Nice one mate . Rotaries are reliable, they just need some more loving attention. Cooling, oil & ignition must all be well maintained and tip top . Regular redlining once warmed up to keep carbon deposits away as well plus Extra insurance with using idemitsu premix

In my early 20s l had an RX7 and l called it Kermit the frog lol because it was a beautiful bright green, l bought it 30 years ago from a little Mazda car yard in bottney, Sydney. I'm from the central coast and l had a load of fun in my beautiful little rx7 rotary, sold it after owning it for 3 years for $4000 more than what l paid for it, l didn't spend a cent on it as it was perfect. And from then on l was hooked on the 2 doors hence why l bought a beautiful black supra when l turned 40, kept my black beauty for exactly 10 years and then had to let her go to a very good home but im still lost without a car that gives you a buzz everytime you drive it lol and even a v8 statesman didnt give me that feeling, now driving a swift lol. Hopefully I'll get back into something that l love ❤️ your bluebird is gorgeous, I'm very envious. Every morning when you wake up, think of what you have, cheers Tracey xo ❤

Anything highly modified can become unreliable not just the rotary engine , more comes down to engine builder and tuner. Congratulations on the purchase fds are a killer car
Such a clean ride, congrats mate! I used to own a 2002 blue FD Type R Bathurst in Sydney in 2011-2013 when I was an international student. Your FD reminds so much of mine - RE bonnet, low, ganador mirrors, FEED sideskirts, odula carbon wing, Mica Blue. Had one of the best time of my life with it and that car didn't break down once on me. If you look after the car, it will look after you 😉It had the FD3S plate which is no longer available (cos I reported it as stolen lol). If I were you I'd get the FEED wide fenders to complete the look 👌

How many fuel stops to get back to Melbourne…… I had an FD track car, 80L tank plus 4 x 20L Jerry cans would typically be all gone after 4 x 15-20 minute sessions 😂
This is all fun and games until you in Melbourne, where it's speed bump central and you have to crabwalk over each and every one of them. One of the reasons i've never lowered any of my cars, there's a solid 6-7 speedbumps to get to any of the 3 main roads connecting to my street no matter what direction I go.
ironically enough i sold my FN2 a few days later after this, completely unplanned as well and i slightly regret it lol. always nice seeing you come down to sydney man!

They arent that unreliable. With v mount. It should be very cool and not prone to the heat cycling issues which can cause wear.
