  • Hello Friends,
Today I show you how to do a very cool thing, we're going to convert a Nikon D800 to full spectrum (works also for D810). So we can do Ultraviolet, visible, and infrared photography, all with the same camera.

Good job ! I'm curious : Is minimum focus distance a bit further away because of quartz "increased" thickness ?

Hello, yes, but only a tenth of a millimeter at best as it goes about 1/3 of the thickness. Best.

You know, is something you can learn and practice. I'd recommend starting with a cheap camera and lenses obviously. In any case, you can always ask for advice. It is the whole goal of this channel. Best

Hum… interesting job but honnestly I would prefer to play with a d70 (Îknow you already did a tuto on it) than these high end cameras. Better to keep their sensors untouched :). But it s interesting how to dismount part of them is needed :).

Hi, I agree with you, when you fail a d70, it's annoying but not a big deal (I broke one once), when you fail a high-end camera, you've lost a few hundreds of dollars. So great patience and care are the commands for such a job. On the other hand, I've seen D600s and D800s (heavily used) hitting the 200 dollars bar, so, for some, maybe worth the risk providing that "professional" conversions are around 1000 dollars for high-end cameras. I did a D600 for myself, and this D800 I did for a guy in France.
