He's given some decent fleshing out that makes you come to understand that his misdeeds aren't the actions of an evil man, but one that's been driven mad trying to undo his previous mistakes resorting to extreme methods. THAT being said, his boss fight was fucking pitiful. With Copy X, I made it a point to master the game's final stage so as to get to him without using any lives to give me all the shots at him I'd need, and even THEN, he'd wind up fucking me over. I killed Elpizo on my first try, and while his first form was at least kind of fun to fight, the second was an exercise in monotony and pitiful easiness. The only thing it had going for itself was that scream he makes before transforming. That is the stuff of nightmares.
True. Although in terms of first forms, Elpizo pretty good. He really is a tragic character. He knows he is weak and cannot accept it, or the consequences of his decision that led to the failed "Operation Righteous Strike" which cost dozens of lives. It drove him insane. He kinda needed to go on this power quest to show himself that he wasn't weak. Hell he beat Harpuia without the Dark Elf in the temple of wind for crying out loud!
Deltaheatran I actually have this theory that Phoenix Magnion was in some first draft supposed to be the game's final boss. He's the toughest boss in the game, has a commanding design with flashy attacks (One of which being an awesome attack where you're attacked by a bunch of X series villains, which I see as an attack that'd be worthy of a final boss ), has a similar dialogue window and color scheme to Elpizo kinda, and, lest we forget, would work much better as a final boss than Elpizo's ACTUAL final form.
GreenTengu97 Well that would be interesting to have Magnion as the Final boss instead of Dark Elf Elpizo. Wonder what would have taken Magnion's place at the Factory?
Can't say I'm completely sure. I'm certain they could design something cool for that, though. It's not like they'd have run out of animals to base bosses on.

This was a pretty awesome final boss and ending. Overall this game was pretty great. If only they'd fix the damn items/cyber elf's in the first two games like they did with the rest. If they could've just done that then this game would've been perfection.
Elpizo: I almost did something... tha can't be forgiven... Me: Uh, i don't think Zero is going to forgive you for destroying X's body and releasing the Dark Elf anytime soon.
I call it "Dark Phenomenon Elpizo." Because his transformation resembles the way that Fefnir, Leviathon, and Harpuia transform which is called "Armed Phenomenon." (Probably got some spelling wrong :D )
Has anyone ever noticed that in the game,Elpizo throws a sword at X,but in the picture,he actually STABS him, holding the sword! After the picture disappears,Elpizo is seen THROWING the sword, not stabbing!
Looking back at this, if X didn't retired and leave his body to rest he would've help Zero, or Zero was able to help him so his body wouldn't be destroyed and replace by another Copy X from Megaman Zero 3 made from Weil. This could've made X play a roke in the series but X as a cyber elf isn't bad.
I have a theory of Mother/Dark Elf...its Iris! After Zero was dying, remember he saw Iris and said sorry...and then we didn't know how he ressurected and came back to the next game! It was definitely Iris' soul ( or her energy coming from her love to Zero and it was tremendous with the tragedy in X4 ) who repaired him and kept living inside him till the scientists analyze Zero and extract her... but like Dr.Light pretended to erase X's memories of Zero in bad ending, she may have deleted herself in Zero's memory to make him focus on to be the real hero...
raito yagami That actually makes sense. Especially since at the end Zero says "It feels like I know her... Dark Elf..." However, I don't think she may have deleted herself, especially since Zero couldn't remember X either.
"i almost did something that can't be forgiven" yea luckily you just only killed X, the Original android who all reploids are based on! sure Megaman-X fans will forgive u Elpizo...
When I first played this was a while ago and when I lost at first, I was too afraid to retry this. Now that I look at this, I see that this is actually really easy. Well I know what that means. Time to fire up Mega Man Zero 2!!!!!
After the destruction of his physical body there was truly no way to bring back x soul to the real world and his mind was slowly fading away to cyberspace permanently resulting in his death in mmz3
that's because after he got the dark elfs power, he became so assured of his victory to where he didn't really try, his arrogance caused him to be killed fast and to be labeled EASIEST FINAL BOSS IN THE ZERO FRANCHISE
he used cyber elf form to move around but his body was his source of power, as his body was destroyed his powers started to fade away slowly until at end of MMZ 3 X's powers ran dry and he died
Probably if his Seraph form teleported a bit more it would have made the final boss a bit more fun. Not teleporting to the point where he pulls a Wily though. Heh,maybe even that.
