Naka is not a jerk, he's competitive. He spoke to me once at the world open and was very polite which is more than I can say for other GM's I've tried conversing with who act like they shit ice cream.
The best part is when Nepomniachtchi doesn't move his king repetitively at the end forcing Nakamura to agree to a draw instead of getting one by repetition.
Naka a bit of an arrogant fellow... Nepo is a 2700 GM its not like he is going to magically turn a theoretical draw into a win against another strong GM.
The handshakes at the end of the chess games are usually fake as hell, but here and also in several other games what Nakamura did is just plain rude. He acts like he couldn't beat a beginner rather than another GM.
Will you guys stop whining. Naka has a fighting spirit. If he wants to decline a draw offer and play on that is his right. Personally, I think he adds some color to the game. Good for spectators, which means ultimately good for growing the games popularity..
if and when Naka becomes world chess champion for almost two decades, and contributes half as much to the world of chess as kasparov has, then he can shake and fidget all he wants
Just to answer the question of Who is Nepom: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Nepomniachtchi He is one of the most talented players. I honestly don't think Naka is clearly better than any of the elite players, including Nepom. Naka is very unreliable player, and in my opinion his behavior as chess player is immature... My opinion. Carlsen is just another category..
There are many GM which have everything that you may find ideal to become a world champion and never were. Just remember, he already beat the actual world champion a couple of times now and maybe one day in the future you'll regret saying that.
Es divertido cómo Nakamura comienza la partida haciéndole al mamón y después termina frustrado por no poder conseguir más que unas tablas hahahahaha xD
This why Nakamura sometimes has trouble climbing the chess mountain to the top -- i.e., his immaturity and lack of professionalism causes him to lose focus. I personally like passionate chess players, but he's got to learn how to better rein in his emotions....
What would naka say about this comment jajaj just horrible, horrible.....learn??...he is on the peak of the mountain man, playing with few that can only get there,,,, what you talking about dude?...any top 10 is a monster...any top ten of any sport can call themselves the best of the best....haven't you thought, that the reason he is a top 10 is because he acts like that and has that personality?......not how you think he should act.....honestly what do you know....do you know him personally???...i mean wtf?
If he is on the peak of the mountain as you claim, then he should be THE best. Problem is that he's not. To reiterate, I admire his passion, but it's clearly a double-edged sword for him as he sometimes lets it get the best of him in crucial moments.
+hmrhuang Gotem, what hmrhuang is trying to say is, "With Nakas personality, hes THAT good, imagine how much BETTER he'd be if he controlled himself under certain circumstances". And to say well "its his personality" is to say he can further progress and and has reached his own personal peak of the mountain
I don't think it's rude. He is simply mad because he didn't accomplish the result he felt capable of. Doing faces is part of the game, and Ian was swiveling his head as to say "can't beat me stupid" and does the same with other players.
If I were Naka's opponent, I would never ask or agree to draw. He wants to play with two lone kings, so be it. He can take it his insincere handshake and shove it up his behind.
"The handshakes at the end of the chess games are usually fake as hell, but here ... what Nakamura did is just plain rude. He acts like he couldn't beat a beginner rather than another GM." I don't think so. He is annoyed with himself because he failed to materialize a winning advantage in the middle game.
Nakamura's playing white, so if they exchanged queens, Nepomniachtchi would actually get his promotion first. Also, Nakamura can't really force the exchange as long as Nepomniachtchi can dance his queen and king around.
@renumeratedfrog Actually I believe that's Dmitry Andreikin playing against Lagrave although it's a honest mistake as they look alike and they were both wearing a similar white shirt. As a matter of fact, Savchenko must be the guy just behind Nepomniachtchi.
@craik62 true. but he cant move his rook as hes on check on that move he has to save the king. by the time he finally moves his rook naka makes space for an escape.
It was obvious draw, and even Nepomniachtchi's position is more preferable. Probably the reason of Nakamura's play continuation is his standings in the tournament, and after the draw maybe he lost any chance to win, but I am not sure.
yes, white had the rook and a mating attack, but Nakamura squandered it for some inexplicable reason. I don't know what the hell he was doing, he should have just taken the dam rook and won! He's just a strange player. Gotta love their reactions though. From their flippant expressions it looks like their playing casually in a park or something. ha.
Don't disparage Nakamura, until well into the middle of the game he was clearly better and he made a blunder. That got to him and that is why he played like that later and refused the draw.He is human after all ,he is not a saint. And chess is a game of brilliant and quite selfish people.Naka in relation with other super GMs is a polite and well behaved man.
Nepom's facial expressions are priceless.
Boy, was Ian having fun.
9:46 "draw?" "no way!"
10:48 "draw??" XD
@Kohen Gael I know Hikaru literally doesn't care
9:45 That smile from Nepo lol
"You don't want a draw? We'll see about that!"
10:49 “See? I told you it’s a draw!”
