Yes! My daily pick me up. Hope you're both well. There's loads more from these two. Like Mark Flower above(or below) says, "An idiot abroad", is hilarious. ✌
Before you react to An Idiot Abroad you should first react to The Ricky Gervais Show, an animated podcast starring Ricky, Karl and Stephen Merchant as that came before Idiot Abroad, trust me you will be in pain with laughter watching the Ricky Gervais Show
Before you react to An Idiot Abroad you should first react to The Ricky Gervais Show, an animated podcast starring Ricky, Karl and Stephen Merchant as that came before Idiot Abroad, trust me you will be in pain with laughter watching the Ricky Gervais Show
You should react to "An Idiot Abroad " where Ricky and Steve send Karl to different countries to experience the culture. Karl's observations on life are hilarious. He's a very reluctant celebrity.
Unfortunately I asked this on a previous video. They don't get time for the longer episodes at the minute, but hopefully will in the future. They will definitely love idiot abroad though
_An Idiot Abroad_ is an absolute must for you. It's become an all time favourite for the reactors that have watched it. Hour long journeys into exotic cultures but with Karl constantly moaning and not understanding anything. One of the greatest shows ever commissioned.
I absolutely adore Karl and am so glad to see that you've discovered this absolute gem. Jess hit the nail on the head when she said that Karl made a valid point - Karl hasn't got a malicious bone in his body, and whilst his observations can come across as simple or, at times, uninformed, he very often makes simple and beautiful observations. This is made all the more wonderful when you realise that Karl is one hundred percent genuine and not an act - he is unashamedly himself. He's a national treasure, must be protected at all costs, and I can't wait to watch more of your reacting to Karl! 🥰
Its important to know the back story of Karl before you delve into it, hope this helps - They met on a radio show, Karl was the producer and Ricky realised how 'quirky' he was then invited him into the studio to get his take on current events and news etc, they then hosted a radio show with him being the main attraction. - This radio show then turned into an animated series. - Ricky saw the potential in showcasing Karl to the world via a tv programme. - Enter, An Idiot Abroad. but i think its important to be aware that this isnt a character, hes just a very sheltered (in his own community, didnt really acknowledge the world outside of his local town), very set in his ways, and almost child like mind, his blatant answers that arent conventional, with no hesitation or remorse. He says the offensive remarks without meaning offence, he just doesn't know any better.
Karl definitely plays up his natural persona though at times and he is not naive enough to not really know how what he is saying will be received and perceived by others.
@@seanscanlon9067 thats nowadays, at the beginning he was just pure radio discjockey personality with quirky "old man down the pub" eccentricities thrown in.
I live in the UK and thank you for your posts. I share them with other homeless people on the street it helps to have a laugh even when when life can hard. Thanks again.
You've got to watch The Ricky Gervais Show. It's Karl, Ricky and Stephen Merchant and it's absolutely hilarious. (I personally preferred just the podcast as they edited stuff out to make the animated show but it's really hard to find and not really something you can react to on TH-cam)
This is my favourite observation of old people, my Brother went to make our Grampa a cup of tea(he was in his 80s at the time), my Brother asked "How do you take your tea Gramps?" To which he replied, "I don't know, ask your Nan" 😂 to me that was awesome that my Nan has been making him tea for over 60yrs and he has a) Never made his own tea & b) didn't know how he liked it. He moved up to legend status in my estimation from that day on. 😂😂
Hi guys , you would absolutely love The Ricky Gervais Show - Karl Pilkington's Diary [Part 1]. This is available on TH-cam. It is absolutely hilarious and will have you in stitches. Keep up the great work.
