    YIPEEEEE!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!! USPS just delivered 6 pair of Nike crews to me (for me to “pizazz up” for both of my two daughters’ birthdays👍😜…. and I just watched you tie up first pair (WONDERFUL INSTRUCTION, btw❗️❗️❗️👌👌😍) and so ive got you paused & have a quick ques…
    you said you soaked and spun…. So my ques is, how do YOU👈 “spin them out”❓… like maybe with your dryer or do you do it by hand? jc😜(& THHHHHANNNNNNNKKKK YOUUUUUUUU SOOOOOO MUCHHHHH, btw👍👍👍😃)❤️

    • @MrTieDye
      @MrTieDye  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds awesome... I hope you have fun and success with your socks ... as for 'spinning out' .... I use my washer's Spin Cycle to 'Spin' out the excess soda ash... I squeeze most out by hand, then I put the tees, socks, dresses, tapestries or whatever I soaked into the washer basin and then set it to spin... this gets most of the liquid out of the tees and leaves them barely damp which is my preferred method of folding and dyeing the tees and things ... BUT, one thing to be aware of, some washers will spray water at the start of the Spin Cycle, this can dilute your soda ash ... so test your washer before 'Spinning' things out, or set the cycle to halfway and then spin out (the way you can test easily is to toss a dry tee in, turn on spin cycle for a couple seconds, then check the tee, if it is wet, then toss in anohter dry tee, set the cycle to halfway, then try again... if tee is dry, then you can use the Spin Cycle to 'Spin' out the excess soda ash ✌🏻💚🙏

    Do the socks have to be pre-soaked for you tie-dye them

    • @MrTieDye
      @MrTieDye  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you are using Procion Dyes, they will need soda ash added sometime before you batch them ... you can pre soak and then tie, or you can tie and then soak.... or you can tie, dye and then squirt them with soda ash (this method works, but they will need to be able to drip some after you apply the soda ash .... the soda sh is what activates the dyes ... her is a video where I show this process on tee shirts : th-cam.com/video/rkmAQxOu52A/w-d-xo.html
      BUT, if you are using a One-Step kit... then you can just pre wash your socks and then tie and dye them as the soda ash is mixed in with the dyes... but I would tie all of the socks up before you mix the dyes as the dyes are active as soon as you add water to the one step kits .... BUT, I have heard from others that they get better colors if they still do a pre soak with One Step Kits
      I hope this info helps

      Procion Dyes work on natural fibers ... so if the other 20% is cotton, then yes they will take a little bit of dye/color ....but I have not looked into dyes for other types of fabric as the processes are also different