@@Th0ughtf0rce Candidates 2022 , Rnd 12 says hi 😆
9:46 Nepo: "ok mudda fuccka, I'll prove it's a draw" lol
Naka is not a jerk, he's competitive. He spoke to me once at the world open and was very polite which is more than I can say for other GM's I've tried conversing with who act like they shit ice cream.
The smirk at 9:48 after saying "draw?" and his facial reactions thereafter was the best part!
They look so young, yet very brilliant in chess
En realidad para el juego de ajedrez ya no son tan jóvenes ya que empiezan a entrenar desde los 5 años ....
Young Nepo's facial expressions are so cute haha
The best part is when Nepomniachtchi doesn't move his king repetitively at the end forcing Nakamura to agree to a draw instead of getting one by repetition.
Nepo, the evariste gallois of chess. Goddam, I love this player !
:D So well said!! Also love him
If Nepo is Galois then who in chess is Ramanujan ?
its fun watching the faces of these two in this one lol
ikr
9:47 Nakamura is like: no way Nepo. My position is + 0,2 :D
I love the last 30 seconds of these types of games
Nepo was really enjoying himself! Less than what could be said for nakamura
Love the look on Nepo's face, when he's waiting for Naka to admit it's a draw.
Enjoyable game. Loved every moments.
Shaking head, smiling, wtf, yes? no!,...Chess is easy. Haha.
Young Nepomniachi is so entertaining
Love when these two players play man most entertaining two grandmasters going at it
I see Nepo has packed on a pound or two in the last 13 years...
chess really was fun and interesting back then and its only 12 years ago :(
Fischer used to play 6 h3 against the Najdorf chalking up many wins including a very interesting one against Reshevsky.
thank you for your contribution, i will treat it according to its value and origin
Grande Nakamura... Tu espíritu combativo enaltece al Ajedrez
You know the video is going to be epic when they can't even fit the title screen into the frame lol
Will you guys stop whining. Naka has a fighting spirit. If he wants to decline a draw offer and play on that is his right. Personally, I think he adds some color to the game. Good for spectators, which means ultimately good for growing the games popularity..
I love Nepo's smile at 9:46
They both follow the Kasparov school of making faces.
😂😂
Nakamura is among top 10 players in the world. He can do whatever the hell he wants
if and when Naka becomes world chess champion for almost two decades, and contributes half as much to the world of chess as kasparov has, then he can shake and fidget all he wants
Kick ass match. Naka did not want to take the draw, which is typical of him I hear. But it seemed inevitable.
According to Stockfish, cxd6 after Bxd5 is actually forced mate in 27, but Naka didn't keep his cool sadly.
At 6:46
1. ... Bxd5 2. cxd6!! Bxe4 3. d7
Black is utterly lost.
2. Bh5 would have won too and even Naka's 2. Re2 wins but he choked.
Nepomniachtchi is not a name. It's the sound of a sneeze.
Can't expect Naka to just agree to a draw. Nepo might be trying to get him to abandon a won position.
Who is having the old videos marathon during quarantine?
Just to answer the question of Who is Nepom: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Nepomniachtchi
He is one of the most talented players. I honestly don't think Naka is clearly better than any of the elite players, including Nepom. Naka is very unreliable player, and in my opinion his behavior as chess player is immature... My opinion.
Carlsen is just another category..
Nakamura such an BAD ASS, anand best style a gentleman !!
There are many GM which have everything that you may find ideal to become a world champion and never were. Just remember, he already beat the actual world champion a couple of times now and maybe one day in the future you'll regret saying that.
So tell us what Nakamura expected on that situation. He as a grandmaster must feel a continuation and have a plan to the position, but he doesn't.
Couldn't agree more.
I just came (again) to see 9:48 xD hahahhaa
nepo is a very competitive player, doesn't take chess lightly. he's probably one of my favorite players - play serious, focus on game
Nepomniachtchi
good playr blitz
Es divertido cómo Nakamura comienza la partida haciéndole al mamón y después termina frustrado por no poder conseguir más que unas tablas hahahahaha xD

+hmrhuang Number 1 player in the country, top 5 in the world; close enough?
autumn_leaves But still not World Champion right?...
+hmrhuang Gotem, what hmrhuang is trying to say is, "With Nakas personality, hes THAT good, imagine how much BETTER he'd be if he controlled himself under certain circumstances". And to say well "its his personality" is to say he can further progress and and has reached his own personal peak of the mountain
having psychological battles between them!
From 0:21, to 0:37 look at Nepomniachtchi's face. He is secretly trying to find out what Nakamura is doing looking away from the board.
nakamura has bushido soul...fight till death...
Naka is official number 5 in the world at classical. probably top three in blitz and a god in lightning, none of you oafs have any thing on him,
Mepo likes the draws, with Magnus said draw too.
I think he is very funny >
@9:45 Naka wants Nepomniachtchi to resign
it's so awesome!
