  • The trail cam was placed in a cow pasture on Max Gustafson's Farm in Chisago County, Minnesota, through the Mississippi River Basin Healthy Watersheds Initiative (MRBI) for approximately two months. Working with the NRCS and partners, Max has implemented multiple conservation practices on his farm. The MRBI helps producers in selected watersheds in the Mississippi River Basin voluntarily implement conservation farming practices. The trail cam footage shows how these practices also positively impact wildlife. A few of Max's practices include fence installation to keep his cattle from entering wetlands adjacent to his pastures and no-till farming. This trail cam footage shows the change in height of the prairie grass as the season progresses. It also shows a diversity of wildlife, from white-tailed deer, fawns, bucks, and does, as well as wild turkeys, sandhill cranes, and other migratory birds using this well-managed agricultural habitat.
