My first truck was a Ford F-150 4x4 bought new in 77 (it was a 76 model), paid $4500 for it. It came with an FE block 360. Two years later I found a 428 CJ that came out of a mustang that a high school friend of mine wrecked. Paid $385 for the motor complete with shaker hood scoop. Installed it in the F-150 (not the shaker hood). What a fun truck. Got married and traded it for a Mustang II Cobra. I regret that to this day. Everyone loved that truck. We would cruise Sonic with three in the cab and half a dozen in the back. (headers with cherry bombs turned out in front of the wheels made a hellacious racket)
Amazing story, I can relate to the first part of you're story. Got a 74 f100 360, but found a 428 (non cobra jet heads), headers, bigger carb and R code servo makes it a fun truck! Take care. -Winston
@@f100storys8 I hear ya. My brother and I still talk about that truck. It was so much fun. I ask my self why I got rid of it? I got married and needed another car? That was the case but I was making enough money at the time to buy a new car.. I can't understand exactly why I traded it. Wish I still had it. Do you still have yours?
@@jackflash6377 Perhaps at the time it made sense.... for what that's worth... Well, history repeats itself. I have the truck for 3 years now. Bought it at 18 years of age. Just like you it got a 428 after 2 years of ownership. I plan on keeping it forever.
Congratulations you have a beautiful car! Back in the later 70's,I bought a '67 Fairlane 2 door post, factory 427 dual 4's,4 speed. It had the optional fiberglass scoop hood, traction bars that went all the way to the front seats. I'm not sure if this was a factory setup, or an owner add on. It had a 5.67 posi. I ended up parting everything out. Sure wish I had kept it. Best of luck in all of your future endeavors!
This car is exactly what I would want. I have a 65 fairlane no post sports coupe with a 289. Barely runs and drives but I do keep it registered and insured. Needs a ton of work. Some suspension work, brake work, engine work. Mostly minor stuff. I've had it for 5 years and I do enough just to keep it running. I wish I could dig right in and do everything that needs to get done. I bet I can bang most of it out in a weekend.
Awesome car and owner, thank you! I loved the red & black 1967 Galaxie too! My mother had a red one with a white top BITD. I had a silver1967 Galaxie 500XL in high school. I wish I could find it and buy it back now if it still exists.
Mario Andretti won the Daytona 500 in a 67 Fairlane. He wore tan slacks, hush puppie shoes a light wind breaker jacket and crash helmet. He ran speeds better than today. It was the only Nascar race he ever drove i.
In 76 I had a Black 66 or 67 Fairlane GT 390 with an auto, console & bucket seats that was a very fun car but back then you could pick them up in real good cond for under $500, I think mine might have been a 66 it did have the 427 hood but not the engine lol
Although the 428 came out in 66'. Was it really installed in Fairlane 500's in 67'. I know 427's were. I know it was possible to pick from either a 427 or 428 in the 7 Litre Galaxy or Galaxy 500 in 66'. Supposedly 427 was available, probably "Q" Code in the 68 Fairlane, but Ford said they didn't build one.
Please drive that car to the Fruitville Rd exit and I will meet you with a paper bag of cash, and Shaun I will give you first right of refusal!!! Love That Car!!!
Engine series block named Ford Edsel, big blocks that start at 360 cubes to 427. I believe they all share the same block. I think if you swap a crank you can get a 360 to a 390. I also believe these are the same blocks that were termed side oiler and top oiler.
It's always great to see Ford guys

I disagree with one thing, “nothing special”… this thing certainly is special!

Evan-- Thanks for the ride and the update on the LeBlancs…Red was great racer back in the day..
Looks like a 2 door version of Joe Friday and Frank Gannon's '67 Fairlane sedan in Dragnet...
" Just the Facts M'amm" 😊
I love everything on this car.
love the fairlane...and really like the red 67 galaxie with black top..
Awesome 👌. I had a 67 but wasn't a post. It was a 390 stick. I wish I could go back 😪
That is A beautiful car. It sounds so good. Thanks for sharing this with us
Very nice car
Vary Nice Car !!! You can’t mention Naples Florida without saying the home of swamp buggy racing ….💪💪
I used to watch that on TV.
Awesome Ford!
It is a very mild motor but I like the sleeper/stocker look and two door posts are great. Looks like the Dragnet Detectives car!
All around nice car and a bonus .... no junkolet bullshit
I agree. Throw that chevy trash somewhere else!
Merry Christmas guys and dolls!

EVAN, I remember Bob Sharp's cool as, A/Stock 427 in '87@Texas Motorplex. Told me he'd never been beat by an Auto. !!

Congrats on 30k subs! Awesome street car
Wonder why Ford FE engines have that particular sound? My first car had one.
My 428cj was a far cry from the nearly stock CJ in his.
Awesome
What size wheels and tires front and rear! Very cool car . I also have a 2dr post. would like mine to have this same look! Thanks!

Nice great year to
How much do they sell for in the USA?

Please drive that car to the Fruitville Rd exit and I will meet you with a paper bag of cash, and Shaun I will give you first right of refusal!!! Love That Car!!!
# 23👍🏻!! 💪🏻
What is this thing you call "FE"? Isn't that something from Toyota?
It's a numbers thing ..........I see 4.05 x 3.78 .......or ......4.05 x 3.98 ........you have to have it in your D N A ??????

Im not to sure 427 was an FE block series
Yep. I searched eBay under Toyota FE and got back 54,000 auctions. AND I found a vid of a Toyota with an FE. th-cam.com/video/0v9E1PB6iOQ/w-d-xo.html
