Weird how Subaru dealers in my area already have more 2025 Foresters in stock than Toyota dealers have 2024 RAV4's. Is Toyota really intentionally limiting the RAV4 supply?
I couldn't tell you, but they probably are. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just another reason to buy a Subaru over a Toyota.
I have the Sport coming for me to my dealer any day now. One thing I do not like already is the single Exhaust tip and even having it set back in behind the opening. And looking at the opening, it’s bigger than the small exhaust tip. I wish they had the tip concealed like the Outback and Crosstrek or at least give it dual tips BUT the forester is not about dual tips or performance, it is about practicality and comfort. First thing is to get that tip extended to match the rear of the bumper.
Yeah, I do wish that they had opted to do two exhaust tips as well as a longer tip - but that is easily solvable!
Congrats in advance on your incoming Sport!
Loved it; I still have a 19 Forester Sport that I love, but the new model looks very attractive :) Made in Japan still?
Yes, still made in Japan!
Great review! Does it use 0W16 engine oil like the 2024 Crosstrek?
Thanks! It does use the 0W-16
Can the height of hatch be adjusted?
@mclark4218 yes it can! Here are the how-to videos:

Does it actually heat the entire wheel now like the Outback, or is it like the Crosstrek and last gen Forester where it doesn't heat the top?
The top does not heat.
Hi Tyson ,has the tcv been replaced with a standard thermostat on the new 2025 Forester.regards
I checked this morning and it looks like it's a traditional thermostat in the 2025's. At least, there is no TCV in the same area that it was on the previous gen Foresters.
No Digital rear view mirror on the Premier? It's included on the US Touring.
Correct. We don't get it in Canada.
@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist Bummer, love the video review btw!
@gregs4163 yeah, it's really too bad we don't get it!
Thanks for watching!
Great review Tyson! I really like the new look of the 2025 Forester! I just wish Subaru would offer a turbo for it. Glad it is offered in the Outback! I wonder if the 2026 Outback will follow the same design language. That would be awesome!
It would be nice if they offered the 2.4L, at least in the Wilderness.
We'll see about the design language!
@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist yes! The Sport trim should get it as well. They did that with the Legacy Sport which is being discontinued after the 2025 model year ☹️
@AJSparacio413 yes, unfortunately they didn't sell enough Legacys to keep producing them. They're amazing cars, but Subaru doesn't support them enough with advertising, imo.
Do you know why winter tires cannot be fitted to 19-inch wheels?
They're concerned that the larger/wider tread blocks on the winters would contact the fender liners under certain conditions.
The 19's were a last minute addition because SOA told Subaru Japan that they NEEDED to have 19's in the lineup, or they'd suffer a lack of sales... 🙄
How it drives comparing to main competitors like rav4 or crv? I mean road noise, suspension
It drives more smoothly than both of them and is much quieter as well. Comfort is significantly better in the Forester and the amount of room for passengers is vastly superior.
I'm obviously a bit biased, but Subaru definitely made the Forester a more refined vehicle in this iteration.
@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialistgood to know, looks like it is a right time to go for a test drive 😅, thank you
@@akzil2420 it most definitely is! You'll be very impressed!
Did they get rid of the Thermo Control Valve?
Good question, I don't have the answer for you in regards to that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hi. I believe they did. I thought I read it somewhere.
At 04:42 what is that Grey square piece of plastic for? It came with the vehicle so it must have a purpose.
It's a battery tray - eventually they'll swap to shorter batteries and those trays are going to end up under the new battery to ensure that the cables can reach the posts.
@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist ahh, so I can toss it. Probably somewhere in the garage 😀
@bassdojo1788 you're a Subaru owner, gotta recycle that!
@@bassdojo1788 I think they mentioned shorter in height, not CCA's or capacity ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist your certain it's a battery tray? It cables reach a taller battery, why wouldn't it reach a shorter one, just bend the cables a bit. I could use the cargo space if it isn't needed.
It does have the rear view mirror camera correct?
For clarification purposes, you mean a back up camera?
@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist No in the rearview mirror there is a switch to change it to a screen that shows the new rearview camera on the touring/premier trim
I hope so. I am trying to recall if I have seen any Canadian reviews with it. Not that my cargo is packed all that often, but it sure looks like a great feature on those times that it is.
@@Willrun4chocolates Do not tell me there are more differences on the Canadian version other than just the trim names.
@coneyislandftw besides exterior colour, and interior colour and a few accessories, I don't think so, but in the US that mirror is only available on the top level Touring so I was hoping it meant it would be on the Premier here...but now I need to go check my spec sheets or find some more Canadian reviews to put my mind at rest.
first, the color is not called bedrock pearl, its river rock pearl and also there is no "premier" trim. the actual trim name is touring.
First, you are correct. I admit that ai called it by the wrong name, I have been mixing up River Rock and Bed Rock in my head for some reason - I gotta work on that.
There is 1000% a Premier trim here in Canada. The Touring trim here is the middle of the road trim level. You're more than welcome to confirm on Subaru.ca
subaru is suspose to be adding a hybrid power train in a year or two maybe thatll add more power
There is a hybrid coming, some time. The power will likely be similar.
