I wish they add a sound effect when you reach 3 combo point so you dont have to look down all the time. This would solve the condemnation dagger problem and just make combo gameplay more fluent.
@@JR-sz7dw I don't see how looking down no where near your character is a good thing at all; a sound effect would still keep the same "skill" factor, without having to compromise being able to move around and dodge mob abilities etc. The other option they could do is put the combo points above your character's head. Either of these options would still keep the "skill" factor you're probably going for, while alleviating the obvious flaw of NOT looking at your character. It'd be like playing WoW and using the default Blizz UI where all your buffs are in the top right hand corner... it's inefficient as hell.
I agree. I'd also say they should only let you equip one unique, and make sure they're powerful enough to justify the restriction. That would give us a lot more build diversity, rather than just "use these three uniques". It also means you hopefully won't feel as bad about not having all the uniques for your build, as you build around the ones you find.
They likely are over-correcting from D3. As they get more feedback I think they will definitely make the necessary changes (though knowing blizz they don't understand the word "moderation"). I DO FEEL that based on how rare these things are to get, it SHOULD definitely have build-defining aspects or multipliers and not the weak sauce that most of these current uniques are.
If they're build defining that would mean that people's builds wouldn't come online until you find it, and the frustration of going into hour 30 without seeing it for example... nah i'd rather avoid that
I was looking through the comments and surprised I didn't see anyone mention how good Ashearas dagger is! I think your review underrated this item a bit. This thing is an absolute beast for TB/Deathtrap build with a good roll on the special affix of 25-30%. The attack speed is absolutely nuts, not only does it drastically improve your ramp up time when the proc is online (which it is permanently pretty much), so you can inject TB much faster and be on the move, the faster attacks also increases your exposure procs too so you get more reliable death trap resets. Once you find and equip it, it feels like your rogue goes up a tier of power. It is very very good and feels so incredibly nice to play with. Only scenario i wouldnt use it is if its like 20 itempower below your other weapons and has a bad attack speed roll.
yep Im lvl 75 now. found ashearas at 63 with a nice roll. definitely felt like a big time upgrade and nothing comes close to replace it yet. found condemnation dagger at 72 and im dual wielding twisting blades melting through everything so far
the lack of unique weapons, let alone crossbows, is really sad. D3 felt like it had way more interesting items that are not just "gain 10 to 30 percent more damage when X"
Seems like you are talking about legendary effects and set bonuses, D3 had more stuff that would modify your skills but the stats on items were kind of ass, pretty 90% of the builds would use the exact same stats, crit chance, crit damage wherever you could, attack speed, cooldown reduction, etc. D4 has more nuance on the stat side of things but the legendary aspects and paragon bore are kind of a snooze fest of adding more percentage to different things. TLDR: D4 has better items on the stat side of things but they need to make more interesting effects in the paragon board and aspects. In D3 you didn't really have to make hard choices for survival, you maxed out DPS and would add survivability where you couldn't get good dps stats basically.
Agreed. Also, the stats and aspects on unique aren't even better than legendaies in most case. This is a failure on Blizzard's part. Uniques should be leaps and bounds better than most legendaries.
For the Skyhunter bow, the first shot counts for any weapon not just the bow. I use it for twisting blades and spam it trying to hit multiple enemies. Then once it returns and starts spinning it’s still considered first shot on an enemy dealing critical damage to surrounding enemies. Rinse repeat and add some poison. 😊
I’m using Razorplate, and it’s awesome. Again, I don’t think you thought through these uniques and are calling items trash that are actually really good. Match Razorplate up with a bubble or overshield, get perks that increase your damage, that give you health on a kill, that give you armor when you do damage, and that give you health when you’re surrounded, use the aspect that damages surrounding enemies when one enemy takes thorn damage, and use the death trap to bring in surrounding enemies to unleash your thorn fury. All you need to do is just stand there and watch enemies hit you and die. How is this trash?
I played alittle with the clone gloves and I agree you dont notice the clones damage. But one thing i liked them for was when you used dash. Your dash would slow and then the clones dash would daze. which I think was a pretty cool interaction atleast.
Yes the imitate aspect where shadow clone get your imbuement does work, i tested this with barrage even though i casted imbuement before the clone appear. As for the dash, there is already an aspect that guarantee dash will spawn a clone right after to daze enemy do I much prefer that because its more reliable.
I use skyhunter for guaranteed melee crit. The aspect applies to any direct damage, not just the bow. Combined with the shadow step aspect, I can just spam shadow step and kill enemy after enemy provided I am one-shotting them. It’s useless on elites, but hella fun on non-elites.
In regard to the amulett it would be nice if they remove the directional Aspekt of rain of arrows and make it a area of effect around the character instead to get more use out of it. But as it is now especially when playing with a controller the rain of arrows is really hard to pull of properly
I think you undervalue Temerity. You can pot while at full health to have a constant barrier up and run the aspect which increases your damage while you have a barrier up.
