Do yu have an idea of how long did it take to build such a "fortified farm" (I'd rather say a "squarred farm" in fact) ?
If yu take archives in Provence south france yu have wrotten witness of the whole process from right beginning after acquisition of a wide field... Further observation of the environment and plans (2 years) . All choices of material such as stones wood etc and collecting them on the area. Let them be washed by rain... Dried by sun (2 years at least)... Then begun the foundations. Without machines. Lot of men collaborated til the end. So for such a "Bastide" or a big "mas" it was a project which last from at least 7 to 10 years. In same proportions as this one. And some required much more men and material... If yu added a "maison de maitre" or a true wide and complex "bastide".
Today we make similar project not in the same spirit in... Let say 2 years. But the beauty and soul are far... Away.
@@j-ch8787 I often wonder at how the Artisans of the past managed to manouevre all the granite, the beams, etc. without modern day machinery. Thank for sharing that information :)

This home is now sold, but it is absoultey so charming. Nice bedrooms, several bathrooms and laid out well. It is the sweetest home. Love the stone exterior brought inside as well. Chandiliers were perfect and the bathroom with the lovely bathrub wws unreal! Great lamd and wth the stables so anyone can spread out and go one more step above. Living the life of dreams. With gardesn and canning they can have most all they need right at home! They are lucky people who purchased this home, Mny blessings to them, Think they have hit the jackpot!

Absolutely. Same feeling. Filming is a true job. It gave me the impression of somebody who don't know what she is selling. Steady views on just a few angles in order to give the general impression is enough. What do we care of inner wardrobes... Details of bedrooms or jerky views on the wall of a corridor ?
Being a real estate agent is another job.
Yu need to handle... To manage the property and make people feel it through yur filming without lying... Just sothat people could feel interest of the era and proportions of constructions... Neighbors... That s enough.

Une ferme en carrée pouvait comporter pour de simples raisons de commodités locales... Des douves ou du moins des bassins sur le pourtour.
Ca semble etre le cas ici. Ca n enleve rien a la proprieté mais on est loin de la notion de "chateau".
