you the quick and easy way to tear-down a vacuum and make a copper bar in the end.
Thanks so much for your viewing support, happy scrapping!
Make me change my mind about vacuums man
I personally don’t like scrapping them for the risk of it having an aluminum windings motor inside. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is busting it open 🙂
I think that's the same vacuum I just picked up. I hope my winding isn't aluminum 🤔
Well, there’s only one way to find out! 😉
Motors are made from aluminium... it's a shame!
Vacuum designers don't think about us, scrappers who prefer find copper in them😅
Nice job n ty for sharing
You’re so right! Lol! I got lucky one time and found copper windings in a vacuum, of course I wasn’t recording
What is it you strip the wires with
My stripping machine 😁 Here is a link to the one I use.

What about the suction motor??
That was the suction motor.
Throw the entire armature in the crucible. That will yield a few tablespoons of copper
Which part?
@@Scrap2Cast the motor, the part that has the windings you found to be aluminum had a core which tirns the moving parts of the vaccum. It has ball bearings on both ends of it. Continue breaking down the motor and you will find it
Oh okay I know exactly what you mean now. I still save those off camera. When I get the big furnace setup after hitting my 500 subs goal (234 to go), I’ll melt the copper off the cores.
@@Scrap2Cast your narrative along with how and what you film is the reason I subscribe. Melting really is an interesting hobby. The fact that you can turn a junky old vacuum cleaner into a precious copper ingot or you can make a solid aluminum figure from $1.35 worth of aluminum scrap really is fascinating. The subscribers are out there. They need only to look your way!
@@mattyal9347 Thanks man, I really appreciate your positive input. It's nice to know that someone appreciates the way I conduct the channel / footage. Out of curiosity, do you like the caption narrative better or the voice narrative?
for the planet earth
Yup!