This was a really helpful breakdown, thank-you. I've come to the same conclusions from my own testing and generally agree with everything you've said here.
The problem is that these items for rogue are not rare, I have almost all of them and I am lv77 only. Some of them I have 2, 3 copies. But they're worthless, there are no use for them. If they were just a bit rarer (not shaco level), but were really strong and had impact on the builds you would have an adrenaline rush when getting one. Right now when a unique drops (is it not a helmet, that there is a small chance of being the shaco) I just think, "another useless item that will rest in mt stash".
Temerity isn't great for the reasons mentioned, but something interesting is you can use it with the ~100hp/s per stack of Momentum affix to have basically a permanent barrier that automatically refreshes itself very quickly. This can be stacked with the X% damage when you have a barrier aspect and have very good uptime. I don't think it's an optimal combination but it can be useful/interesting especially if you want to run Momentum anyway
Right def should've been mentioned - I actually think this is the ONLY reason one would use Temerity - huge uptime on that barrier for that +% multiplier dmg you combo it with(conceited aspect). For me, supposedly almost 100% uptime as a marksman rogue lol. There have been talks though that it's glitched rn [look up "conceited aspect still broken"] - but a sick combo if it works.
definitely agree about the Grasp of Shadows gloves. it was my first unique in ~10 levels so was a nice upgrade...then i saw what the shadow clone it spawns does and got sad lol. it literally does 1 attack then POOF. gone. so it's just a stat stick till something better drops.
For word of Hakan you don’t need energy cost reduction or cooldown reduce because you can run 3 imbues, concealment, rain of arrows and rapid fire. You don’t run out of energy because rapid fire refunds itself agains vuln targets. So you’re basically an imbued machine gun nonstop and that comes full of cc.
I find it sad that Uniques can be interesting enough to try and form your entire build around them, but then they aren't strong enough to work, even if you build around them.
Looks like most unique items are even weaker in their stats than legendaries due to missing core stats like 'Temerity' missing def stats or 'Asheara's Khanjar' missing vulnerable damage (let alone a good legendary sword can roll vul dmg+core dmg+crit dmg all along). Another issue is legendary aspect like edge master, its too powerful, giving you x% dmg multiplier just like those set items in diablo 3, which making its a 'must-have' and too difficult to be replaced
one fix could be like, for example, giving way more armor for 'Temerity' than other pants, considering it doesn't have any def stats; and personally if I'm designing uniques, I'll probablly give them more stats not restricting having 4 stats same with rare or legendary items - Razor plate is a very good example, but in an opposite way
They should just let us reroll a stat on unique like we can with rares and legos. So you can at least get your best stat on them and it doesn't feel so bad wearing uniques that has 4 clown stats.
Been running a sacred Temerity on my 100 Rogue, got it ages ago. Could the stats be better? Sure. But the only way I lose my chunky barrier is by not playing the game. Like, at all. These are very, very good on melee Rogue. At least in softcore. If you drop them, try them. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
I tried temerity for a bit and didn't like it much.. Normally as a rogue you are not at much of a risk when constantly attacking and getting that lifesteal/heal (especially for a melee rogue) which temerity works of.. You are in much bigger risk when cc'ed and you can't keep up those attacks and get the lifesteal in which case temerity fails anyways. I instead prefer running my normal pants with max life, total armor%, dodge chance% damage red from close which goes a long way in protecting me when I'm surrounded and getting chain cc'ed.. plus you have a choice of defensive aspects to run then Switching to temerity actually got me killed a couple of times which is when I decided to go back to my normal pants Maybe temerity will be better against a boss who hits hard but there is less chance of cc.. idk
There is actually a very use case scenario for Temerity unique, using the Stolen vigor with Momentum passive to heal you instantly along with the Siphoning Strikes, so you will the barrier active constantly. Then combining it with the Aspect of Conceited Serpent. I'm currently using the first part with the Aspect yet and I'm tanking like a track in Tier 55 NM dungeon at level 80. Let me know your thoughts on this. my build is focus on all imbuements with the new wrathful heart that apply all imbuements with high lucky hit chance. Thanks.
If you press both inputs for basic/core skills on a controller it will use the basic until combo points are full and only then use the core skill, so the tech is there for always using condemnation procs perfectly just not via MnK.
@@robinnowak1238 no, just pressing down both inputs on my controller at the same time. It will use the basic until you have full combo points and then use core. 👍
@@arachny16 thanks ! Very interesting , I will try this. Another question is if I’m playing this legendary weapon , I can see combo points when using basic skill. So theoretically is it just having the Effekt when using the core skill wenn I have builded up the 3 combo points ? Or is the next core skill always with the bonus effect if I had at least 3 combo points ?