Hey guys, just another vote here for you to do 'the Ricky Gervais Show' before you do idiot abroad. It's a 30 minute show shorter than 'idiot' and most of it was filmed prior to idiot abroad so would probably make sense as a time line to experience Karl. Really enjoyed your two Karl videos and subscribed after your first one, so thanks so much for reacting to these so far. I love both of your interactions and discussions in this one, can't wait to see more Karl on the channel. Jess laughing at Karl lights up the whole room 😊 cheers from the UK 🇬🇧
Karl is so literal, everything is an absolute with him. You guys have to check out The Ricky Gervias Show & An Idiot Abroad, Karl is awesome in both. You won't regret it. 😂😂😂
..this is the video with less quality of him..good you watched ! In wikipedia says he is an actor, because much later years, Ricky put him as an "extra actor", and also in a thing after he made british "The Office".. Karl is this..making great points..mixed sometimes with ridiculousness... My favourite thing to rewatch ! ..Steven Merchand, is a almost 7ft tall guy that shares podcast ("The Ricky Gervais Show"), that was a radio show (XFM), and basicly started the podcasting trend.. ..you wait until "The Ricky Gervais Show", animated with great cartooning, where we "see" his thoughts converted to animation.. and yes, "An Idiot Abroad" is fantastic as well ! ....This was one of first things recorded with Karl "Meet Karl Pilkington 2" quality is much better.. The thing is Karl believes in everything that was in the internet..but, sometimes it was true, and Ricky didn't believed it.. Ricky was always perfect to extract things from Karl.. The channel is a fan.. Karl was the tech guy from the Radio station, and thank God, Ricky put him behind a Mic first, and later on, in front of a camera....by the way, if beheaded, the body colapses imediatly, but there are disputes about brain..there was a experience where the guy said he would keep blinking eyes, and someone counted..
Karl is an absolute visionary, but you only see it once you stop seeing the stupid. He states the obvious that everyone else has forgotten. It's amazing
Karls trip to China really challenged him on so many levels. You should watch it as it explains his outtake on life and why he keeps mentioning the Chinese.
Karl was Ricky's producer on a radio show and he and Steve Merchant found out that he was hilarious and the audience loved it and he became a big part of its success. He's 100% just Karl, his brain is different and that leads to some really out of the box stuff, most of stupid but very funny but sometimes a really interesting new look at life.
I like that you finally got onto Karl making a good point this is what happens the more you listen to him especially in the ricky gervais show some things he says are stupid but some are genius he sees things in such a simple way
Blimey!!! I haven’t seen this vid for years! And wow!!!! You have made me laugh so much with your banter as well!!! Excellent stuff” well done 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍😂🤣😂🤣😂🇬🇧💚🇺🇸 thank you!!!!
Hi, Karl Pilkington is extremely intelligent and a brilliant actor. Ricky came up with the idea that he would ask question’s on subjects and Carl had to answer then as an unintelligent person with no basic knowledge. He has no idea what Ricky will arsk him. Truly brilliant 👌
Great reaction again! I remember reading a story about ,I think a French revolutionary beheading where a mother bit the ear off of her son after they'd both been beheaded and where in the same basket. Now that's freaky!
Ricky and Steve Merchant had a podcast back in the day. Karl was the producer on the podcast. They started involving him in the podcast. "The Ricky Gervais show" is the animated version of the podcast it's brilliant...Also idiot abroad season 1-2-3 and Karls "meaning of life" all brilliant.
Karl and Chinese goes way back before an idiot aboard, even during the old radio show him, Ricky and Stephen did in the early 00s he would bring them up. And trust me Karl isn't laughing on the inside, he's being 100% serious , no act , no front just 100% him
The great thing is that Karl isn't putting this on, he's not a 'character' like Al Murray's pub landlord, this is the genuine Karl Pilkington. I'm glad you noticed too that his unique and peculiar Karl-isms are often sprinkled with some valid points. Also, I'll repeat what I said last time: The Ricky Gervais Show (full episodes). You will not regret it.
OH YESSS!!! And next please react to The Ricky Gervais show with Karl. It's amazing and then you get to know Karl and then after that do An Idiot Abroad. Thankf for this one. Great reaction!
The Ricky Gervais Show podcasts with Ricky, Karl and Steve Merchant are a must for you guys to react to. Was the biggest podcast going at one point. Some of it hasn't dated well but they are funny. (Just saw the end of the video, can't wait for that one)
Karl's obsession with Chinese people can probably be traced back to when he cut his teeth in broadcasting. He started at Picadilly Radio in Manchester, which was based on the North edge of Manchester's Chinatown district.
