    Thanks for this video. I’m 6 months in post-op and your vid was just what I was searching for! Totally can relate to that “small” win going down the stairs! Wondering if you experienced any stiffness at 6-7 month mark. I’m going back to my doc to assess arthritis and scar tissue. Wondering if u experienced that. Stay well. Thanks again!

      Thanks for the comment! To answer your question, yes: I did have stiffness. In fact, I think I'm only now getting full extension in that knee (where "full" for me is a few degrees past straight, since my knees naturally hyperextend a bit). I stopped tracking it after a while and just kept moving around and working it as opportunities allowed. It was one of those "one day you just notice that things are better" phenomena.
      I never went back to the doctor to deal with scar tissue or anything; I just kept moving around a lot, pushing where I could without being stupid, and understanding that time was my friend (as long as I kept working on strengthening things, regaining sensation, etc.) I hope that's at least somewhat helpful for you.
      I appreciate the well wishes, too. While I've made a lot of progress, I still see tons more distance to go before I can say that I'm "back to normal." I'm actually WAY overdue for an update, as I recorded stuff for a 9-month mark "return to sport" milestone and then let life get in the way. Seeing as I'm on the cusp of 1 year now, I'll likely combine the two into a larger video or something (or maybe I"ll just release two normal videos back to back so the dates will confuse people). We'll see.

    Tore my right ACL, going to do surgery soon. I'm a Karateka so I'm going to have to rehab myself to kick again. Cool videos, how's your kicking now?

      Hey, thanks for commenting. Hope your surgery goes well and your recovery goes well. Thank you for the kind words as well.
      I am likely going to do another video soon (since ~9 months is when the return to sport process tends to begin with my rehab team, and I'm going back in a week for that follow-up). I'll be showing how I'm doing then.
      The kicks are doing pretty well. In the last month or so, I've gotten a lot of "snap" back into my movements and have regained a decent bit of confidence with turning, jumping, squatting, etc. I still have lots of work to do, but I have enough function now that there is a lot that I can practice -- even if it is a bit slower. I even did a couple of live sessions on social media where I was teaching some basic TKD and related stuff. I'll likely do more soon.
      So stay tuned, but I am doing better now than I was in this video for sure. Looking forward to sharing with people :)

    It's been a while since you made a video. How's it going now?

      It's, true -- I've not posted an update in a long time. I'm planning to put up a new update soon.
      I'm doing well as far as the knee goes. I'm still rebuilding strength on that side, but I've not had any complications. I'm now a year post-surgery, but there's more time left before I'm "fully" recovered.

      @@JudoGeoff that's good. I'm 6 months in, one of my biggest problems is my knee cracks alot. Did you have that problem too at 6 months?

      @JudoGeoff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yzzzzzzz7z you know, you aren't the first to ask me about that! I had some noise and at a year since the surgery, I still have it on occasion. It's normal as long as it isn't really painful from what I understand. Always check with your care provider if you have concerns, but this sounds like a normal thing to me.

      If I am understanding your question, I would say that you need to see your doctor and get formally evaluated. I can't give you medical advice, unfortunately.

      Not quite. I still have some difference, but my (WAY overdue) 9 month video should show some improvement. I'm hoping they'll be basically even by the 1-year mark.
