The Netteburg Family 2020 AT Thru Hike: Hiking as a Family With Four Children, Ages 4, 6, 8 & 11!

- Join us as we attend a special event where the AT Museum welcomed The Netteburg Family (AKA, Spreadsheet, Queen Bee, Blaze, Boomerang, Angel Wings, & The Beast). The family brought stories from their thru hike of the AT in 2020, with their 4 children (ages 4, 6, 8, & 11) in 2020.
Their youngest hiker ("The Beast") made history when she completed the trail at age 4.
It was a fun filled afternoon meeting the family and listening to some of their stories from their 2020 Appalachian Trail Thru Hike as a family. Their stories provided humor, insights, and inspiration to all.
Since their 2020 thru hike as a family, and additional member was added in 2021 (AKA: “Dead Weight”). The family of 7 then went on to become TRIPLE CROWNERS!
This title was earned after completing the following trails:
Appalachian Trail in 2020
Continental Divide Trail 2022
Pacific Crest Trail 2023
With permission from the Appalachian Trail Museum and the Netteburg Family - we are thrilled to share this experience with you! This event took place in Pine Grove Furnace State Park, home of the "half gallon challenge" and the Ironmaster's Mansion Hostel, on May 5, 2024.

With permission from the museum, we will be bringing you several videos to showcase this incredible museum located just miles from the Appalachian Trail halfway point in Pine Grove Furnace State Park PA.
This is the ONLY museum in the country dedicated to hiking!
Whether you are aspiring to thru hike, enjoy section or day hiking on the AT, or just enjoy what the white blaze stands for and would like to learn more about the community around it & the museum dedicated to it, we invite you to join us for this series.
This museum is primarily operated & supported by volunteers, donations & grants.

Wow,that was incredible! I want you to know I did watch every minute of it. The main thing that sticks out to me is the Beast really loved Grayson Highlands. I hadn't heard of this family before today. Nice how you had them all turn around like that. Great video!
HI Jim, thanks for watching! Yes, they were so much fun to be around and loved hearing about their adventures on the trail. We thought is was so cool that one of them loved the Grayson Highlands area. One of our favorite areas too. Wow, what a challenge too,,,,but they are all a very close knit family and all had such good memories together. Was so great to listing to them!