Playing D4 right now. I think this video is spot on. Most of the uniques, some of which I found which this video mentions are "trash". Never used em, never will. I use twisting blades as my build. Wish more of these uniques had basic skill damage and core damage or even close damage. Those stats on most of these uniques are trash. Also for those people saying "crowd control"...coming from POE, the objective is to KILL and KILL FAST. If you kill it you don't have to worry about crowd control. In fact the most effective crowd control is to kill the mob and since rogues have always and traditionally been a DPS build, one would think the stats would reflect this...but again this video is spot on, it does not. Also, I don't use an ultimate skill. I find the ultimate skills, while effective are not very dependable with those HUGE cooldowns. I'd rather have consistent dps.
Doombringer is probably really good for high tier dungeon pushing considering it's the only way you could get significant defensive properties on a weapon. Most likely still good even if you are not a shadow build. %Max life and reducing enemy's damage are both ultra valuable.
I tryed to see if Temerity was really bugged and surprisingly, even tho it writes I have around 6300 Barrier. I went into Aldurwood NM and tested on an Isolated Tree to see how much dmg I really take. First hit with out barrier I had 13k hp and had 4k hp left so I lost around 9k hp. Second Hit after stacking barrier to maximum I took a hit and still had barrier after getting hit, which was strange because 9k is > to the 6300 barrier, so I think the tooltip is bugged and it actually grants 80% max hp. As a note in game the barrier actually covers 80% of my hp kinda like other class like Druids or Sorc when they have barrier. Currently using it despite the stats as it adds 1 good defensive Legendary Aspect and the one I usually have on pants (disobedience) is on my amulet. So I can have Aspect of Might, Cheat's Aspect, Disobedience and Temerity with the addition of Momentum + Dr from poisoned, dr from elites, dr from vulnerable, dr from close, all dr and max hp.
I think barriers have its own damage reduction multiplier. Same goes with the barrier from hitting elites. A 5000 hp barrier will withstand multiple attacks that can easierly kill u at 5000hp and still not break.
I just looted an Asheara's. Only had a few minutes to play with it, but the extra attack speed was nuts. Did a quick dungeon and ran into the Butcher. Poison Imbue and TB with Bursting Venom just melted the bastard.
Nice. I actually needed this. Sadly, I knew rogues unique were bad. The only ones I used were the boots and pants. and even those are bad at max level. I wish the necklace would imbue one of the Marksman core ability and not the useless ultimate.
" I wish the necklace would imbue one of the Marksman core ability and not the useless ultimate." Hell no, it almost make that ultimate viable. It's a small buff away from being a fun skill while the core abilities of the rogue are pretty much all viable already. No point in buffing something that's already good over something that's not.
Eyes in the dark you got wrong. It sucks early on since you one hit everything with death trap. I was lvl 62 in torment. Using death trap on elites was nuts. I kept procing it and procing it with the cooldown reductions of my build. It would heal me each time as well with siphoning strikes. It gets better when your facing more difficult monsters. It does suck against bosses, but still it does work.
I agree with most your assessment. Eyes in the dark I found this to work pretty well against elites, but ultimately got rid of them in favor of damage reduction aspect and poison trap or using another imbuement skill is better than waiting for death trap. Grasp of shadow, once I switched to max roll of crowd control spread at 50% that was a game changer for me on the gloves and it's much better than that shadow clone. The single hand dagger that procs attack speed is pretty interesting, I haven't seen that one yet, but maybe the roll on that particular one you showed isn't very good, not sure. I have 50% attack speed increase on 2 handed weapon that procs all the time with flurry core skill crits using encircling blades aspect. Also just got the penitent greaves cause I wanted the frosted ground behind me lol, otherwise they're kinda crap, the other legendary boots I use have 3 extra evade charges and legendary aspect of toxic pool on poison imbuement which works all the time
So far. I have scraped every unique item I have gotten. Most have stats that are useless for the way I play and only some have some stats that are ok but as a whole the whole item is useless. They need to fix the unique items somehow. Maybe make them customizable but with only certain stats and aspects like a pool of stats and aspects that are unique to a certain item. But yeah. I’ve scrapped every single unique item unfortunately.
lot of useful information. Rain of arrows + rapid fire with that unique is by far my favorite build to run you feel like a actual archer playing it. run it with preparation so you're getting 4 secs cd every 100 energy and with a cd stat helm and you're solving the huge downtime issue since you're not using a basic skill anyway. With poison trap, poison inb, shadow inb, RF, RoA, and your choice of SS or conceal to break out of cc you'll have so much cc it's crazy. With resets on imbue skills from prep you pretty much never have downtime on any skills as well. good mob aoe and great single target with poison RF means you're covered for everything.