Back to the day when Lan was looking good and handsome
Isacc Newton His name is Ian, with an " i " :P
I don't think it's rude. He is simply mad because he didn't accomplish the result he felt capable of. Doing faces is part of the game, and Ian was swiveling his head as to say "can't beat me stupid" and does the same with other players.
If I were Naka's opponent, I would never ask or agree to draw. He wants to play with two lone kings, so be it. He can take it his insincere handshake and shove it up his behind.
@dufflepuds Naka did not touch the rook with the intention of playing, he wanted only accommodating the piece
Splendid : Play Chess Nakamura, Carlsen,Ian Nepomniachctchi,Kraminik, etc Good Luck
Nepo THE BEST iññññorrrrrrrr
He's calculating moves. When he's looking elsewhere, he's contemplating your demise ;-)
Even though position nepo better than nakamura but nakamura want nepo offer first for a draw
By the way, for those who are claiming Nakamura's arrogance, what exactly did he do that was arrogant?
hikaru head-shake nakamura :D
"The handshakes at the end of the chess games are usually fake as hell, but here ... what Nakamura did is just plain rude. He acts like he couldn't beat a beginner rather than another GM."
I don't think so. He is annoyed with himself because he failed to materialize a winning advantage in the middle game.
ian should have kept playing until naka offers the draw as if to say "show me the win" xD that would have tasted sooooo good mmmm
They should try to move the pieces by the force of arrogance itself. There's so much of it packed in these guys it could work.
Ian one of the strongest players
Since 10:10 the expression of shame and sadness on Nakamura's face, he does not even look at the board.
That's what he gets for trying to show off playing so fast. Really childish. He had plenty of time to give some thought to his moves.
Nakamura's playing white, so if they exchanged queens, Nepomniachtchi would actually get his promotion first. Also, Nakamura can't really force the exchange as long as Nepomniachtchi can dance his queen and king around.

@valg321 He's expressing anger at himself, not his opponent. That's not to say it's not disttacting
@renumeratedfrog Actually I believe that's Dmitry Andreikin playing against Lagrave although it's a honest mistake as they look alike and they were both wearing a similar white shirt. As a matter of fact, Savchenko must be the guy just behind Nepomniachtchi.
Wow, you could actually hear the gears grinding in their heads,, or are they playing in a construction zone?
i love Nepomniachtchi face
Это не футбол, здесь не кричат - давай, давай!))
@6:40 the best move (Naka) would be Be6! What do you think?
Nakamura is very cocky,i think that´s very clear and he always is playing like some sort of world champion(in his mind he thinks he is).
I think Nepomniachtchi is some arrongant but nobody cant denied his talent
+Martin Pereira no, he's not
+Юрий Гомон and why he do thats faces all the time.!?
+Martin Pereira you're seeing things, he's not making any faces
+TheOtherSaluton okey may be is just his ways
+Up Whats I totally agree with you!
@craik62 true. but he cant move his rook as hes on check on that move he has to save the king. by the time he finally moves his rook naka makes space for an escape.

nakamura not even looking at his opponent lol. the disrespect is strong in this one
yes, white had the rook and a mating attack, but Nakamura squandered it for some inexplicable reason. I don't know what the hell he was doing, he should have just taken the dam rook and won!
He's just a strange player.
Gotta love their reactions though. From their flippant expressions it looks like their playing casually in a park or something. ha.
Gran maestros fanfarrones.
nakamura es la prepotencia en persona .
actually he is number 13. at the moment.
Nepmniachtchi acted like that because its clearly a draw, hes like ''wtf dude, stop playing lol''
naka had an advantage just to get a bad move by giving a pawn on the center
Don't disparage Nakamura, until well into the middle of the game he was clearly better and he made a blunder. That got to him and that is why he played like that later and refused the draw.He is human after all ,he is not a saint. And chess is a game of brilliant and quite selfish people.Naka in relation with other super GMs is a polite and well behaved man.
They're doing construction during the world blitz tournament??
6:40
Why didnt naka play Be6? Doesnt he win a rook? Because when black takes the bishop Naka takes the rook with the queen?
Bxe6 - Bxe6
Qxe5 - dxe5
but
Bxe6 - Bxe6
Rxe5 - dxe5
Qxe5+ - Kf7
dxe6
Yes, Hikaru could simply win here
9:45 Nepom: Still want to keep this up?
Nepo******* sounds like a icecream, yum
9:46 Nepomniachtchi troll face, haha he doesn t know that he can t win this game (:
Kasparov was not such a gentlemen at the board, himself.
@Zachary Bence idk why the other dude laughed, as if naka was a fool for not taking the draw, as if he has 0 chance of winning
I see Naka's actions from a psychological view. By him acting like this, he hopes to get his opponent over-confident.
spare me the Kasparov haters who compare every single bad thing in chess with him
Who is more arrogant? He who plays on, or the one who laughs at the player who wants to continue?
good point,,,
@SnowOwlOfficial Making a move gives +2 sec