There should be an arc where technology is developed to bring cyber Elfs back to their original forms using the last few Ipieces of data in the system of a cyber elf...That could REALLY reconnect the storyline to bring back the character we know and love.
I don’t. He caused all these troubles just for a petty revenge against Neo Arcadia. He doesn’t mind having resistance soldier dying to fulfill his quest. Destroying Megaman X just so he could empower himself further. Elpizo is responsible for most of the consequences through the series. Dr. Weil wouldn’t even be able to succeed in his plans if it wasn’t before mother elf is released and if X is still alive and kicking and the relationship between Neo Arcadia and Resistances wouldn’t have been so intense until Zero died. I feel bad for what he had went through in Neo Arcadia but not for the messes he left behind.
Goddamn that shriek when he transforms to his second form. When I replayed the game on emulator recently, it kinda caught me off guard, as I didn't remember that. Maybe I was playing on mute with background music before lol. But yeah, quite a horrifying scream if you ask me.
Well it was cause he didn't see it as wasting energy he saw it as a way that he could help his friends without having to hurt anything anymore, throughout the whole series X was actually a pacifist and hated fighting but did it cause he had power and AI that set him from usual Reploids and wanted a dream of maybe uniting them with humans hand and hand so fought for that. Lived that out until his day of calling and accept it as his time to pass just doing what he could until he was no more.
I believe that the power corrupts him and causes him to be in immense pain, causing the nightmare fuel scream. His sanity goes to pieces and he is hell bent on power, thus the translated line of More Power that is commonly accepted. The whole story for Z2 was to get the power capable of stopping Neo Arcadia and have Reploids be able to live alongside humans, so it makes sense that he would go to his primitive instincts of pure desire of power.
@@logicaloverdrive8197 exception being X and Zero As they are still are robots. Reploids were made by X's design, hence the name Reploid. But since X cannot be a copy of himself, X is still a robot

Is it weird that this guy was the easiest final boss and Copy X was the hardest for me? As in, even harder than Omega or Weil? I dunno - I was worse at Zero 1 than any of the other games. That dumb pitfall kept killing me, AND he kept shooting rings that trapped me. The one character who everyone mocks for being "naive and weaker than X" is the only one with enough common sense to immobilize Zero *over a pit.*
I still remember fighting this guy. God he was such a bastard, took me 15 tries just to put him diwn because he would spam one of his very cheap moves.
Review your facts buddy. X did state that his powers were fading even before Elpizo destroyed his lifeless body. X was already "dead" (a Cyber Elf can be considered as a dead Reploid's "soul") from the very beginning of the series. And he clearly stated that he was tired of fighting, meaning that even if could return to his body, he simply didn't want to by all means and no matter what would happen.
10 years late but I think he wanted to give Zero a chance to fight him thinking that Zero's power is no match for him and that he's more powerful just because he got the dark elf's power. but in the end we all know the devs just want to get the game over with🗿
I can't find the article anymore but I read somewhere that the reason Inafune killed X's body in Zero 2 was because he angry with Capcom. He left the X series after X5 and tried to give it a definitive ending before beginning work on Zero 1. Then Capcom turned around and rushed out an X6 without him and even brought Zero back. So he killed X in response.
I hated him for that, especially with how he wanted for x to be originally in the zero series. If he got his way from the start, we'd be having zero from the get-go and no x, and without x6 onwards, x would be the antagonist of zero1, so im kinda still happy that x got a kiiiiinda better outcome compared to what inafune had in store for him. I guess he really just had it with the blue bomber at that point...

Am i the only one that thinks the soundtrack from Elpizo is totally badass/awesome??
same
My favorite attack of Elpizo is when he uses the four points and shoots these projectiles at you, he also screams a cool line when he use it.
Lol Elpizo getting all hyped about killing X when he's sleeping as if it was a great achievement, X could solo him if he was awake
Even though he has no Armor
But hey, that's just a theory.
Spark Do A GAME THEORY!
Spark Do Still has a high percentage to be canon. Well Capcom just never exposed it so...
Thanks for watching
raito yagami That actually makes sense. Especially since at the end Zero says "It feels like I know her... Dark Elf..." However, I don't think she may have deleted herself, especially since Zero couldn't remember X either.
X was kinda like my childhood hero (*It was painful to see him die*)
2:41 Zero must have gotten some PTSD there huh?
WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR!!!
He has the power to defeat Shaggy, Ohio’s Final Boss, Thanos, Etc, he is the true Overlord of the Internet
X, MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Am I the only one that finds it odd that X's body didn't get destroyed with a little "pew pew pew" sound effect?