25% lucky hit is massive because you can stack lucky hit skills/aspect on you and they're all buffed. bursting venoms, vengeful, umbrous, victimzie/cruel sustenance, and all the important imbue upgrades like chance to double poison damage (!), blast trapper to proc vulnerable on a pack, mangler to daze, etc. its all pretty useful and 25% is a lot.
problem is that the value of lucky hit goes on what your lucky hit is, and its very minor to put into perspective if you have 8% luckyhit chance u get 100% lucky hit chance on item that means u gain another 8 % not that you have 108% chance. many ppl misunderstand this. Thats why luckyhit is horrible and need to be reworked just as overpower need to get reworked.
what you misunderstand is that every hit is a lucky hit chance. if you hit 10 mobs or ten times one mob you got 10x lucky hit chance. which means if you go to 240% chance (the max possible with all items buff and pen shot buffed) to on a 10% it will be 24% lucky hit on every hit. if you do 10 hits with only one skill (barrage, pen shot, flury, rapid, tb are all multi hit skills) then there will be 2-3 procs for only one skill cast. imagine if you cast your skill a few times there will be many procs : this is what happens when you use lucky hit aspects. lucky hit is the thing for rogue and is already the meta ( mandatory end game : mangler, bursting venoms, umbrous, poison imbue, cold imbue, energy and heal proc, exposure/victimize etc.).
@@FuzioNda1337 its how it works you should read the tooltips in game when you activite a chance to lucky buff and also just like... play/test to see the result. but as you understand so much you dont even try to use lucky hit at all and tell how its not important, thats so clever...; or not. dont use it if its too complicated for you but you will gimp yourself a lot.
I’ve done a lot of testing with condemnation. The best way to play with it is with tricks of the trade and alternating 1 basic, 1 core. You only proc 3 point combos every 3rd attack on average, and the rest of the time you’re proccing 1 combo point finishers. It removes the need to watch combo points, and rewards you frequently for triggering tricks of the trade. Widens the scope of your damage a bit, but is an effective way to run the item, regardless. However, I think you’re giving it more credit in this video than is due by saying a well rolled legendary is just “competitive” with condemn. It’s not competitive, it’s much better. The stats on condemn are very meh, and if you do the math, it ends up being a net bonus of 12%[x] to your overall damage due to the lack of consistency with which you drop 3 cp finishers. That 12% is dwarfed by the damage bonuses you can get from Vuln+CHD+Close(or your additive damage type of choice)+Dex. Because of how the damage formula works, additive bonuses, vulnerable, and CHD are all multiplicative bonuses, just like the combo point bonus you get from condemn. If anything, I’d say condemn is a pvp weapon, as it provides you with great burst and spikes of damage, but its overall DPS is not as good as two legendaries. The +10% per basic attack legendary aspect is better than this effect in most scenarios.
Also you mention that swords are better than daggers, why do you think this? Both CHD and Close Damage belong to additive buckets that are multiplicative with all other buckets of damage. When you have 300% vuln/chd/additive, there is no difference in the damage bonus between +30% close and +30% CHD-in fact the CHD has a lower value than close because it depends on you critting to take effect, and is therefore lower value than additive or vulnerable, unless you have 100% crit.
I am using Temerity pants kombined with the Conceited Aspect on the Crossbow, receiving 48% dmg increase while barrier active, To proc the barrier more often I also put Aspect of the Crowded Sage on my helm, so it is like up 90% of the time I would say. So I'd say for me this item was worth it.
How does attack speed on Asheara's Khanjar only work on melee builds? I've tried some attack speed builds on barrage and it seems to effect it. Even stuff like dropping traps while stealth seems to be affected by attack sped
Grasp of Shadow is very close to being usable, especially on poison barrage and the imbued shadow clone aspect. I wish it could roll up to +4 skill ranks like other gloves though, and some base lucky hit baked into it would go a long way, as would general improvements to shadow clones; but its on the very edge of being a great build.
I wish grasp had an additional text of like, *clones only mimic core skills... Or something along those lines to where you can line up their damage more reliably without interrupting the pace/flow of combat.
@@punkerguy805you can have multiple clones out at once, they just mimic one attack, it doesn't matter if it procs on basic skills or not it doesn't effect Wether you get a core skill proc
Can we get a salvage guide on maxroll for uniques and legendary aspects like we got for D3, please? ;) I need to kmow what I can salvage savely and what I need to keep or should keep.
Frostburn on a rapid flurry build is super fun. Freezing elites from range before I even jump in or walk around with my ice boots. Speaking of ice boots it’s also really fun to proc frostburn in groups after I jump in to flurry. If they don’t proc frostburn penitent will surely chill them!
Bows should be crit strike damage instead of distant enemies imo.. if Xbow is Vulnerable damage, then yeah.. even damage to close would be better than at range.
@@Powwer69 That's my point lol.. Bows need love. that distant attribute is useless for the most part, at least if you're close you'd have something to work with lmao, aside from that yeah, it doesn't make sense... on purpose..
