    Wondering what happened with this gentlemen's issues, were they resolved?
    This is an excellent example of why before signing on that dotted line you get a qualified inspector to go through all the systems on any RV you've wanting to purchase. We do it with houses, cars and other purchases but sadly many times on things like RVs and Boats inspections get overlooked and they are critical as this video shows...

      Really man that is just terrible. You know what I have a 2007 Pacearrow 35 foot RV and to be honest the fit and finish is very very good compared to the newer ones I have been seeing. LIke everything in mine works. I have some things now go out though like the Weldex camera old CRT bad circuit board man. But that is time to replace withe a new color unit. Also some small cabinet hardware needed to be replaced but its been 15 years now ACs work, The heater works. Shower , water pump still going strong. Jacks good everything .

    Hello Andrew. I appreciate the fact that you show that owning an RV is not always a slice of heaven. I'm sure that person paid a lot of money for that Coach and to have all those problems after 4 days shows exceptional poor quality control.

    Im NOT going to beat you guys up. As the owner of a Class A Diesel Pusher Newmar, I can tell you from experience that this is not something to fault the manufacturer for. This is a DEALER issue. Whoever prepped (or in this case DIDN'T prep) needs a stearn talking to. You know, it doesn't matter if you spend 20K or 500K, the buyer deserves the best product AND the best service and support regardless of what they bought. We have had motorcoaches for a long time and my continuous gripe is always the service company. I will tell you what I do for future needs that REALLY helps us. After a few times of our dealership just going through the motions, keeping our coach 3-4 weeks for simple repairs etc, I had to let my anger go by and decided to deal with this in a different manner and I can tell you this makes a difference. When we go into the dealership they flock to us to greet us, help us and now go above and beyond what our past history has been. The difference is how I treat them. Little things, When I drop off the coach, we bring the service techs boxes of fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts, once I overheard my service advisor who always handles us talk about her upcoming wedding, so we brought in a couple bottles of wine as a surprise for her. Their lead technician went overboard to take care of an electrical issue and within a necessary time because of pre scheduled vacation. I thanked him for the outstanding work by giving him a cool watch !. Point being, make them WANT to deal with you, not want to run from you. These small gestures of gratitude go a long way. I can assure you they will remember you over all of the other people and their anger or unreasonable requests. I'm sorry for the dampening of your new coach experience, get through it as calmly as you can. Give them a chance to make things right. and once that is done don't focus on what went wrong, focus on everything being right NOW. Best of Luck, you will enjoy your coach I'm sure !!

      @RVingwithAndrewSteele  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You shouldn't have to bribe anyone to get a functioning coach. I appreciate your feedback and even mentioned on a previous video when I was in Indian when my buddy bought doughnuts for the folks at Newmar. it is really sad that the industry is come to the point that the only way to get anything done is to spend more of your hard-earned money bribing people to get the work done.

    One of the biggest issues with the RV industry is lack of accountability. Luckily, good companies take care of the issues, however, that doesn’t account for all of the “headaches” owners go through when the problems come up. Not to mention the money spent in hotel stays, loss of campground stays, etc. We need to go to congress and lobby for a better system of accountability and quality control when these coaches are being built!

    • @PastorwithoutaPulpit
      @PastorwithoutaPulpit 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When has getting government involved in things like quality control ever helped? Most of the time it just jacks up prices and lines some politicians pockets. Let's get back to personal accountability and letting our wallets speak for us. Companies will listen when their bottom line goes down. Instead of wanting instant gratification and buying something without a proper inspection that would have caught this gentlemen's issues before that coach even left the lot get them inspected before you sign on the dotted line...

    I just bought the 2020 Fleetwood Bounder 35K and we had a list of problems too. Our radio didn't work from day 1, under the slidesouts there are big indented scratch marks in the floor, the front windshield moldings came off during delivery and they put blue tape on it. A whole bunch more. Our dealer really encouraged us to buy the after market warranty because we are full-time and it looks like it'll be worth every cent. Unreal!!

    • @RVingwithAndrewSteele
      @RVingwithAndrewSteele  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately those aftermarket warranty companies can make you jump through all kinds of hoops. I'm not a fan of aftermarket warranty, I think the RV manufacturers should have a little more quality control so your RV doesn't have to spend so much time in the shop. Congratulations on the purchase, once you work out the bugs, you will love the bounder, great coach!

