- HIYA! Here is the full live show merveilles l'espace, by MALICE MIZER, in HD 1080p and 60FPS. This upload has much more video and audio quality than the last one, and it contains the entire show & the bonus feature at the end. Enjoy this glorious show!
This amazing live showcases MALICE MIZER in its full glory, and each song & performance is amazing in its own right. It's also an extremely varied concert full of theatrical elements, and a lot of different genres and emotions. Some highlights are the GACKT & Kami piano/drums duet, the Le ciel ending act and masterpieces from the merveilles album such as Bel air, au revoir, and Gekka no yasoukyoku. And of course so much more.
It starts off with a bang, with S-CONSCIOUS, which also happens to be my least favourite song from the album. But with all of its brutality, it's a really fitting way to start the concert and make you excited for what's to come.

If you're wondering why I upload this once again, here's the story.
Recently I uploaded Gekka no Yasoukyoku / 月下の夜想曲, as a seperate video from this show, and while talking to commenters of that video, especially Tony Oik I realised how it would be a great idea to upload this entire show again, since I am very unhappy with the current upload I have of this.
That other upload, while it does have good quality, could have been much better, both visually, and the audio. About the audio of that upload, it has occasional skips that really bother me. As you may have noticed, that upload also doesn't contain ILLUMINATI and Mezame no rasen / 目醒めの螺旋, partly due their vi0l3nt and s3xu4l nature, and also partly because these songs are right at the beginning, and could give a wrong impression of the band to newcomers.
I have decided to put my personal bias aside of these two tracks, and just upload the live fully because they really are an important and integral part of the experience, and most people enjoy them very much.
If you want to show this concert to newcomers, but not give a wrong impression, the other upload is still there already, so no need to censor this one!
Also, this upload here has been upgraded to a very smooth 60FPS, by filling in the extra frames with calculated movements inbetween.
The ending of this live has a classical requiem, the one of composer Maurice Duruflé. But the copyright holders of that original recording have decided to mute every upload on TH-cam that contains it, while MALICE MIZER has nothing to do with it. As a result of that, if you try to upload the original DVD on TH-cam, it gets muted. So as with the previous upload, the requiem at the end has been replaced by another performance of it, with cheering sounds I edited over it, to resemble the original audio. This time I did it much better than with the previous upload, it has less skips and better sound mixing.
Also, I added the image gallery at the end, it's a bonus feature from the DVD. I myself put the two songs over it to accompany the images, because in the original, it constantly looped the same part of Bois de merveilles, which can get annoying after the ending credits which have the exact same song lol. Le ciel instrumental seemed like a perfect fit for it.
Anyway, I worked really hard on this upload, because this live is just beyond amazing! And it really deserves a perfect video online for everyone to enjoy.

Malice Mizer is such a interesting and detailed group, too bad I had to be born so late and found them so late! I just recently found them a month ago but at least I have a lot of content I can catch up on. And Mana Sama has his TH-cam channel ^^ They are probably my favorite vkei band out there, I hope they can have their anniversary concert after covid goes away 😔

@@kamicatz they didnt disband, they went on a loooong hiatus, Klaha disappeared from public in 2007 without any explanation, but Mana, Közi and Yu~ki still hold concerts every two years (except last year because of covid19)

This entire concert is just...it's amazing. All of these guys are (well, were) so talented. You can see a lot of the early theatricality and conceptual stuff that Gackt would do later in his solo career. It's so rare to have a band that can put on such a great show, yet also have so many talented people in it who could compose so many great songs and play so many different types of music...I'm honestly not surprised they burned out like they did, because that much genius can only burn so bright before it dims just as fast.

田舎住みですがガクトに憧れてたまにこのガクトにコスプレして夜散歩してました
村内で夜にマネキンの化け物が現れると会議にかけられたのを母親から聞かされてからは辞めましたが
当時このビデオを擦り切れるくらいみたファンの一人です。
今観てもこの世界観を表現してる５人がマジでかっこいい。
特にKöziとYu～kiが痺れるくらいかっこええ！
この頃の中性的なGacktは怪しい色気と狂気が表現できてて本当に魅力的だった
今見返すと20年以上前のライブなのに、今のGacktのVISUALIVEの原点を垣間見れる
この伝説のバンドがあと2年、いや1年でも活動を続けられていたら、どんなライブが見れたのか、どんな曲が生まれていたのかとか色々思うなぁ
最後のシングル「Le ciel」はシングルカットなのに当時の激戦のオリコンで初登場４位までいったの見ると
多分オリジナル曲を出していたらもうマリスはオリコンTOP3入れるくらいまではいけたレベルになってたのに
ほんと勿体なかった・・
インディーズからファンでした。コスプレして打ち込みボーカルコピーしてました。ガクトがソロになり、バニラまで歌いました。もしマリスミゼルのままだったらどんな世界観を魅せてくれたのか…🥺
色んな想いはあったんだろうけど多くの人がそのままのMALICE MIZERでいて欲しかったと思ってます。

Malice mizer is definitely different. It’s a band where you can look merely at lives and videos of their music and feel satisfaction. It’s truly different watching this make me feel a mix of emotions all completely different, if you heard S-CONSCIOUS and le ciel you defo be surprised they’re by the same band. It disheartens me that I was born to late to see these legends perform , this band has truly aged like fine wine .

ライブ行ってました～懐かしい。この映像は1998年の横浜アリーナです。
マリスのライブはオールスタンディングだと後ろの列にコスプレの人が並ぶからそれも壮観でしたよ。
マリスのために生まれたみたいなビジュアルと声を持つGakckがいたからこそのマリス2期…今見てもすごいなと思います。
加入時Gacktはステージで飛びたいとコメントしてるので、それが叶ってるのも見どころです。
結果的に1:4の決裂をしてしまって、メジャー期間が1年ほどになってしまったのが本当に勿体なかった…。
ライブいってたとか一生の思い出ですね、うらやましすぎる。

I was also born late... Not even born during the merveilles era. Maybe they will do more reunions in the future! I hope that will happen again, in a future where I'll be able to go attend it. 究極のヴィジュアル系 日本のヴィジュアル系で世界に誇れる唯一無二のバンド。サウンド、エンターテインメント 本当に素晴らしい。MALICE MIZERはブレる事なく常に斬新で圧倒されました。これを越えるバンドはもう出ないでしょう、せめて後3年でも神威さんが居てくれたら。。更に素晴らしいMALICE MIZERが見れたと思います。
Kami was up there with Yoshiki and Shinya (Luna Sea) as the most distinctive drummer of all time. Just a shame he passed away like Raphael's guitarist and lyricist did.

wowwww I was into visual kei back in 2008 but was a young teen and in the US so I didn't get to see any lives. There were videos and short wikis in English about artists then but the information that is updated now is enormous compared to before! I never even knew Gackt was a multi-instrumentalist, wrote all the lyrics and grew up on classical music + enka -> this info was not available in English before!! So for anyone who thinks they got in too young, don't fret it really. Unless you were around 18 in the 90s in Japan, we all missed that boat together loong ago lol At least we still have the Internet and more information is shared now. This is the 2nd dawning of my visual kei obsession and there are actually more uploads on Utube now than ever before lool thank u internet and bless you OP!!! AMAZING UPLOAD!!
Thank you so much for this upload! As a teenager I could never really get into Malice Mizer and favored Moi Dix Mois over it. Finding this live has now years later made me obsess over Malice Mizer. In general I've been slowly finding the older visual kei scene and found a lot of appreciation for the music that my teenage self overlooked in favor of the heavier mid-late 2000s vkei. 90s visual kei was(and still is) awesome!
