      I live in medford, Oregon, I worked for Dumb DASH for a but, I hated it, rude customer service when I had questions, I now work for GrubHub, although I haven't started yet I'm excited to work here, is it pretty much like doing dash? How do I make more on scheduling instead of just going right then, wouldn't that matter on the amount of delivery or am I missing something? Thanks brotha, thank you for taking the time for the video, I'm watching them while I'm at my full time job r.n.

    I just activated my Grubhub card. Will be trying them later in the week. I'm on your heels lol. So far in my area, for me, Uber eats has become my "go to" and DoorDash is my fall back. Uber seems to always send me directly from delivery point to next pick up without hesitation. Their customers seem to tip better also. Last 3 hr Uber shift $90, which would be equal to $112.50 in Philadelphia as your cost of living is 20% higher than where I'm at.

    I drive for DD, UE, and GH, having GH last because I was on their wait list for about 3 months. GH by far has the best payouts. Not only do you get paid better by GH themselves, but the tips are way better. Often times in just the tip alone I am making more money than in my total payouts from the other 2. I do notice a little more driving but it pretty much evens itself out, as I might do 10 "short" trips with DD or UE vs 5 "longer" trips with GH, so essentially it is about the same mileage but spread out differently, so I don't mind it. I don't know if GH has their tip expectation laid out differently or what it is but GH customers definitely tip better!

      That's very interesting. I wonder why GH customers tip more? Maybe it's marketed to higher incomes? Curious.

      I’m kinda at that point too deciding between a few smaller orders lower miles vs one bigger order higher miles. Miles seem to be about the same but you have to throw in wait time, wait for multiple smaller orders inside restraints or try and wait for that bigger order to pop up.

      @@rubyfirefly2582 because GH doesn’t charge exorbitant fees. So customers can afford to spend more money on tips when they aren’t being charged a $2.99 delivery fee AND $5.17 in “service” fees.

I already have selected a town which has hundreds of upscale restaurants, plenty of parking, massive businesses, no highway involved to deliver, and close to home. I am trying to learn how well doordash is here. I like the fact they give you the most info when an order comes through. At least I think they do.

    You are right that knowing your region is very important with GH because they don't tell you the mileage. I can take one look at the map and know if an order is worth my time. I might not be able to say that it's exactly 3.8 miles to the customer, but I can look at that order and know that it's worth the $10 they are offering.

    Hi Mike,
    I decided to give GrubHub a try, and before I continue, it's important to note that I use reading glasses to read, cell phone is no exception.
    I committed to a 3-hour block (11AM-2PM) during lunch in the middle of the week. In the middle of between my first pick up and the drop off, it was a confusing commercial complex looking for the entrance, and my phone won't stop dinging me. I can't drive with my readers on, and I read without them. So ignored the dinging. By the end of the block they had me down for ignoring 6 offers. And after three hours, I made $28-. Their offers don't show you where you are relative to the pickup. And they don't seem to give a crap how far away you are.
    So, in my situation, it seemed like a cluster f**king to me. I'm not discounting anything you say, I'm sure eventually, given enough effort, I could improve my take, but not with GrubHub, not today.

I work in your same Pittsburgh area, primarily northern pitt, and can average 45 to 60 an hour multitasking all three apps. I have done blocks for grubhub but it doesn't really seem to matter much as their system seems to focus more on your current location to give orders. Thanks for the content, keep it up.

    I’m just started to drive with GH, and not happy that miles are not displayed. But rather than complain about it.....is there a way to some how calculate distance between the pin locations. I’m sure many seasoned drivers have found a way to figure it out.
    I’m assuming the reason miles are not shown is to entice more drivers with higher pay to pick up long distance orders..