I really have been liking Temerity. I've heard that Conceited Aspect is bugged and it doesn't even work right now. But I didn't know that it only works with your base life, I've been stacking rubys on my gear to get "double" value from them. Probably going to try to swap them out. I recently found my first pair of Penitent Greaves. Issue for me is that I really like to have 2 Shadow Step charges. And it feels really bad to put Ravager's Aspect on the amulet, cuz the 50% bonus is completely wasted.
Got two question, 1, for twisting blade rogue, do I switch to combo point from inner sight when get condemnation? 2. The ilvl of my condemnation is 656, while my current weapon ilvl is 710, should go for condemnation?
I feel like if bows had crit damage like how swords do rather than the damage to distant ememys, it wouldn't be such a terrible thing to use. For granted, it wouldn't be as good as a cbow still, but if you had a very high rolled bow. I feel like an 800+ bow at that point would be better than sticking with a cbow that's got a good roll at 725-750
I'd be using a bow because of the Weapon Mastery passive if it could roll crit or Vuln...... the crossbow being the only weapon to roll the multiplicative is dumb IMO, literally nothing is better compared to vuln.
Exactly what I'm saying. But I've had really good bows drop with ideal rolls like double crit( crit damage, then imbued crit) vulnerable and dex a couple time but because it has that stupid damage to distant emeys as a fixed roll it just not worth it
Bow feels a lot better to play with due to its attack speed, I change to crossbow only when pushing high NM when I need the damage, try bow on hell tide farm and you will see how much faster it is
Yeah the bow needs a better implicit to compete. The faster attack speed is nice and probably works fine for speed farming but overall the vulnerable on the crossbow is too strong.
Its better than constant useless unique drops that just clutter your stash. You cant even salvage them to change your wardrobe lol, windforce looks so sick 🤦♂️
there is an achievement that we need to kill 10 enemies with all 3 imbuement in 30 sec, so normally its like 30 monster in 30 sec, but i am curious if its doable with Word of Hakan, so 1 rain of arrows to the pack and its done, did anybody try it?
The Penitent Greaves are actually really strong on Rogue. At least so far. Currently using them with a Flurry build. You can use Poison Imbue with Noxius Ice and Bursting Venom aspects, along with the Frigid Finesse, Deadly Venom, and Debilitating Toxins passives for some crazy strong synergy. Flurry already helps keep you alive and spreads vulnerable so it's just a fun and powerful setup.
I can’t believe you think Eyes in the Dark is trash! Maybe you don’t know how to combine it with other gear and aspects yet. My current build uses Eyes in the Dark, and it’s awesome. I use puncture, flurry, poison trap, shadow and poison imbuement, and death trap. I set a death trap while using my other attacks, and death trap functions as basically a damage multiplier and almost always resets at least once, usually multiple times, and sometimes stays up ready for more enemies to wander into it. I sometimes have multiple death traps up at the same time. I once had three death traps going in the same spot at the same time. It’s so much fun!
Eyes in the Dark actually works really well for me I have no idea wut ur talking about on that.. my trap stays for most enemies I face. All I do is activate the trap then I just sit in the middle of the trap and every time it pulls enemies in I just use my twisting blades and it basically demolishes everyone in the trap almost instantly. And it STILL doesn’t go away
Temerity tooltip is bugged, it gives barrier based on your max health, not your base health as it shows. Check how much life your potion restores, and see where it is with the burst heal at the start as a %. It would for me be over 20% full off the potion pop but instead it's like 8%. You can test it too for how much dmg you take too. I use momentum healing aspect and thought I'd love it but DR still better for healing cuz your heals count for more.
the pants with the repeating death trap i wanted to use them there good for elites but its like so spasific use i did notice though you can cheat the trigger by killing everything in the trap before it finishes the reset and it will keep arming and smashing stuff so long as you dont run out of energy to blast the ones that are almost dead it dosent count it as being killed by the trap
So now that they fixed temerity where it works with total life, is it worth it?? I have been testing it out with Twisted Blades/S Strike build but it’s hard to tell, the barrier is really good and it’s actually let’s you use a potion when your not Damged to create the barrier, the problem is my max roll Dmg reduction pants are soooo good normally without having to keep the barrier up before going into a pack that I’m not sure if it’s better or not…. Oh the momentum aspect also procs with temerity a lot too… inside a pack your basically un kill able but if that barrier goes down your in big trouble without all that Dmg reduction you would normally have
Skyhunter doesn't say "The first damage you deal 'with this weapon' ", so I would assume it applies to any direct damage applied on a first hit. Has this been tested?
Yes, works on melee but only the first hit, so on TB only the first stab, and flurry the first spin out of 4, and no shadow step is ass at clearing because cast time and no Aoe. People forgot how bad flicker strike is without melee splash
Hello Wudi! I'm with your twisted guide, has anything changed since you did it? Is the dark clone viable today, or is it better to switch to pentrating from the nightmare dungeons?
