I have three of those mishimoto MR2 rads in my attic.. All were warped from factory but one, which sprung a leak after a few months (they kept sending new ones free of charge though, good warranty). This was years back. Hopefully they've improved them by now.
Luckily the leaf spring broke at the shop and not on the road or at the show. My buddy and I had a spring break on his ATV trailer when I lived in Alaska. We were 200 miles from home and over a hour from the closest gas station. We found a burned out abandoned old Ford Ranger and were able to get a leaf spring off of it and rig it up to support the trailer good enough to get us home. It actually worked really well and we didn’t have any problems going home.
So in love with this MR2 the color,the style, the interior , the foglights just put whip cream and the engine start-up will be the cherry on top. That's money 👌🏼
Love the mr2!! Was wondering if you guys would consider doing a Mitsubishi Starion build? I think that car still looks pretty good even now. Would love to see your touch on one!
New build idea. First gen IS300 with a lightweight 4 cylinder swap (2AR from Toyota is actually really good). The FR chassis is great, the double wishbone suspension is easy to dial in, and the looks are timeless. Dropping the NA 2JZ would drop a few hundred pounds off the front of the car, and give enough space for a nice turbo setup. 350z transmission is stronger and lighter than the 5 spd Toyota units. Overall you could easily get the car under 3000lbs without stripping it out. Great car for Autocross or road course. Just an idea and something different from what everyone else is doing.

I always thought that it was odd that Evan got the MR2 but didn't work on it more (on camera, IMO) than the others. I was just like 'Damn... this mans got these guys building HIS car, he must be doing something right'

You guys are insane I'm all for Ricky style but man it's been Micky spec for most of the builds 👌 how about a Chevy luv or Mazda rotary pick up build for the next one or a vintage Alfa Romeo Giulia ?
that MR2 is my bucket list car... i would like more tech insight on how the computer and gauges work correctly when they have different voltage values and stuff. how does just "pinning" things out make the car work correctly outside of engine management? thanks
Love the car minus the front led headlights and the black turn markers....and corner lights. Get a set of stock clear corners and a turn signal delete bars and paint to match! Fogs are awesome! Love the rest of the car...really just those two little things....
How is the mr2 interior for space? This is a car I’ve recently fallen in love with because of you guys lol. I just like a more spacey interior, with it being a smaller old Japanese sports car, I doubt it’s roomy
Question... how are you going to get around smog to register it at DMV? You guys are based out of Southern California right? Is the car even registered at all?
@@rexrunner in Cali it doesn't apply(as in the 25 year old rule, it's like anything older than 1950-1960). It's almost impossible to register a 2gr swap in a mr2 there lol
You gotta have cats, but from what I hear you gotta have the factory cats,evap system,etc(pretty much a vehical inspection). The main issue is that the 2grfe never came with a manual trans in the U.S(new Tacoma's don't count since ecus arent from them/don't pop up as them), so in other words you gotta use a lotus ecu,etc or they done check the whole car to see if it has a manual trans(since Marc's/frankstines has his hacked ecus pop up as Highlanders with code readers) if they catch you you are in big trouble. It's way too much trouble than what it's worth, you're better off moving a state over if you want the car lol

Here in good old cali we can’t do anything cool to cars without it bing illegal... lol that’s also why I was asking throttle how are they going to go about the hole registration aspect. I’m sure it will be up to the winner of it an they will have to deal with all the headaches that goes along with it. It’s a sick car but for anyone in California this car would not be a good car to drive around in on the streets unregistered an not smog

And if some people are trying to enter to win it and live in Cali, I hope they know about the regerstaration,etc(unless they'll make this giveaway not eligible for Cali owners to make it easier). I think my entire time I've been in the v6 mr2 group/2grfe world(2-3 years now) I've only heard about 1 car in Cali that was legal, but that was a long time ago and before they changed certain stuff with laws. I'm glad I live in Ohio, running no cats on my 2grfe is amazing lol
