At the end, when GACKT's flying, Kyrie from Duruflé's Requiem is played. The specific recording of that on the DVD gets auto-blocked worldwide on YT, so I replaced it with another recording of the piece, and sped that one up to be safe. I also added claps and screams from other parts of the DVD over the Requiem to make it sound like it's real haha.
Le ciel live... what can I say about it? This live gets seen as the highest point of MALICE MIZER history, the finale of their greatest concert. It's so powerful and amazing, both visually and musically, and one of GACKT's best compositions. I can't imagine how it must've been to experience it in real life... but I wasn't born then haha. The arrangement of this live version is closer to the single version than the album version, which is a good thing since the single ver. sounds much richer.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
And sorry for sometimes a small cracks/snaps/pops that are sometimes there, just like my Bel Air live of that same concert, I don't know what's causing it but it's very small and rare so it's okay.

Imagine going home after that religious experience of a concert … THAT POST CONCERT DEPRESSION MUST HAVE HIT. BIBLICALLY.
i played this song in the car today and my dad struck up a really interesting conversation surrounding his thoughts on malice mizer's style of music/singing, which made me think about music in general-- he said that his impression of the music wasn't surrounding whether it was good or bad to listen to, but rather that it felt very different from what the mainstream/charts conventionalise within our heads, and even the more underground artists (it subverts from the conventional blueprint of composing music and does it own thing)-- that this music is unique in that the style is, of course, inspired by by previous music by other artists, but it does it's own thing without any fear. it's raw, it's fierce, it's touching, and each song feels different because isn't that what creating is supposed to be about? unafraid to try different things, even when you aren't sure it'll turn out good. especially when you aren't sure. that's how a creation transcends time and becomes remembered, iconic, a dent in the fabric of our universe. when it does something new, like how we went from bach's baroque to mozart's classical to chopin's romantic, etc., it's those things that kickstart a new era, a new genre, a new archetype, a new trope, a new sub-genre, a new sub sub whatever. they consider what has been done, and then find what hasn't been done, and uses that to create something fresh and which is best for expressing what they want to, communicating what they want to, in a way they want to. just some stray thoughts running through my mind as i cry over this performance oh my god

This performance is the most "visual kei" -thing ever. Easily my favorite song from the band and I absolutely love this performance. First time I saw this could barely comprehend the awesomeness of it.

自分は今高校生です。精神的にギリギリな日々を送ってきたけど、最近MALICE MIZERに出逢って、この曲に出逢って、何だか涙が止まらなくなりました。まるで自分の心の悪い部分が浄化されていくみたいに…。活躍された時代に出逢えなかったのは残念だけど、今も人々の心に残り続けるMALICE MIZERに、自分が生きている間に出逢えて本当に良かった。生きてて良かったと思えました。ありがとう。

among many other praises i could sing about this performance, i am just really really impressed that gackt sang with fake blood in his mouth. it sounds dumb but like,, could he not swallow it?? it was probably hard to breathe too because we breathe through our mouth when we sing. he’s crazy for this and while he does strain for some notes 1. he never once sang a wrong pitch and 2. the strain honestly adds to the raw feeling of it

@@TheoRae8289 I feel like Gackt had always been sick when he performed lol, poor guy. I believe there is an interview or a video about him reacting to his younger self and talked about how skinny he was and his health before.

Its been now 24 years since Kamis passing and even though i never got to see him on stage i feel a stong connection to him on every song, live performance, etc. Rest in peace Kami 🦋💜he was truly beautiful and a talented drummer.

このライブビデオを毎日観て毎日この曲で泣いて、翌年こそライブに行こうと思っていたのに、年明けすぐにGacktの行方不明報道、脱退で一度も生で観れなかった二期MALICE MIZERのライブ。kamiちゃんが空に還って本当にもう二度と戻らないMALICE MIZER。今でも私にとっての真の神盤は二期のMALICE MIZERです。20年ぶりくらいに観てもやっぱり泣いてしまいました、ありがとうございました。
この５人だからこMALICEMIZERは、人気があったんでしょうね。当時の私には理解できませんでしたが…今見てもこれが20年前のなんて想像できません。GACKTがMALICEMIZERのメンバーだったことすら若い子は知りませんが、ぜひ、アルバムも聞いてみて下さい。やっぱり90年代に活躍してたバンドの曲を聞くとホッとしますね…

manaが出て来て歓声が凄いですね。あちこちから｢mana様｣って聞こえます。でもGacktが上から飛んで来る時は、１番の歓声で、さすがって言いたくなります。MALICEMIZERは、後10年活動していれば、ドラマに出たりして俳優もしてる人居たのかなぁ？kamiがこの世にいないのが悔やまれますが、今でも二期は、人気ありますからね。やっぱり5人だからよかったんでしょうね。

when it comes to malice mizer this has got to be the best live performance of any of their songs ever. literally one of, if not, the coolest live performance of a song out there. this was a whole movie. this whole concert in general is awesome but specifically this performance of le ciel is incredible. feels like witnessing something mystical, i never get tired of rewatching it.

Estoy maravillada de lo impresionante que es este concierto. El escenario, el setlist, los vestuarios, la interpretación de todos, la teatralidad de cada una de las canciones es simplemente impresionante. Siempre regreso a ésta canción porque creo es la mejor interpretación que ha tenido. Ver a Gack bajar con las alas negras, la entrada de cada uno de ellos, es brutal. Me enchina la piel y me dan ganas de llorar de lo mucho que me gusta Malice Mizer y en especial esta presentación.