So i got SkyHunter bow recently, and i kept some gear i was finding around 800 ilvl that had Energy Cost Reduction, Cool down rate, and of course Crit Damage lots of crit damage like Crit damage with imbue, Crit Damage, I knew when i found this bow i was going to make a low cost penetrating shot build now i currently don't have it at a 0 cost but it is at a 8 cost and i think that is about as low as i can get it to be honest. It does well with Frost imbuement/Shadow imbuement, And with the Ring at 4 when crowd control an enemy you will nearly never have to worry about your energy outside of single target. Warning this is not a build that you can just start the game with in a new season or at least not as of yet so i wouldn't recommend but it is a very fun build.
Sounds interesting, what's the highest NM dungeon you have run with that build? I was using Penetrating Shot for the longest time, but it was too slow and too mana heavy, so I switched to Flurry
@@v888t Well currently level 84 and doing 46, But i am not looking to really push right now. I am still getting my board key stones to 15 and higher, So i am doing things that i can do fast clears in anything less than 6-8min clears is about where i feel is good for me. The build is heavy reliant on certain unique items and aspects to even work properly. But if you want a much more easy time for gear twisting blades or flurry is 100% the better choice. Mostly because they are not so reliant on those certain pieces to have a functional build.
Isnt Windforce powerful due to the damage buckets calculation. If the double damage is on the base, then won't it scale into the other buckets? Temerity can be good if you build it with Conceited Aspect (Deal increased Damage while you have a Barrier active), which can be better as it is supposed to be under the global damage bucket that's usually empty.
You do double damage but when you consider the massive loss of vulnerable and crit you can get from another weapon option, it doesn't really do that much damage. I'm sure there is a build that can utilize it but it would take quite a bit of testing.
@@KH-zo8zm I'm using it, seems to be fairly usable the high damage base helps with adding on to other damage buckets. Knock back is fairly useful in cancelling mob's charge up attacks.
I use Hakkan with barrage and the specialization to reduce ult cooldown. It's really fun. Nothing so far beats the satisfaction of raining down so many arrows, along with barrage and even the arrow storm proc to clear things. And if somehow everything doesn't die or on a boss it's easy to stall with movement skills like dash.
So I run a flurry/cold/poison melee rogue and went to my first helltide. I opened up the heavy weapons box and Skyhunter dropped out. I suppose I could sell it for 300K to a vendor -- also I'm levle 58 only. Is this bow good for anything besides looking good? Right now I can't use it because my flurry aspect is on my crossbow, LOL.
It would be great if Condemnation's passive gave you the 3 combo points proc even if you didn't have the combo points specilization active. Essentially allowing you two have 2 specializations active. That may sound busted, but imho that should be the point of uniques - to make things busted.
I play a pen shot build with Word of Hakan. I rolled like 100% ultimate damage on my gear and this usually clears a screen. Usefull for events or clearing spread out enemies in a room that i cant get with pen shot. CD is long, but that skill is just fun to use
Cowl of the nameless combined with Frostburn on a flurry build with the cc spread aspect on an amulet is the greatest cc build in the game if you ask me. Every enemy on screen is frozen 90% of the time.
The Grasp of Shadow could be very powerful if the triggered clone shares your damage buffs (such as legendary aspects). I thought this is the case and built a pen+rapid fire build with shadow clone, since the gloves give +3 to both core skills.
@@venveng Thanks for trying! Maybe its because your puncture (the basic skill) triggers the clone. When core skill triggeres it, its better. Nevertheless, should be changed to share the damage buffs you receive from items.
I wish they add a sound effect when you reach 3 combo point so you dont have to look down all the time. This would solve the condemnation dagger problem and just make combo gameplay more fluent.
I wish they could just add an Ai to play the game for me so I can put minimum amount of effort possible into playing the game.

Or just have super fast basic skill speed lol
I got a legendary that 50% of the time it creates 3 combo points on hit. It helps so much. Just hit puncture 1 time and usually ready to go.
There should be more uniques and each should be more build-defining, not just a stronger version of a legendary.
I agree. I'd also say they should only let you equip one unique, and make sure they're powerful enough to justify the restriction. That would give us a lot more build diversity, rather than just "use these three uniques". It also means you hopefully won't feel as bad about not having all the uniques for your build, as you build around the ones you find.
@@drakedbz this isnt destiny
@@drakedbz "use this one unique"
D3 felt like it had way more interesting items that are not just "gain 10 to 30 percent more damage when X"
and D3's item system was bad compared to D2, further we fall.
No d3 had equip this item and do 30.000% more damage.. thats so much better 😂
D3 literally took 4 years to be slightly enjoyable too, and at that point it was just trying its hardest to copy PoE
it also works with thorns lol
I was waiting for this video, I got many Uniques that looked really good on paper but I saw none of them mentioned in any guides.
