Les, Paul, and Kevin, Thank you for the incredible content. I've watched Survivorman for years and just discovered this channel. (12/2024) I'm a forager, outdoorsman, and hunter. I love to cook as well, so you can see why I'm binge watching this series. Please keep them coming. Les, your Chocolate Foragers are gorgeous. I too have a 120lb Chocolate Forager named Rubble. He stands 29 inches to the shoulder. He loves to hunt fatwood. Remember, Chocolate Labs Rule the World. Thanks Guys.

This man is a Genius. I have eaten some version of each of these ingredients, but I can only dream of it looking like that. Chef Paul you are a legend.

2:49 This is the most wonderful dock I've ever seen. There's moss and a even a handful of trees/shrubs growing from it.
I love that everyone just agreed to let nature take over, instead of trying to force a "perfect" human-made structure here.
    Great show as always, thanks.

All those years of starving in the wilds, eating near-rotten meat, past-prime cattail roots, or as much yellow wood sorrel as he could find (and that’s not filling at all!), happy to see Les enjoying such fabulous food.

This is so far my favorite episode. Mostly because of the beauty of where you are. I have wonderful memories of mountain landscapes that this brings me back to them.
What Paul said regarding the rainbow trout was just extremely touching, I’m having trouble describing the emotion of it all.

As an angler, and a forager and a hunter. , this series is one of my favorites.
And as a survivor man watcher I tend to hear les strouds voice narrating my outdoor adventures.
    If you sweat you die
Water and shelter is more important than food.
Never set up a survival camp in the lowest topographical area because cold air sinks and by setting up halfway up a hill, it could be 15-20° warmer.
And buy a seven peice harmonica set !!
I would like to meet you, hunt ,fish forage survive or just play music, guitar and vocals or if could play bass, drums or keyboard...
    It would be my honor.

Thank you Les Stroud, an chef Paul. This was another great episode. I was in my grocery store awhile back and saw fiddleheads and was wondering how to prepare and eat them. Thank you very much for this information. This was an awesome episode. This part is to you Les. If you want some flies for fishing, I would be happy to tie some flies for you and send them to you. Let me know, and I can get tying some flies for you. Cheers.

I have a huge patch of ostrich ferns by my house and they grow in such abundance even without being greedy I can walk away with a bucket load, even by picking only one fiddle head from each plant. I'll usually blanch and freeze or pickle them. And they have a shelf life up to a year stored properly. But I enjoy them sauteed in truffle butter and topped with toasted pine nuts and a squeeze of lemon. Absolutely heavenly.

At 8:59, I have the utmost respect for what he said. I'm actually writing a book right now based around this concept. I'm not saying we should all become plant-based Tree Huggers, but what I am saying is that we should respect all life around us to the fullest. We should always be considerate and compassionate before we kill anything, even if it's for food.

Fiddleheads are something I'm used to eating. In Korean it is called gosari. We blanche it and let it dry in the sun and throw it into a spicy soup called yugaejang. It has a meaty quality and a very good pairing with beef since it is very good at absorbing flavor.
