I was born and raised in Tulsa. I've never lived anywhere else but I've done a lot of traveling..all I can say is I love my hometown and can never wait to come home..I love Tulsa!
I’m from Argentina and have visited the US on many occasions, but you show us the not-so touristy places outside of both coasts, and that is amazing. Keep the good work, and new cities coming!
True. 100% agree with you. I’m from Dominican Republic and have visited the Northeast (NYC, Jersey City, Boston) and Southeast (Miami, West Palm Beach, Naples, Boca Ratón, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa) on a few occasions. All cities were amazing. I don’t know why but I liked less touristy cities like St.Pete, Tampa, Clearwater, Boca Ratón and West Palm Beach than Miami. I loved Boston tho. And I agree with you this channel shows us the not-so touristy cities of America. All of them seen beautiful, organized, community oriented and full of things to do. Really surprised by Oklahoma City and Tulsa (great overall cities)
As a young man, I used to enjoy walking in the downtown area in mid-mornings, mid-afternoons, and especially weekends...it was very much deserted, quiet, and peaceful...just like this
Very nicely done, thanks for showing me around my old town. I lived in Tulsa from 1955-1984. Many of the downtown buildings look pretty much the same, cleaner and updated, different names and tenants, but otherwise hasn't changed much. It had a grittier feel to it in the 60's, like most American cities did but they've done a nice job over the years cleaning it up. Thanks again, great video quality, take care.
I enjoyed your walking tour of downtown Tulsa. You covered the same streets I (as a Tulsa native) enjoyed walking during my lunch hour in the downtown area. I do miss those walks!
Moved to the wonderful city of Tulsa about a year ago.. LOVE it!! Nicest folks on the planet.. best coffee shops in the country.. I’ve lived in a lot of cities/states and this one is the best.. only negative is the grocery chains.. no Kroger here.. I miss Kroger 😊😊
Downtown looks remarkably clean. It would be nice to see the fountain in Cathedral Square operating! Someone please comment on Tulsa as a retirement destination!
Ha ha try being in Las Vegas for any period of time. But now there are tons of jobs paying 14 & up now, (I see that for some in OK city and area, is that common pay I wonder) but its an expensive stressful city revolving solely around excess pretty much, if youre not into the fast pace it gets old.
I work in that BOK tower for over 15 yrs now. I wish people would stop taking the bricks from the Center of the Universe Circle. This video must have been taken a while ago because there is temporary stairs now in the BOK parking lot near the COU Circle.
That's the kind of attitude that turns people off of the Oklahoma brand of conservatism. Other red states are a little less "in your face" about politics compared with Oklahoma. It is what it is and that is a part of Oklahoma culture, but don't be surprised when liberal people want to leave the state because of it.@@downwiththezionistpsychopa9812
So Sorry that you missed the Boston United Methodist Church. You were a block away from it and went the other direction. It is the largest Art Deco Church in the U.S. and is on the national Register of Historic places. I saw it in the distance and thought surely you won't miss this Tulsa gem, but you did, sorry the viewers couldn't see this magnificent building. But a good Video anyway. Thanks, Rex
We used to live in Tulsa from 2003-2005. I'm actually from Germany, but my husband was born in Tulsa. We didn't own a car back then, and he worked the nightshifts at the Bank of Oklahoma. One of our friends loaned him a bike, and people in cars passing him threw beer bottles and cans at him. It was dangerous, and no fun. My father in law, who also lived in Tulsa, said when he first visited us in Germany, "so people really walk here?".
Wow that’s crazy! Honestly, USA was the first country I ever visited abroad, then I visited over 7 countries in Europe, and noticed how US cities are all make for driving. Literally, nobody walks there, few people ride bicycles, which is totally shocking to me because in Europe, most cities are make for walking, everybody walks, you see everybody taking the streets. This has always been one of the things I don’t like about the US.
@@camagisi As an American who went to København every year for decades & has never stopped bike riding as much as possible, I 100% hear you. The efforts to get people to leave their damned cars & trucks behind ARE gaining however. Just excruciatingly slowlyyy 😩
That’s painful to hear but not so surprising for 20 yrs ago. Hike & bike paths, bike lanes, rentals, & more sidewalks are gaining here, thank goodness. And even hardcore carbrains know to look out more nowadays.
Hi, I’m from Germany. I never was in the US, but it is on me Life-Bucked-List 😉 Is it normal, that there a so few people on the streets? What time was the recorde time? Very friendly regards from germany
People don’t walk around downtown. They prefer to walk down riverside and enjoy the many parks and hiking trails around the city. Downtown is mainly business by day, restaurants bars and clubs at night. You should look up The gathering place. It’s one of most expensive parks ever built. Located just 5 minutes south along the Arkansas River. Tulsa’s are outdoorsy, nature and art oriented people.
@@jeremybenninghoven7120 do people live downtown? If so, is there a sustainable environment for groceries, restaurants, cafes and that type of thing or do you have to drive away from downtown for that stuff? This downtown looks very beautiful and idyllic.

Yes it was a sunday in a bible belt town, but also downtown is a only a small part of Tulsa as a whole and there are allot of other shopping districts and parks so most of the time no single place is overcrowded except during evenings or special events.
Why people keep saying that it is dangerous for a young single woman to live in Tulsa by herself ? Where is it actually safe there for her to live on her own with peace ?
I don’t agree with that at all. There are pockets here & there like in every city you might need to avoid. But even downtown is pretty good for anyone. Criminals/ homeless/ gangbangers mostly mess with their own kind & leave others alone.
@@Waluigi2009 Thats not whats happening here though. Its because its a Sunday and Oklahoma is a bible belt state.