Your dash would slow and then the clones dash would daze. which I think was a pretty cool interaction atleast.
running these rite now and most of the time i don't even notice when the clone comes out tbh
I think the clones might be bugged. It just stands there when it appears.
There's an aspect that gives clones imbuement effects, however I'm not sure if it stacks with those gloves.
Yes the imitate aspect where shadow clone get your imbuement does work, i tested this with barrage even though i casted imbuement before the clone appear. As for the dash, there is already an aspect that guarantee dash will spawn a clone right after to daze enemy do I much prefer that because its more reliable.
Is this better than the aspect that straight drops a smoke bomb after dash?
I use skyhunter for guaranteed melee crit. The aspect applies to any direct damage, not just the bow. Combined with the shadow step aspect, I can just spam shadow step and kill enemy after enemy provided I am one-shotting them. It’s useless on elites, but hella fun on non-elites.
Great vid - would love to see similar breakdowns for offensive / defensive rogue aspects
I was hoping so much for this, I was thinking about asking you this, but than again, maybe you had already, I’m glad you made this! So useful… again
Very helpful. Answered all of my questions about the uniques on rogues.
This was a really helpful breakdown, thank-you. I've come to the same conclusions from my own testing and generally agree with everything you've said here.
It's a shame that Uniques are not really good. They should be rare, like really rare, and have more impact in the builds.
Say that to Druids lol
There are plenty of amazing uniques, you're smoking crack
@@kail_6019 druids just got hotfixed an hour ago.
I disagree. If they’re build defining they need to be common. If they’re icing they can be super rare.
I use the frost unique on my pen shot build with the crowd control spread aspect . Shits amazing
definitely agree about the Grasp of Shadows gloves. it was my first unique in ~10 levels so was a nice upgrade...then i saw what the shadow clone it spawns does and got sad lol. it literally does 1 attack then POOF. gone. so it's just a stat stick till something better drops.
Same I use shadow clone and was super disappointed lol
For word of Hakan you don’t need energy cost reduction or cooldown reduce because you can run 3 imbues, concealment, rain of arrows and rapid fire. You don’t run out of energy because rapid fire refunds itself agains vuln targets. So you’re basically an imbued machine gun nonstop and that comes full of cc.
I find it sad that Uniques can be interesting enough to try and form your entire build around them, but then they aren't strong enough to work, even if you build around them.
True 😢
Very True.
Great vid . Thank you!
Appreciate the breakdown. I thought something was up with shadow grasps and glad you confirmed it
Looks like most unique items are even weaker in their stats than legendaries due to missing core stats like 'Temerity' missing def stats or 'Asheara's Khanjar' missing vulnerable damage (let alone a good legendary sword can roll vul dmg+core dmg+crit dmg all along).
I instead prefer running my normal pants with max life, total armor%, dodge chance% damage red from close which goes a long way in protecting me when I'm surrounded and getting chain cc'ed.. plus you have a choice of defensive aspects to run then
Switching to temerity actually got me killed a couple of times which is when I decided to go back to my normal pants
Maybe temerity will be better against a boss who hits hard but there is less chance of cc..

Hi, can u explan this for me ? Are u putting ur basic and core skill on the same button ? Or what do you mean exactly with this ?
@@robinnowak1238 no, just pressing down both inputs on my controller at the same time. It will use the basic until you have full combo points and then use core. 👍
@@arachny16 thanks ! Very interesting , I will try this. Another question is if I’m playing this legendary weapon , I can see combo points when using basic skill. So theoretically is it just having the Effekt when using the core skill wenn I have builded up the 3 combo points ? Or is the next core skill always with the bonus effect if I had at least 3 combo points ?
I play combo points and I hate having to look down to see if I have full 3 points or not. I would like the indicator to be above my character's head.
I'd rather have consistent dps.
what about the doombringer sword for a shadow damage build?
Doombringer is probably really good for high tier dungeon pushing considering it's the only way you could get significant defensive properties on a weapon. Most likely still good even if you are not a shadow build. %Max life and reducing enemy's damage are both ultra valuable.
The droprate is currently so low that you will never find it. Not even worth talking about.
" I wish the necklace would imbue one of the Marksman core ability and not the useless ultimate."
Hell no, it almost make that ultimate viable.
So for those of us that can't play video games 18 hours a day, where do you suggest we get good items since the games loot system is complete shit?
Also just got the penitent greaves cause I wanted the frosted ground behind me lol, otherwise they're kinda crap, the other legendary boots I use have 3 extra evade charges and legendary aspect of toxic pool on poison imbuement which works all the time
Thanks so much for this video, this helps clear out my stash. Was really hoping for something like this.
Hey Wudi, is it possible to see an updated list of ranking for uniques in season 2? Cheers!
lot of useful information.
Exactly my current build.
@@clementguitard6653 you really should read up on how it works becuse that is not how it works at all.
For any unique that you don't plan on using, is the best option to just salvage the item?
