    👏👏👏 BEST yard I've seen ever... Not only is your stock gorgeous but much respect for not having your dogs on short oversized chain that they can barely pull around. Most of you dogs are in large dog runs and immaculately clean ..👍🏼👍🏼

    Why is this breed not recognized by any clubs

    • @APBT-Bandog
      @APBT-Bandog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Because we don't want it to be. As the founder, my goal is to protect the working aspects, so we have our own registry that requires the parents are performance tested and health tested in a breed suitability test (BST) before being bred. Other registries only go off pedigree, so anyone that attempts to register our dogs with another registry will be banned from our registry in the future. I have never charged for registration to date...just required the parents are health tested and proven. If that isn't done, then you don't have a true American Sentinel.

    Thank you very much for uploading this interesting video.
    It is only a few days ago that I stumbled upon your videos, and I have the following six questions now (I also visited your website and read some of what you have written):
    1) Can your dogs (ASCs) adapt to different climates (very cold, very hot, very humid)?
    2) Do ASCs drool a lot?
    3) Do ASCs bark a lot?
    4) Can ASCs be protection, hunting, and family dogs at the same time (meaning, one dog for all three purposes)?
    5) Is it difficult to control ASCs with an average amount of obedience training (every day at least five minutes and maybe an obedience class)?
    6) Could you compare your ASCs with breeds such as the Dogo Argentino, Alano Espanol, and Cimarron Uruguayo?
    Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

    Hi! Can you explain more about the process of culling? The reason and methodology behind it? Thank you

    • @APBT-Bandog
      @APBT-Bandog  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Sounds like a trap question to be honest, since most people already know culling is a necessary aspect to maintaining a successful breeding program long term and most people assume euthanasia is the only method to remove the inferior genes from a population...however, culling (the removal of animals from the breeding population) can be done many ways and still prevent the proliferation of undesired genes. Neutering, spaying, being responsible to not breed such animals, or even selling to pet homes (with full disclosure) that wont breed those dogs, are all appropriate measures of culling.

      @@kylegosiaco5318 In the world of the internet, there are a lot of people that are vegan and against the domestication of animals, and those people will resort to anything to try to cause trouble for those with domesticated animals. I don't have time for those types of people, as doing things correctly is difficult enough and they need to go focus on programs that do not treat animals very well. Our dogs get the best of care.

  • @HoneyBadger0704

    I like the way you did your kennels. The elevated platform that the houses sit on are nice. Does the welded wire on the kennel panels fully support the boards or is there support underneath it or support by other means. I’m working on a couple Prieferts that I’d like to do something like this to. Do you have a video on your kennel build? What are you using for your dividers between the runs? Sorry if I’ve perhaps overlooked the video if you’ve already shown the kennel build.

    • @APBT-Bandog
      @APBT-Bandog  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      On our above ground kennels, we use “flattened” expand metal for the floor over supporting joints (treated lumber) and the side panels are welded 6 gauge wire supported again by treated lumber.
      The side panels in our chain link kennels are 24 gauge galvalum with edges folded so they are not sharp

    I have a question i thought you always do smaller male to a large female like swinford

    • @APBT-Bandog
      @APBT-Bandog  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is not necessary. Carl Semencic tried to compare breeding dogs to breeding horses and donkeys, which is foolish because the horse and donkey are two different species...so the outcome is influenced by which species is the male vs. female. That is not the case with dogs...as all dogs, regardless of breed, are the same species. What a good breeder should do is find the best specimens they have, and work around that.
