One of the best and thorough auto DIY I've ever view. I hope you are, if not, consider teaching at an automotive school. Was able to replace my low beam driver side bulb in less than an hour on my 2016 Elantra. Thanks for your help!
I just replaced my headlights using your video... and then I had to replace the HB/DTR lights. So now I'm just going to replace all of the other lights with LEDs as well. Thanks for the great instructional videos!
Just installed mine but my plate doesn't fit to the head as the lamp is to large. Could you send the link to where you got your LED lamp? Also, is it safe to drive with the cap off. I'm using it without the cap off until I get a smaller LED lamp
@rumekpadamrophe912 You definitely want the plastic plate in place to prevent debris from getting inside. I would look for a low profile LED light. The ones I got are low profile and don't contact the plate.
Hi, are H11 LED bulbs only compatible with OEM assemblies or will they fit aftermarket assemblies too? Need to replace them entirely, but wanted to upgrade to LED. This is a great video to help me change them myself.
so am back upgraded the whole car. swapped out the low and high beams. took out the old reverse lights to some bright leds. tinted entire windshield. just ordered some luxes matts. 229 for them witg free shipping. all i need is some black on black leather seats. and found a site that can add cooling and heated seats. which is insane
Hello! I was wondering did you have to purchase a different housing for you headlights to work with LED bulbs? I've learned before that led bulbs aren't always safest in normal housing if it isn't created for it. Thank you!
I think they're factory... they've been on there since I've owned the car. A lot of it has to do with sunlight exposure and UV damage. They make kits to clear the haze off! Thanks for watching!
Yup, you could follow the steps and replace just the bulbs or you could just unplug the assembly and replace the whole thing with these steps and tools. Thanks for watching!
I tried putting it back apparently I have a small gap on the bottom I’ve done it before and it went back and perfectly, but when I changed the lights and decided to put it back but it didn’t go back in fully
Buen video.
Hello, will that Led low bean headlights be the same for Kia Optima ex 2014? Please advise. I wanted to change mine for a long but I want to be make sure the right Led headlights. Thanks
I believe your vehicle takes an H11b bulb. The Forenner bulbs in my video are H11 (H11a). When shopping for bulbs, you should specify H11b, as the plug in portion of the bulb is different. Thanks for watching!
How is the pattern? I’ve read a lot about replacing halogen bulbs with led and it not being recommended because the halogen housing isn’t compatible. The reflectors being different causes the headlights to blind oncoming drivers. Think you’d be able to post a video of you parked on flat ground in front of a wall or something?
I haven't had any issue with them. As you can see, they fit the headlight housing perfectly, and I didn't have to modify it. I haven't had people flashing their brights at me either so I don't think it's blinding other drivers. Make sure you get H11a bulbs for the Elantra and not H11b. The difference is a 90 degree rotation of the two diode patches so H11b bulbs would really not direct the light through reflectors properly. I'll try to get a picture uploaded for ya!
@@andrewandmeatball appreciate it! It’s probably because your years headlights are reflector style and not projector style headlights like my 2016 Elantra GY don’t work as well with LED headlights as HID. I think I gotta get HID lights for my low beams.
@@Seemyhammer I looked at a couple resources online and they all state that LED bulbs are compatible with projector headlights. Some resources even state "they are a better alternative to HID and halogen bulbs". I have never tried this personally though so I cannot say for certain.
The fog light bulb size for this generation of Elantra is a 881 (I would recommend LED). H11a is the low beam size for sure and my headlights are still going strong months later. Thanks for watching!
@@andrewandmeatball My mistake, I thought the name change was the only difference with this model between the markets, but apparently that's not the case. Seems to be H7 where I live. Thanks for the video!

Speaking from experience, the LEDs that I installed in this video almost a year ago are still going strong without issue. They also level off (if you're not using your brights) to avoid shining too high and blinding oncoming traffic. Thanks for watching!
These Elantra headlights distribute the light throughout the headlight so as not to dazzle. Older cars do get stuck because their headlights are not designed for that function and the light comes directly out.

I don't see a link to follow your videos. But this is the easiest clearest information I found on TH-cam of how to replace a blown headlight

Really an excellent video, very well done and very well explained, thank you very much!
Ok can i use them for my 2017 Hyundai Elantra se and how long do they last

Will this work on a 2016 SE? I’ve heard that I’ll need a load equalizer since factory came with halogen
@NoodLe-cf1wo I believe it depends on the LED bulbs that you get. The bulbs I used come with that tech built in to prevent flickering.