    I can sympathize with this guy. I had a very similar experience with even more critical components of our 2019 ace 33.1. Dealer support was horrific, Thor had its moments but overall it gets C- . Not to mention the fact that when you shell out that kind of money (even more for this gentleman). You don’t expect to have things vibrating off the wall, appliances not working, In my case a hydraulic fire all within the first couple of months of ownership. After seven months of owning ours, I only had 2 1/2 months of possession. I finally took things into my own hands and now the unit is very serviceable, and we enjoyed a great deal but the dealer and manufacturer quality control and customer service have much to be desired.

I am 65 and looking to enjoy whatever time the good Lord has left for me. I'm not intrested in spending $200,000+ then fighting with the dealer and manufacture over getting bullshit taken care of. I thought the whole point of buying a motor home is to go places and enjoy yourself.

    The RV industry on a whole does not have good quality control for the last 50 years. My unit had the same issues with air conditioning and it took a long time in the air condition the dashboard is hit-and-miss. I've also had a lot of generator issues with mine. Just thank God I don't have slide ins. I like that you showed us a slide ins, it's not too bad inside but I wouldn't recommend it for seniors. I do like the door entryway, that's better for seniors are the impaired medically challenged users for units like this. I don't know if I like that separation when the slide in is E on the inmode, behind the driver's seat. I don't know if a traveler could stay in this unit overnight if they'd had to depend on not putting the slides out. The paint job is still a little Gotti and spells out money capitalist. I think the front bumper could get pitted very easily, I think it would be better off if they substitute it in some stainless steel on the lower Front bumper. We also had a lot of issues with our Awning, and finally went to a different manufacturer we just gave up. these units are just money pets, and it's sad to say how technology has advanced, there's still a lot of issues. Just think how bad off Fleetwood would be if they still had their travel trailer and their campers and their vocal home Plates. During the last recession they dropped all of these. Andrew, it worries me that you don't protect your neck from your sun, I lost 7 in of my neck to skin cancer because I didn't protect between the hairline And the shirt. getting back to the RVs I've had a lot of issues with the heating system, the water heater and the refrigerator, but the oven has remained perfect The entire time.

The list kept growing as time went on through the first year. Some things were nitpicking on my part but some were just flat out poor workmanship and lack of quality control. My RV's the same way. You know I see that that the fit and finish is good but they need better Quality control. I like the interior but I also do like my older Gas powered 2007 35 Pacearrow the colors seem warmer. For those Battery house issues big thing with RV and Pacearrows. You might of had a power surge somewhere along the system and the Convertors get wierd. Go ahead and locate the switch panel main board with the fuses on it and then pull the ATX looking cables like you do on your CPU motherboard once you do that reset everything goes back into compliance. Of course hit the Power Aux Switch to off first kill the power in the coach before you do the pulling of plugs.

Generator starts only when the rig is on but the same red light error on the inverter (Dead Battery) comes on. Batteries appear to be original and small layers of corrosion are forming on the ground on each battery. Does this sound like equipment failure or do I simply need new batteries?

    What would you recommend for a class A diesel pusher for 300k or less. Specifically a bunk model. Thank you. I was looking at a Berkshire LS but don’t know about their quality

    Hey I got a question for you guys what percent of Class A RV ( All makes and models under 300,000 Including diesel and gas)
    I've been looking at a lot of TH-cam videos about RVs ...
    And I see there could be lots of problems that you have to put up with which can very annoying ....
    Is it always that bad .....And I have to put up with the stuff that goes wrong.... and try to get a fix ...
    or has it ever been known that you buy a good vehicle with no problems

    Is this the company that just bought Newmar??? Hope not

    • @recordingmastering
      @recordingmastering 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe Winnebago bought Newmar...and btw, the quality issues extend to every RV manufacturer out there. Brand new coaches coming off the line with extensive problems. But wait, there's more ! then you have to try and get the problems fixed by dealers who have enormous hassles with the manufacturers warranty reimbursements. Example, the dealer will say that the fix took x number of hours : the manufacturer says no way, it should've took only x number of hours. Result ? Really poor after sale warranty work. It's a bad, bad spiral. Something has to be done.
