Here’s a tip for the substrate change after doing as Micheal says the easiest way to get it out is with a dust pan yup regular dust pan won’t harm silicone as you scrape it out
Very true!
That's an excellent! tip. That's what I use +1....I use a matching small hand held broom to escort the substrate into the dust pan. It really helps get the substrate out of the corners especially if you have acrylic and are as paranoid as I am about scratches. I'm actually using this method tomorrow to add some CaribSea African Cichlid Zack Black to the 200g tank.
Thank you, great info!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video Michael! Yeah I’ve not had any problem with cycling with used media either. Have fun at the clash😊👍🏻⭐️
Thanks 👍
@@MichaelsFishRoom I would love to make it there some year
I just never had a need to change it. But, I come here because I'm never too old to learn. Bob, pro Rock singer.
Thanks Bob!

Lol
What foods do you feed taco? I just got a srd flowerhorn this last week!
Extreme
Speaking of substrate how would you go about cleaning out some of the mulm in a tank that is crowded with guppies (or in my case endlers) that just love to swim right into the hose. I am not against mulm but would like to remove it once in a while as it builds up with breeding colony of endlers and I would like to see my substrate once in a while.
Feed them on one side of the tank, clean the other.
Bam!
Lol
Hey Mike I live in bucks County and not a member can I attend? And where is it being held.. thxs Jason
Yea you can. Check the facebook group.
See Ya Soon
Lookin forward to it homie!
Dam missing this one too. Do well guys and ah have fun
I want to replace my substrate, soil that I didn't sift or remove large wood pieces and debris (noob move) with sand layer that's causing or keeps ammonia levels high all the time, even with water changes. Will it kill my plants if I replace my substrate with fresh well sifted substrate and a layer of sand? I have no live stock since they slowly died off bc of the ammonia. I'm just concerned about my plants.
No, they will be fine if done correctly.
I wanted to completely overhaul my 40 gallon breeder....my biggest hurdle is I have a dirt capped with black diamond sand....I just dont wanna have to deal with the dirt portion of it haha
Lol, just do it!
Calmed down in the groups? No trouble lately? We can't have that....hold my beer....I'm going in!
Lol
Hey Mike is Omega One good fish food?
Meh

Didn't you do this subject in 'Don't overthink it' Part 1?
And part 2 if you watched until the end, you would have noticed.
@@MichaelsFishRoom Sorry man...short attention span, my bad.
I don't think my tank stuff (75 gal) would fit in a 5 gal bucket. And you are recommending that people put everything, fish, snails, shrimp, filters, rocks, whatever all in one bucket? Might work, if someone has a 10 gal tank.
Don't be a dumbass, use more than one bucket. DUH
Mikes keeps it real like Fox news 😂💯
Lol