  • @edwindigital4598

    @davidcarter1492 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I am not a fan of the scheduling, and not having the miles on the accept screen sucks. In my market I have accepted what looked like a good money order, only to realize I am being sent way, way out of the market area. I do a much better job of looking at the map now. (90 seconds is plenty of time.) Additionally, you have to actually call support to remove yourself from an order. Blah...
    I find I wait a bit more at restaurants than I do for doordash orders. But It also seems like the tips are much better.
    I do like how GH tries to preposition with orders even before delivering a current order. Having said that, sometimes it seems like there is no rhyme or reason for where they try to send me for pickups. Where Doordash always sends me to a restaurant right in the area I am in, GH will try to have me pick up orders that are in a completely different area of town than I am sitting in.
    Overall I make more per hour with GH, more per order... But if I am not paying attention my dollars per mile can really take a hit with GH.
    I do most of my delivery time with GH now, only working DD if they peak pay is good for a particular day or time. I am also signed up with Uber Eats but they just don't get enough business in my area.
    An additional tip... something I learned and was really happy about. When GH sends out a message with a promo like $20 for 5 orders by 11:59, it is $20 for each set of 5 deliveries. I have had a couple really great nights with that kind of promo.
    I though of one other thing to pass on, and I don't know if this is common. I had my first GH customer cancel and GH only paid me $1 for the order... and I had already went to the restaurant. The real odd thing is that when I got to the restaurant the manager told me that they no longer use GH. Then as I am trying to call support I get a message that the customer cancelled. Strange and irritating, but I still had a good shift.

  • @nate4shave
    @nate4shave 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    GH also send deliveries out side of region too and they send you next order even before you finish one you have and that’s keep you busy and only the cons is you can’t calculate miles per dallers ratio in GH app else it’s good they restrict drivers ratio too per market they just don’t sign up when ever anyone wants to be in some area there’s long waiting for get it in GH

Today I log on for the first time to check out the app. I live in rural Alabama north of the Birmingham zone. I slide the unavailable bar to available just to see what happens. I was shocked to receive an offer within seconds that would pay over $24. I live 25 miles from restaurant. @@YourDriverMike this definitely isn't to say I still make awesome money on grubhub. It looks like it's way better in your town. I've never got sent a double order ever, I have on like Friday night got sent the "add to queue" orders which can come in when you still have 10 minutes of driving to get to a dropoff. It's highly that first night I worked (a Saturday) was just crazy buzy, but I didn't even take orders from other apps because it was non stop 20$ orders. Just haven't seen that since.
      Obviously the biggest issue is no mileage being shown so like you mentioned you really have to know your area or they will have you driving all over the place.

      I don't know. I think all the platforms are kind of opportunistic in that regard. To put it bluntly, if you take the crap orders they will continue to give them to you. That being said, apart from the order quality they do go through slow periods but where I am we all network pretty good and I don't see any of that here. After being on their platform for a year now my orders have settled in to pretty much the same thing each shift with slight variances here or there, averages around $25-35. I don't think it has done anything but improve since my first shift.

    I'm new to grubhub hoping someone can give advise. So I know you can schedule a block. So you get an order come and accept it, then you're in the process of picking it up or delivering it. But while you're in the process on working on that 1 order you get other orders pop up but you haven't finished the one you're on already. What do you do? Do you decline other orders that pop up, ignore them, or put yourself in unavailable mode? Today I got penalized because I put myself in unavailable mode because I hadn't delivered my customers order yet. The only reason I did that was because I didn't want other orders to come through until I was finished the one I was on. If anyone has advice I'd appreciate it.

      More likely you're not getting hired, I applied for both doordash and Grubhub last year in March and Grubhub reach out to me within 2 weeks but doordash still has me on a waiting list and more likely won't hire me . Is like most jobs I used to work at taco bell as a shift manager and the general manager would get hundreds of applications but he would pick some at random and the rest he would put them away and eventually just disposed of them, he would look at the ones that he randomly selected and started working on the hiring process, doordash and Grubhub probably still have our applications but very little chance we'll get hired, is been up and down experience for me with Grubhub but so far is still working for me in spite of the new tip policy that really sucks but in California we don't get offers lower than $7 and we get pay adjustments every Monday, somehow I can still average 20 dollars per hour or more on a weekly basis.

    GH is better for payout (base pay + tips) but its very slow and pretty often in LA at least. The base pay in DD is higher than in GH. Also in GH diner can add the tips after delivery which is good for drivers as well as there is NO driver rating like in DD. In the past the tips in GH was calculated from the order (%, in the app) but now in the app there is just buttons with tips ($0, $1, $1.5, customised...). I hope they will change it, and remove these buttons. So, using only GH would be a mistake in my opinion. Tanks for video! 👍