“An idiot abroad” and “the Ricky gervais show” are sometimes very close to bullying but very funny. The animation for “the Ricky Gervais show” is really well done.
Hey guys👍oh dear, you have unlocked your mind to Karl🤣🤣you will want more of his black or white take on life, there is such an innocence with the stupidity in him that you just have to laugh at his unintentionally funny attitude. Anything you do with Karl in it would be awesome.Sending love from the isle of Wight ✌️
Oh so happy that you are going down the Karl Rabbit hole, as for having too much knowledge, we say 'ignorance is bliss' ;) - Love you guys, carry on having fun y'all.
13:57 Ignorance is bliss. Plato’s Allegory of the Cave: In The Republic, Plato describes prisoners in a cave who perceive shadows on the wall as reality. When one prisoner escapes and sees the world outside, he experiences enlightenment but also suffers because of his new knowledge. This story parallels the idea that ignorance can be comfortable, while knowledge can be both enlightening and unsettling.
That photo of Karl with hair comes from an episode of a series he did called "The Moaning of Life". The episode was about identity and as part of it, Karl had a wig fitted.
14:00 "Knowledge comes at a price" Well, be aware, that at a few (too many!) key points travelling down the -rabbit- tremors hole that is the world of Karl, you may well find yourselves nodding at his strange but somehow agreeable views. That's the price of hearing Karl's knowledge lol I still say, he's been able to keep his real persona inside and act like it's off the top of his head, but he knows exactly what he's saying and forms a perfectly balanced 'comedian' presence. He is a damned genius. Thank you guys, carry on, the voyage is a big one (I have 3 of his books now as well as a few of his DVDs and he certainly is one of our National Treasures!)
By the way, the "two-headed fella" was a Mexican man called Pasqual Piñón. He was exhibited in the freak show of Sells-Floto circus in the early decades of the 20th century. He had a large benign tumour onto which a wax face was placed to sell it as a second head. Eventually, the circus manager paid to have it surgically removed so that he could return to normal life. He died at around 40 in 1929.

Real hope you get round to the ricky Gervais show. With ricky Steve sand Karl. Will realy get to kno Karl's thinking on the world and the dynamics between the 3 . . Great reaction as always
Jess describing MAGa, no knowledge is not always good 😂. Karl was born in my town. He went to the same school as my kids 🤣 it’s a really good school so not sure what happened with Karl. 😂😂 x
Make sure you check out the animated radio show with Steve merchant, Ricky and Carl it is brilliant especially when on each episode they read excerpts from Carl's diary.
The XFM videos with the cartoons made of the radio show just kill me. It's a constant stream of his own little world. I could watch them over and over.
Amazing vlog guys Hello from the Devon uk 🇬🇧 Karl from same birth city as me Manchester 👍 you should react to when ricky was singer (Seona Dancing ) in the 80s influence to David Bowie 👍
Hi Mike and Jess my submission to you is to watch coral goes to India with a dwarf and does Route 66 both are hilarious loving the show. Glad you discovered kar kar karl Pilkington
A lot of the topics discussed here are what randomly were brought up during the XFM radio show, which is simply outrageous and possibly their best work. Be too long for you though, with near 100 episodes that are round an hour long
There might be something in the chopped off head thing, but as usual Karl has it all mixed up in his head. When my dad died with my sister and me sat either side of his bed, holding his hands, I remembered some clinical research that had recorded brain activity for about 2 minutes after death . I quietly prompted my sister and we both whispered to him how much we loved him, how proud we were of him and to give our love to his father and brother when he met them, just in case he could hear. I’m an atheist, but Dad was a Catholic, so I wanted to reassure him and know he’d spoken a lot in his last few days about finally seeing them again.
Karl is the epitome of dry humor. This was filmed well before his visit to China. You both enjoy dry humor so I’d suggest An Idiot Abroad and I think his first visit is to China, not sure but wherever he is paid to unwillingly visit is so funny. Also the Ricky Gervais animated show with a cartoon Karl is extremely funny.
