The generator alone is well worth that price, I had one of those on my bucket truck. The problem my generator had was the needle valve was bad, so fuel would leak in, and it would act like it was hydro locked. I had to pull the plug and get the gas out of it. After that initial drain it ran fine for the rest of the day.
***** yeah, i found it on craigslist but my parents didn't know what to do with it. we have a cabover camper and a horse trailer with living quarters. i told them they could pull the generator and scrap the rest and still make money, and they bought it. it looks like it's gonna get reverse fixed and a good scrubbing, a new set if tires and a one way ticket to canada. my stepdad's brother can sell stuff for 3x as much in alberta than here in california. as for the generator, if jumping it doesent work i'll definitley pull the plugs. in mot sure how starter-generators work, but when the guy we got it from demonstrated the generator, it cranked really slow for 10 seconds and then started. in another video, i trash picked a simmilar onan 4KW generator and it has zero hesitation.
