They actually DO recruit from likely students at posh universities. Spies are often business people who travel to certain countries and they recruit them early.
Weirdly, one person who was checked out for MI6 was Hugh Dennis, who has starred in comedy shows such as Mock the Week, Outnumbered, My Hero, and is currently still in Lee Mack's sitcom, Not Going Out.
So good to see Dame Maureen Lipman, one of the greatest comedic actresses of our time. But yeah, someone as obvious as Jimmy could never blend in enough to be a spy 😅
Indeed. And Richard Wilson, who created one of the greatest comedy characters of all time. I especially loved the Richard Wilson/Angus Deayton scenes in One Foot in the Grave.
it's believed Uk government did recruit students, they did this to get them to join fringe clubs (socialist/animal rights) they believed posed a risk of protesting, all they had to do was attend meetings and write a document on what was discussed and any plans to do anything.
As much as i love Jimmy, if he was recruited, the sound of an asthmatic seal each time he laughed mighe have freaked out people like Putin... Good point, let's recruit him lol.
Angus got sacked by the BBC which Stephen Fry disagreed with the decision so ever since he’s refused to go on any show that was hosted by Angus on the BBC. So you won’t see Stephen on WILTY, also won’t see him on any post Angus episode of HIGNFY. There’s probably a few other shows he refuses to go on because of it.
I don't know... I don't feel that ingesting a drug into one's *own* body and having sex with a couple of prostitutes is the crime of the century to me. Maybe he was a bit harshly treated by the press *and* the BBC on that one.
I have no problem with swearing on comedy shows but I don't think WILTY lost *anything* when they became slightly more "family orientated". In order, presumably, to get an earlier timeslot and a larger audience. Although we would have missed out on that particular gem from Jimmy, I suppose.
Hey fellas 👍more older ones would be great if you like, all the one with Rob Brydon as host have been reacted to death now by everyone now, the guy that used to host it was Angus Deayton that has a very sarcastic dry wit, not for everyone but I think he was funny. Great stuff✌️🍻
The main problem with the early ones is that they seemed to try and get through as many 'lies/truths' as possible in a show, so that was much less opportunity for the extended banter.
F--- a girl in a boat is a James Bond reference and the spy agencies do look at potential student recruits usually Oxford & Cambridge where many have come from. But Jimmy a potential spook ....Nah...lol
I knowww I think a big chunk of people came here for the short videos, and that's all they are interested in.. but we've moved away from that to do more of these types of videos.

They do actually recruit from the UK’s top Universities! Funny stuff guys. 😂

Lee writes and stars in Not Going Out, with his character as a kind of exaggerated version of himself.
Yeah, this is before it went to an 8pm slot.
Just for clarification on the last part from Lee ---- MFI was a furniture store that was quite prolific in Britain for many years.

Jimmy Carr is in fact now 50 :p (51 soon even)

That's a James Bond movie I probably wouldn't bother seeing. 😁
The real question here is, how did MI5 miss out on the opportunity to recruit Jimmy Carr?
I know right... he could've managed their taxes
As much as i love Jimmy, if he was recruited, the sound of an asthmatic seal each time he laughed mighe have freaked out people like Putin... Good point, let's recruit him lol.
I think you might need to check out some pictures of young jimmy carr, that’ll answer your question lol
@@willisverynice Seriously, what intelligence agency wouldn't want a ventriloquist's dummy with an oversized head as an agent?
@@BKPrice again, I would refer you to a picture of young jimmy carr…

His loss I say😅

He refused to go on HIGNFY. Not WILTY. Angus was sacked from HIGNFY, he was just replaced on this show.
So weird seeing swearing on WILTY, before they went bigtime.
Graham Norton is "big time" and has swearing in it. You can say pretty much anything on British TV.
@@TequilaToothpick Not pre-watershed.

You're allowed to swear on British TV. I don't think they made a decision to change it at all.
@@TequilaToothpick - There's still a watershed for more adult language and content though, isn't there?
@@renejean2523 They did to 8.30, pre the 9pm watershed. You're right. I can't remember what series though.

@@Tyrconnell yes, good point👍
He also was a good comedy actor in things like one foot in the grave, but papers ruined his career
@@petesmart1983 absolutely, Deayton and Wilson was a great pairing as neighbours, hilarious.
I think he could pass for 50.

Jimmy carr has got less funny over the years
Nah, he's still excellent.