Somebody should do a reaction to Mike and Jess discussing Karl's theory of a headless body remembering walking directions. Karl isn't the only one who is very literal.
Thank you for watching our reaction to Meet Karl Pilkington! 😂 Karl’s humor is truly one of a kind!

When you get your Head cut off unconsciousness occurs in seonds. Cell death is irreversable brain damage occurs after 3-6 minutes.
Yes! My daily pick me up. Hope you're both well. There's loads more from these two. Like Mark Flower above(or below) says, "An idiot abroad", is hilarious. ✌

Of course they will. They've caught the pilkington bug.
Absolutely 🥳
@markflower8885. Definitely agree.
Definitely 😂
You have unlocked the Karl Pilkington chest you will not be disappointed. Idiot abroad amazing.
_An Idiot Abroad_ is an absolute must for you. It's become an all time favourite for the reactors that have watched it. Hour long journeys into exotic cultures but with Karl constantly moaning and not understanding anything. One of the greatest shows ever commissioned.
Karl isn't doing comedy - he's just being himself, that's his actual personality
Its amazing how so many people don't get that. He's not acting, he's more like Ricky's wind-up toy.
I absolutely adore Karl and am so glad to see that you've discovered this absolute gem.

Idiot abroad is one of the best series from British tele also Karl’s diary is brilliant
Telly, tele is not a thing unless it ends with phone.
The Ricky gervais show is still the ultimate in Karl and Ricky banter. You’ll never regret starting them
"An idiot abroad " they send Karl to( China )it's hilarious👍👌🇬🇧
The Ricky Gervais Show is a series of podcasts that were subsequently animated. It's GOLDEN. Karl is a legend.
An idiot abroad is one of the best shows ever made, the first episode - china is so good! Karl is a national treasure.
Karl isn't trying to be funny he is deadly serious which makes him even funnier
For more of Karl's views on life, check out The Ricky Gervais Show, with Ricky, Karl and Stephen Merchant. The animation is good too.
Great shout. Episodes are a good length for this too. Animation's very Hanna Barbera innit
Thanks for reacting to this. It often gets missed. Karl is just very honest. He isn't particularly trying to be funny. He just is.
animated ricky gervais show next please, then an idiot abroad 😂
The Ricky Gervais show is the perfect starting point for Karl. You get to know him and love him.

The Ricky Gervais Show (with Steve and Karl)is the biggest podcast in the world and it was done 20 years ago, which i did not know before yesterday.

Make sure you check out the animated radio show with Steve merchant, Ricky and Carl it is brilliant especially when on each episode they read excerpts from Carl's diary.
The Ricky Gervais show(HBO cartoon) is a goldmine of comedy
The XFM videos with the cartoons made of the radio show just kill me. It's a constant stream of his own little world. I could watch them over and over.
Amazing vlog guys Hello from the Devon uk 🇬🇧 Karl from same birth city as me Manchester 👍 you should react to when ricky was singer (Seona Dancing ) in the 80s influence to David Bowie 👍
You have a lot of fun stuff ahead of you. I'd start with the Ricky Gervais show on HBO and then do An Idiot Abroad.
Hi Mike and Jess my submission to you is to watch coral goes to India with a dwarf and does Route 66 both are hilarious loving the show. Glad you discovered kar kar karl Pilkington
Love Jess's laugh!!!!!
On behalf of all English people i would like to apologize for Carl, he is a national treasure, but the apology still stands lol
I'd like to apologise on behalf of us all for you thinking Karl needs apologising for, you sausage
Guys, Check out Karl, Ricky and Warwick Davis. ''Size Matters Not''
A lot of the topics discussed here are what randomly were brought up during the XFM radio show, which is simply outrageous and possibly their best work. Be too long for you though, with near 100 episodes that are round an hour long
The guillotine, they used to pick up the head and look into it's eyes 😮
❤ from Northeast England ❤️
Carl is the epitome of pure logic. His "box" is "infinitely " thick so he cannot think outside it
There might be something in the chopped off head thing, but as usual Karl has it all mixed up in his head.
Love this, but always reminds me of Mr Burns "it was the worst of times, it was the BLURST of times?"