The 3:48 scream reminds me of these scary pop up videos
Maybe because Zero was in a rage over X's death is why *the floor* (Elpizo) was easy to defeat. Zero was so fast that Elpizo could barely see him.
3:48 is so awesome!
Honestly.. best scene of the whole series.
I love that voice and the scream.
0:48 The moment every single X fan. Just. got. pissed.
so that is what happened to X...
5:41 it seems that this line is canonically a reference to Iris one in X4
6 years on, and His second Awakening theme still scares the shit outta me
"i almost did something that can't be forgiven" yea luckily you just only killed X, the Original android who all reploids are based on! sure Megaman-X fans will forgive u Elpizo...
thank you zero... thank you for stopping me.. you saved me. I almost did *SOMETHING THAT CANT BE FORGIVEN...*
*Flashbacks how X died*
Yeah, almost.
3:45 I like that scream when he transforms. Chilling lol
Chilling? For me its ear raping. xD
Barockman Obama LoL.but i love it...
The first phase is one of my favorite megaman bosses
that's because after he got the dark elfs power, he became so assured of his victory to where he didn't really try, his arrogance caused him to be killed fast and to be labeled EASIEST FINAL BOSS IN THE ZERO FRANCHISE
he used cyber elf form to move around but his body was his source of power, as his body was destroyed his powers started to fade away slowly until at end of MMZ 3 X's powers ran dry and he died
Elpizo, having a bigger HP bar doesn't mean that you're more powerful smh
Most memorable thing about the boss: Elpizo's scream when changing into the second form.
3:48 scared me when i was playing the game for the first time
Probably if his Seraph form teleported a bit more it would have made the final boss a bit more fun.
Not teleporting to the point where he pulls a Wily though.
Heh,maybe even that.
0:47 - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :'-(
It was at that moment elpizo sealed his fate that zero would kill him
There should be an arc where technology is developed to bring cyber Elfs back to their original forms using the last few Ipieces of data in the system of a cyber elf...That could REALLY reconnect the storyline to bring back the character we know and love.
Damn, Elpizo takes the chance to play X in mgmZ
Damn, that scream...
You Know I'm kinda feel sorey for Elpizo.
Favourite game.. Favourite boss fight.
Personally I had trouble with Elpizo's first form, but I agree his second form was a weakling.
5:23-5:24 "Almost did something that can't be forgiven." *leans further in chair and puts hand on chin* "Care to explain that, sir?"
Dunno why Elpizo is so proud of himself for killing X. It's not like X could fight back. "YAY I DESTROYED A HELPLESS REPLOID WHO COULDN'T FIGHT BACK"
Correction it's robot master
X couldn't be a replicate of himself
@@hlardi4329 they're all called reploids.
@@logicaloverdrive8197 exception being X and Zero
As they are still are robots.
Reploids were made by X's design, hence the name Reploid. But since X cannot be a copy of himself, X is still a robot
@@hlardi4329both copy x's could probably be considered the quintessential reploids as they're direct clones of the original. same with the four guardians but just to a lesser extent
@Toni Mayes Not actually. X's body was keeping the Mother/Dark Elf sealed away.
X's consciousness was basically Cyber Elf X.
Fighting this guy with only uncharged buster shots and no subtanks......
Shin Shady well his first form was ANNOYING. BUT, the second form was damn easy (even dumbass can defeat him)
I really love this fight, but FUCK. THAT. KOKUDESUKA. ATTACK.
fucking goenitz
Is it weird that this guy was the easiest final boss and Copy X was the hardest for me? As in, even harder than Omega or Weil? I dunno - I was worse at Zero 1 than any of the other games. That dumb pitfall kept killing me, AND he kept shooting rings that trapped me. The one character who everyone mocks for being "naive and weaker than X" is the only one with enough common sense to immobilize Zero *over a pit.*
Elpizo's last form was so damn easy
Call me nuts.... I love the scream after the transformation. Dunno why...
I still remember fighting this guy. God he was such a bastard, took me 15 tries just to put him diwn because he would spam one of his very cheap moves.
3:47 A scary moment in a non scary video game.
So BEFORE he drastially powers up, he could completely lock Zero up rendering him completely helpless, but afterwards he couldn't?
Well there's not much of an official name but because he's using the Dark Elf's power the fans simply refer to it as Dark Elpizo's second form.
Interesting..I should check that out sometime (the moving thing you mentioned).
His attack patterns are way to predicable, hes way to easy.
Out of all 4 Zero games, this final boss was the easiest.
that scream is so satisfying
