I love when people point out problems with an argument that is mirroring their own

he NEVER likes his own argument fired back at him. he point blank refuses it as hes nodding in agreement with it.
his argument has become "but i want to believe"

32:00 "i'm having trouble with a nature that's outside of space time" but no problem with an imaginary friend who is outside of space time. they all do this. all of them.

Wait, it doesn't need to be designed by us but the conglomeration of all designed things we have observed as designed.

Theist and their hinky special pleading. It's like they have never thought about arguments against them. How would Kornel handle the fact that I know gods are imaginary and imaginary creatures don't built universes.

23:00 the eric hernandez school of apologetics, "we'll have to agree to disagree" but kornel says "we've kind of hit a dead end" and what they mean is "you're arguments are air tight and i lost, so let's try another angle". sorry guys, there's no god.

"Fine Tuning" is probably the stupidest argument. "Tuning" supposes that there's a constraint for the "tuner".

Right? I was going to say the same thing. This whole discussion is a waste of time, because it's never been demonstrated that there is a plan or intention behind our current universe, so until that is demonstrated having any universe is totally unremarkable.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a theist’s brain break more times in a video than this one.

it's going to be a while before jesus comes back ,
when it takes 1.5 hours to get 1 argument to take hold
and this is one of the smartest theists on the planet

Tom keeps uploading old videos with no dates, doesn't even tag them 'reupload' or something, so I never know what's new and what's old. How recent is this debate? I'm only interested in recent stuff.

Tom is incredibly lazy so it's highly likely he isn't even managing the uploads.

I swear they pretend to be confused with Tom's parallel arguments. Dude you get it you are just pretending. And that's actually the more parsimonious take on his confusion. Either he's pretending or incredibly stupid.

also it came to everyone's attention because the numbers are so fractional, but they can be tweaked by quite large amounts before life becomes impossible, so this is like prophecies, prophesies are ALWAYS non specific, an event will occur at a time and place and the result will be, but the time of the event is never to the second, the place is never a longitude and latitude, and the result is usually vague and open to interpretation, same here, if you tune a guitar you don't tune it "near to pitch" it will be spot on, fine tuning isn't PERFECT, you can alter some of the values large amounts before life falls apart. and if that's the case i find myself wondering why god NEEDS to tune at all.
and god is immaterial - why does he create material so that material beings can result, being that will die and become immaterial again - stupid god.

  • @HarryNicNicholas
    @HarryNicNicholas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

if you're designing a universe, and you're also designing the occupants, there is no need to fine tune, just make them compatible. and why would you need to "tune" for life, god can do anything he wants and it has to work surely? tuning the universe implies someone else designed the humans and he had to build the universe around them. the more you go into it, the dumber "tuning" becomes. god, surely, would COARSE tune in fact, if he wants the odds to be better than bzillions to one against. when you are so wrapped up in a belief it's hard to see the flaws in it, but "fine tuning" is just another straw that won't keep you afloat when you're grasping for it.

If you, post hoc, describe something happening, and then measure the forces at play to the best of your ability, of course you can say "it was determined to happem because the values of the measurment of these forces allowed for it to be so".
Fine tuning is a post hoc description from an anthropic point of view. It's not a theistic argument and thats the funny part about these pseudo intellectuals regurgitating this tired and old theistic sophist script