When you have 300% vuln/chd/additive, there is no difference in the damage bonus between +30% close and +30% CHD-in fact the CHD has a lower value than close because it depends on you critting to take effect, and is therefore lower value than additive or vulnerable, unless you have 100% crit.
word of hakan would be nice if the "of arrow storm" affix actually cast rain of arrows...
Does the aspect That proc a rain of arrow is influenced by Rain Of arrow gets all your imbuement?
Funny you mentioned poison trap build and fist of fate, i just did it a few hours ago and it work like a charm !
i love infiltrator aspect its so powerful and fun ! also the clone does the trap so you can go 8 poison trap in one time. repeat with exposure and win
Grasp of Shadow is very close to being usable, especially on poison barrage and the imbued shadow clone aspect. I wish it could roll up to +4 skill ranks like other gloves though, and some base lucky hit baked into it would go a long way, as would general improvements to shadow clones; but its on the very edge of being a great build.
yes pretty sure its a bis item.
I wish grasp had an additional text of like, *clones only mimic core skills... Or something along those lines to where you can line up their damage more reliably without interrupting the pace/flow of combat.

Bows should be crit strike damage instead of distant enemies imo.. if Xbow is Vulnerable damage, then yeah.. even damage to close would be better than at range.
You get crit damage and damage to close on swords and daggers
Getting damage to close on a bow doesn't even make sense
@@Powwer69 That's my point lol.. Bows need love. that distant attribute is useless for the most part, at least if you're close you'd have something to work with lmao, aside from that yeah, it doesn't make sense... on purpose..

I just got windforce and planned a bow build bc of it. Hate knowing it's trash but glad I found out.
And it feels really bad to put Ravager's Aspect on the amulet, cuz the 50% bonus is completely wasted.
what do u think of temerity and new healing aspect momentum
i have infinite barrier

I've been looking for it for a few days now... no luck.. I always see rogues roaming around with it during hell tides
I thought Doomblade was also a rogue weapon , and no crown of the nameless? also a drop for rogues but not shown in the video
Crown of the nameless was mentioned, and doombringer is not worth talking about because the droprate is so low that you will never ever get it.
Do you have a rogue gear list that you actually like? EG for twisting blades etc
I found both a Condemnation and the penitant greaves. Work really good with my penetration shot rogue. :)
Same. You can stack all 3 imbuement effects for fun builds & better kiting
Cab you use combo points for twisting blades?
Does lucky hit chance of Nameless increase the Windforce proc?
I think you're right i've ran these pants a while and they seemed stronger than what he described.
the pants with the repeating death trap i wanted to use them there good for elites but its like so spasific use i did notice though you can cheat the trigger by killing everything in the trap before it finishes the reset and it will keep arming and smashing stuff so long as you dont run out of energy to blast the ones that are almost dead it dosent count it as being killed by the trap
Oh the momentum aspect also procs with temerity a lot too… inside a pack your basically un kill able but if that barrier goes down your in big trouble without all that Dmg reduction you would normally have
We need this video for all classes.
gasp of shadow works well with poison embu build cause the clones can proc your poison void (if u have the legy power buffing the clone)
@wudijo you dont think grasp is good with rapid fire build?
Hello Wudi! I'm with your twisted guide, has anything changed since you did it? Is the dark clone viable today, or is it better to switch to pentrating from the nightmare dungeons?
Doesnt skyhunter work with non-bow skills?
Question, are sets coming to d4 or only in d3?
Does SkyHunter work for melee builds?
So I run a flurry/cold/poison melee rogue and went to my first helltide. I opened up the heavy weapons box and Skyhunter dropped out. I suppose I could sell it for 300K to a vendor -- also I'm levle 58 only. Is this bow good for anything besides looking good? Right now I can't use it because my flurry aspect is on my crossbow, LOL.
My first unique was Eyes in the Dark. RIP 😢
It would be great if Condemnation's passive gave you the 3 combo points proc even if you didn't have the combo points specilization active. Essentially allowing you two have 2 specializations active. That may sound busted, but imho that should be the point of uniques - to make things busted.
Thanks for the awesome and informative content you provide mate.
No mention of doombringer?
Doesn't work. tried it. Shadow just stands their, does one little throw and then disappears.
@@venveng Thanks for trying! Maybe its because your puncture (the basic skill) triggers the clone. When core skill triggeres it, its better. Nevertheless, should be changed to share the damage buffs you receive from items.
My wife plays an Ice Shards Sorc, the Frostburn gloves are incredible synergy when we play together.
How do you lock your items in the inventory?
It’s not by choice, they’re locked cause of the level requirement to use them
Did I miss the placement for the Doombringer?
It's not an item you an actually get. It's so rare that you will never find it.
Word of Hakan paired with the aspect that causes explosions whenever shadow damage affects chilled enemies would probably be sweet
