There was no reason for calling the authorities. If the manager just asked Lamont to leave, if he didn't or behaving in a manner to justify, we would understand. She was just asserting her power as a wanna be manager. This situation could have been a tragic outcome over a misunderstanding. She escalated the situation, she didn't give Lamont a chance to leave! The call she made misrepresented the situation putting people on edge.😥 So Glad! Lamont came out okay ! Numerous people have been killed in similar cases of somebody stretching the truth!

I am not a lawyer I was a business owner for 40+ years. They must post a sign where you/all can see it as you enter the store telling everyone you cannot do the following NO Video taping allowed, on refunds ect. and any other store store policies they may have in several places in the store. Other wise they cannot detain you until they post signs around the store. As far as that employee she needs to tell you that she is a manager in the front of the store and not a shipping person that is a team leader of a small group of warehouse employee's. She was trying to intimidate you without first identifying herself as to her name and her job position so you know up front who you are dealing with. Clearly this Walmart store did not do things by the book! Just my 2 cents.

There was no reason for calling the authorities. If the manager just asked Lamont to leave, if he didn't or behaving in a manner to justify, we would understand. She was just asserting her power as a wanna be manager. This situation could have been a tragic outcome over a misunderstanding. She escalated the situation, she didn't give Lamont a chance to leave! The call she made misrepresented the situation putting people on edge.😥 So Glad! Lamont came out okay ! Numerous people have been killed in similar cases of somebody stretching the truth!

It’s also a situation of them being manipulated without realizing it. How so?

This situation could have resulted into a serious advent and could have gone really bad if everyone hadn't kept their cool. I hope you finish the story you were trying to tell. By the way you gave those kids some good advice. The kids really liked you. I hope they took your advice to stay away from drugs.

I am not a lawyer I was a business owner for 40+ years. They must post a sign where you/all can see it as you enter the store telling everyone you cannot do the following NO Video taping allowed, on refunds ect. and any other store store policies they may have in several places in the store. Other wise they cannot detain you until they post signs around the store.
As far as that employee she needs to tell you that she is a manager in the front of the store and not a shipping person that is a team leader of a small group of warehouse employee's. She was trying to intimidate you without first identifying herself as to her name and her job position so you know up front who you are dealing with. Clearly this Walmart store did not do things by the book!
