    A month ago we had a monster storm come through here. Our local dirt race track was having a event that night. Normally most the participants stay at a local RV park but some camp out at the track to save $$. That night the whole pit parking lot washed out and two 35 foot RVs got buried.. it took 3 heavy wreckers to get em out

    Gotta love the people who can afford to buy a rig like that but forget to buy the brains it takes to run one of them! They make them drive so smoothly that they forget about the size and turning radius they actually need to manoeuvre them. Bad for them, food for George!

      He had turned around in the same spot in the past . Difference today with no rain the sand is powder soft . He actually almost got out but his front tire hit the hole that his rear tires had dug . This dropped the nose of RV into dirt . Game over .

    Excuse me George, did you serve in the navy and hence the ring tone on your phone? And if you didn’t serve in the navy and it was another branch please forgive me, I wasn’t looking to start an argument sir, I respect what you do and you are good at it. I watch because before I retired use to have to winch other employees out of some crazy areas they got into, and I enjoyed that work a lot.
    And if you served, let me thank you for your service to our country sir

    What the price for this job? I am always curious if the insurance membership covers. Like AAA has car and rv membership that allows 4 tows a year. Only $119 a year for premium membership

    • @HILLAUTOBODY
      @HILLAUTOBODY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      AAA had to change their RV policy . So many homeless owners of RV's were using AAA to tow junk RV's all around the country that now AAA pays Max $500 per incident . On a big RV your will burn through $500 just hooking up and dropping driveline .

    • @jimsmith9819

      RV is 190 dollars a year and premium is more

    Obviously, he was trying to make a loop to the left in that field and park next to his buddy, The other RV must have got away with it. Soil conditions really got him!! Done a lot of that kind of thing myself at RV get togethers....

      Dry sand does not compact . In rainy season you could most likely drive all over that lot .

    Hey George !!! Good job again ,but "WATCH"" using a receiver for pulling as there is a video on TH-cam of a recovery that went "SOUR"" when the receiver pin sheared off on the "TOW" Vehicle & the receiver & tow strap went thru the windshield of the truck Killing the Driver in front of his Family who was in the truck !! 😏😮‍💨🙄

    • @dannylim3318
      @dannylim3318 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The towing hitch is the best place to pull tbe RV. Other than that, there aren't many places to pull it on the back of the RV. And, if you noticed...everyone got out of range when the pulling was being done. George is the expert.

    Is it me or do you really make this look a lot harder than it should be?
    I would have had him in the coach with the rig in reverse or at least neutral so your not dragging his whole chassis non stop
    All tires braked with air and your dragging him thru sand and grass.
    I like your videos But just seems you made this one way more challenging than it needed to be

    • @HILLAUTOBODY
      @HILLAUTOBODY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We had to get him back on the road to start with . I did have him put it in reverse with brakes off after getting him lined up with the road . Even in reverse the RV would not back up with the front tire buried in the soft sand . I, guessing the auto transmission has a safety feature that will only allow so much torque to rear end .

    Class A drivers should know better than to take the RV off the gravel into soft dirt...........

    • @rupe53
      @rupe53 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's part of the problem. You don't need a class A to drive an RV of that size. You'd be amazed at how little that thing weighs. I'm sure it's well under 20,000 pounds.

    Love all the armchair quarterbacking lol. I’ve watched these drive on and in sand (I live at Pismo Beach) all the time, and watched someone flat foot it through the mud at Martinsville Raceway campground once . Looks like he was just trying to get to his friend over there and hit a soft spot. It happens. Nice gentle recovery.
